Government Suspends Engineer Amid Allegations of Misrepresentation

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended an engineer over misrepresented facts during a visit by the officials.

As per an official order, a copy which lies with KSA reads, Er. Angrez Singh, AEE (Civil), Sub-Division Mairamandrian, Akhnoor, has been suspended by Government Order No. 464-PW(R&B) of 2023, dated 16.11.2023.

It further reads, the suspension follows accusations that he misrepresented facts during a visit by the Hon’ble Advisor (B), falsely claiming non-mapping of records on JK-BEAMS/JKPaySYS, leading to payment delays for contractors.

“Upon verification, it was revealed that the Sub-Division had been mapped on JK-BEAMS/JKPaySYS, with the electronic payment system fully operational, including salary releases for all officials,” reads the order.

“The government deems the engineer’s conduct unacceptable and has suspended him pending an inquiry by Er. Rajesh Kumar, Chief Engineer, R&B Jammu. The investigation is expected to conclude within 10 days, demonstrating the commitment to transparency and accountability.” (KSA)
