The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has recently released the Final Selection List for the Sub-Inspector, Police (Home Department) positions, as per Notification No. 01-Selection of 2024 dated 8th of January, 2024. This announcement follows a thorough process involving multiple stages, including initial notifications, medical examinations, and appeals before the Appellate Medical Boards.
The journey began with the initial advertisement vide Notification No. 06 of 2021 dated 21.10.2021 and Notice No. SSB/Secy//2021/7926-42 dated 24.11.2021. In the final selection list, 98 posts were initially reserved, including 69 candidates who were required to undergo medical examination and appeals before the Appellate Medical Boards.
Medical Examination and Appeals:
The 69 candidates, as part of the reserved posts, underwent medical examinations as per the Notice No. JKSSB-Scry/26/2023-03(E-7376857) dated 09.01.2023. This step was crucial in ensuring the fitness of the candidates for the Sub-Inspector positions. Additionally, two candidates who had deficient documents initially submitted the required documents, further progressing in the selection process.
Upon receiving satisfactory medical reports and necessary documents, the matter was discussed in the Board’s 256th meeting. After thorough deliberations and considerations, the Board decided to fill up the reserved posts by considering the candidates declared fit by the respective Appellate/Medical Boards. Furthermore, the Board resolved to consider the two candidates who previously had deficient documents, recommending them to the concerned Indenting Department. Additionally, one ESM (Ex-Serviceman) candidate, with a deficiency, was detailed for a medical examination to fulfill the requirements.
The announcement of the Final Selection List marks the culmination of a meticulous selection process by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board. The inclusion of candidates who underwent medical examinations and appeals, as well as addressing deficient documents, reflects the Board’s commitment to a fair and transparent recruitment process. This development not only fulfills the aspirations of successful candidates but also underscores the importance of due diligence in government recruitment.
As the selected candidates prepare to take on their roles as Sub-Inspectors in the Police Department, this milestone serves as a testament to the rigorous and comprehensive approach adopted by the JKSSB in selecting the best candidates for crucial positions within the Home Department.
