Jammu and Kashmir Places Principals as In-Charge Chief Education Officers
The government of Jammu and Kashmir has placed a number of principals as in-charge chief education officers (CEO) and equivalent positions in the School Education Department. The order is dated March 14, 2024.
The principals have been placed in these positions “in the interest of administration and in view of exigencies”. The order states that the positions will be filled up on a regular basis by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) or Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).
The principals who have been placed in these positions are listed in the order. Some of the principals will take up their new positions immediately, while others will wait until the retirement of the present incumbent.
The order states that the principals who have been placed in these positions will not be entitled to charge allowance. The arrangement is purely temporary and does not confer any right upon the officers to claim seniority, placement, promotion, or regularization.

- Anjali Gupta, SRML HSS Jammu – Principal DIET Poonch (to join on May 1, 2024)
- Makhni Devi, HSS Barwal Jammu – Principal, DIET Jammu (to join on April 1, 2024)
- Surjeet Kumar Sharma, SCERT Jammu – CEO Ganderbal (to join on April 1, 2024)
- Riyaz Ahmad Sidiqi, GHSS Sonwar Srinagar – He shall continue at his present place of posting till further orders
- Shiv Kumar Pandita, HSS Camp Durga Nagar – Principal DIET, Pampore Pulwama
- Vijay Singh, Samagra Shiksha J&K – Principal, DIET Srinagar
- Rajesh Sharma, HSS Kharote – Principal, DIET Ganderbal
- Rajeev Abrol, HSS Mawa Brahamna – CEO, Budgam
