🔹 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria in order to apply for the JKSSB Sub-Inspector Telecommunication posts:
1. Domicile
- The candidate must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
- The applicant must possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format on or before the last date of submission of the application form (13.01.2026).

🔹 Ex-servicemen can deduct their service period from their actual age. If the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit by more than 3 years, they will be considered eligible.
3. Educational Qualification
- The educational qualification required for the post of Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication) shall be as per Annexure-A of the official notification.
- Candidates must have acquired the prescribed qualification on or before the last date of filling the online application form.
- Candidates claiming equivalent qualification must produce a valid equivalence certificate issued by the competent authority.
🔹 Reservation Policy
- Reservation is applicable as per the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act/Rules and as amended from time to time.
- Candidates applying under reserved categories (SC, ST, RBA, EWS, etc.) must possess a valid category certificate as on the cut-off date and upload the same while submitting their online application.
- No further opportunity will be provided to upload missing or incorrect documents after submission.
🔹 Horizontal Reservation (Where Applicable)
- Ex-Servicemen and Women Candidates will be provided horizontal reservation as per the rules notified by the government.
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are not eligible for these posts.
- Up to 15% of available vacancies in direct recruitment shall be earmarked for women candidates in non-gazetted ranks (as per S.O. 288 dated 14.06.2022).

🔹 Scheme of Examination
(I) Written Examination
- The examination will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- All questions will be set in English language only.
- There will be negative marking for wrong answers — 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect response.
Bonus Marks for NCC Certificate Holders:

(II) Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of written examination (six times the number of vacancies in each category) will be called for PST.
For Males:
- Height: 5’-6’’ (minimum)
- Chest Girth (Unexpanded): 32’’
- Chest Girth (Expanded): 33½’’
For Females:
- Height: 5’-2’’ (minimum)
Relaxation:
- Gorkha candidates – 2” height relaxation
- Bot Tribe – 2” height relaxation
(III) Physical Endurance Test (PET)
For Male Candidates:
- Long Race: 1600 meters in 6½ minutes
- Push-ups: 20 (one complete cycle up and down counts as one)
For Female Candidates:
- Long Race: 1000 meters in 6½ minutes
- Shot Put (4 Kgs): 14½ feet in three attempts
