Indian Air Force Begins Online Registration for Agniveer Vayu Recruitment 2027
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially commenced the online registration process for its Agniveer Vayu Intake 01/2027 under the Agnipath Scheme. Young and motivated Indian citizens now have the opportunity to apply and serve in the Air Force for a period of four years through this recruitment drive.
Key Dates & Timeline
- Registration Begins: 12 January 2026 at 11:00 AM IST.
- Last Date to Apply: 1 February 2026 (11:00 PM IST).
- Phase-I Online Exam: 30 & 31 March 2026.
Candidates must apply only through the official recruitment portal at iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in — no other mode of application is accepted.
Eligibility & Criteria
To be eligible for Agniveer Vayu recruitment, candidates must meet the following criteria:
🔹 Nationality:
- Unmarried Indian citizens (male and female).
🔹 Age Limit:
- Born between 1 January 2006 and 1 July 2009.
🔹 Educational Qualification:
- 12th pass (10+2) with Physics, Mathematics and English — minimum 50 % aggregate and 50 % in English.
- Or Engineering Diploma holders (relevant branches) with similar minimum marks.
- Candidates from other streams with requisite marks may also be eligible based on notification norms.
🔹 Marital Status:
- Applicants must be unmarried and commit to remain so during the four-year service period. Female candidates must also agree not to become pregnant during this tenure.
Selection Process
The selection for Agniveer Vayu will be conducted in multiple stages:
- Online Objective Test (Phase I)
- Physical Fitness Tests (PFT)
- Adaptability Tests I & II
- Medical Examination
Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification and medical standards as per IAF rules.
Salary & Benefits
Agniveers selected for the 01/2027 intake will receive a monthly package that increases yearly:
- ₹30,000 (1st year)
- ₹33,000 (2nd year)
- ₹36,500 (3rd year)
- ₹40,000 (4th year)
In addition to monthly pay, personnel will receive allowances (risk, hardship, dress, travel), accommodation support, and a Seva Nidhi package of approximately ₹10.04 lakh after successful completion of four-year service. Up to 25 % of each intake may be retained for regular cadre based on performance and organisational needs.
Application Fee
A standard application fee applies (usually around ₹550 plus applicable taxes) which must be paid online at the time of submission.
