IUST Announces Winter Vacation from January 1 to February 6, 2026

Awantipora, Dec 23: The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) has officially announced the schedule for winter vacation for all its teaching departments, centres, and constituent colleges.

As per an order issued by the Office of the Dean Academic Affairs, the winter vacation will be observed from January 1, 2026, to February 6, 2026. The directive applies to all teaching units functioning under the university.

Departments to Observe Winter Break

The order clearly states that all teaching departments, centres, and constituent colleges of the university shall remain closed for academic activities during the notified winter vacation period. The decision has been taken in view of prevailing winter conditions and in the interest of smooth academic administration.

Administrative Offices to Remain Functional

While teaching activities will remain suspended during the winter break, the university has clarified that all departmental offices will continue to function normally. These offices are required to observe regular working hours throughout the vacation period to ensure uninterrupted administrative operations.

Duties of Heads and Directors

The order further directs that:

  • Directors, Heads of Departments (HoDs), In-charge Departments, Centres, and Principals of constituent colleges
  • Coordinators of various centres

shall attend their duties as per normal routine. They have been instructed to ensure smooth functioning of their respective offices during the winter vacation.

Official Order Details

The order has been issued vide No. IUST/DAA-Acad/25/8080, dated December 23, 2025, and is duly signed by the Assistant Registrar Academics.

Important Note for Students and Staff

Students are advised to take note of the vacation schedule and plan their academic activities accordingly. Faculty members and administrative staff must comply with the directions mentioned in the order to maintain institutional workflow during the vacation period.
