Srinagar, Dec 05: Minister of School & Higher Education, Health & Medical Education and Social Welfare, Government of J&K, Sakina Itoo Thursday said that winter vacations in Kashmir schools will be announced soon.
“Winter vacations are a routine matter, but this winter we have reverted back to November academic session. It is also evident that the valley is under the grip of severe cold and students are facing immense hardships. We want new classes to resume soon and winter vacations announced,” Minister Sakina Itoo told reporters.
She said, “winter vacations will be announced soon”.
Responding to a query, she said the government has already set norms about fee structure in private schools. “If any parent is being duped in the name of admission/annual fee, he/she should report the matter to my office or the department. I assure the strictest action will be taken against the involved schools. We have already clarified that any private school if violates law will be dealt strictly,” she said.
Paying tributes to JKNC founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on his 119th birth anniversary, she said the JKNC founder was ‘tallest leader’ in the political arena of Indian sub-continent. “He was not only popular in India, but outside the country as well. His contribution particularly towards Jammu & Kashmir in terms of education, health and land reforms are unparalleled for which he will be remembered for long,” she said.
