Education Department in J&K Seeks Recommendations and Proposals for the Establishment of Madrassa Board
Asks draft committee to submit recommendations and proposal by Jan-10
Srinagar, Jan 02: School Education Department has sought recommendations and proposals from the draft committee for establishment of Madrassa Board in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) in this regard has agreed to establish a draft committee of four members.
“Sanction is accorded to the establishment of Draft Committee consisting of four officials who will prepare a comprehensive draft proposal regarding establishment of Madrassa Board in J&K,” it reads.

DSEK said that the Committee shall meet at its headquarters from January 03-7. “They shall submit their recommendations and proposals to DSEK by or before January-10-2024.
Pertinently, the Jammu and Kashmir government in February 2014 had said that it was considering setting up a Madrasa Board in the erstwhile state.
The then Minister for Haj, Auqaf and Floriculture, had informed the legislative council that ‘J&K State Wakf Council was actively working on it.’—(KNO)
