Islamic University of Science and Technology Announces Contractual Faculty Positions
The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, Kashmir is inviting applications for contractual faculty positions in Philosophy and Computer Science & Engineering.
Eligibility
- For Philosophy: Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale) in Philosophy from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university AND NET/SLET/SET or Ph. D.
- For Computer Science & Engineering: B.E. / B. Tech/B.S. and M.E. / M. Tech./ M.S. or integrated M. Tech. in relevant branch with 1 class or equivalent in any one of the degrees OR Ph.D. from institution of National importance with GATE/GPAT/CEED directly after the Bachelor’s degree.
Emoluments
- Rs. 45,000/- per month
- Rs. 48,000/- per month (with NET/SLET/SET)
- Rs. 50,000/- per month (with Ph.D.)
- Rs. 50,000/- per month (with NET/SLET/SET and Ph.D.)
Tenure
The tenure of the contract will be one year, extendable up to December 2025 based on performance and feedback.
How to Apply
Eligible candidates can apply online and deposit a fee of Rs. 300/- online. They must then submit the downloaded application form along with attested copies of all relevant documents, certificates, and testimonials to the Concerned Centre/Department of IUST on any working day by or before the last date for submission of hardcopies (April 8, 2024).
The selection of a candidate will be based on academic merit (calculated as per UGC regulations 2018) and an interview.

- Candidates who have been awarded a postgraduate/Ph.D. degree from a foreign university must enclose an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. Applications without this certificate will be rejected.
