Cold weather tightens grip in Kashmir as Srinagar veiled in dense fog

   

Cold grips Kashmir as fog blankets Srinagar, impacting visibility in various Valley areas. The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar forecasts dry weather for Jammu and Kashmir, but isolated morning fog may persist in the Kashmir division over the next 24 hours.

In Srinagar, dry conditions and a cloudy sky contribute to atmospheric haze, reducing visibility. The dense fog persists in Srinagar, creating challenges for vehicles during early morning and evening hours.

As per MeT data, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 0.8°C and a maximum of 12.5°C on the preceding Monday. Other recorded minimum temperatures include Kupwara -0.8°C, Qazigund -0.4°C, Kokarnaag 1.2°C, Pahalgam -2.6°C

Gulmarg -1.2°C, Anantnag -0.3°C, Pulwama -2.1°C, Shopian -3.8°C, Kulgam 0.2°C, Budgam -2.3°C, Baramulla 0.1°C, Bandipora -2.5°C, Jammu 12.6°C, Banihal 2.2°C, Batote 6.1°C, Bhaderwah 3.8°C, Katra 10.5°C, Reasi 9.9°C, Samba 9.2°C, and Kathua 12.2°C.
