Srinagar, Oct 25 (KNO): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Muhammad Aijaz Asad on Wednesday said that the connection between Cinema and Kashmir cannot be broken.
“The natural bond between Cinema and Kashmir continues to grow stronger,” DC Srinagar said during the inauguration of the International Film Festival in the district.
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), he further added that this unique connection, untouched by human hands, stands as a testament to the enduring beauty of this region.
“The connection of Cinema and Kashmir has been deeply intertwined, and it is a connection formed by nature, not by any human being. This bond cannot be broken and endures,” said Asad.
He further added that, “the government has adopted a Single Window Clearance system under the new film policy and has also provided physical incentives. I would like to mention that in the last two to three years, numerous movies, documentaries, and short films have been shot here, which is a positive development.”
“In this regard, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has also visited here in connection with his movie ‘Lal Singh Chada’, and this film festival will contribute to our cultural heritage,” he said.
“I would like to emphasize that the picturesque scenery of the Valley, with its mountains and famous lakes, attracts tourists. Similarly, the people of Kashmir and their culture are significant incentives. Today, on the 100th anniversary of the legendary Davanand, I would like to congratulate and welcome everyone here,” DC said—(KNO)
