NEET-UG 2026 Row: NTA Says “No Full Paper Leak”, Only Some Questions Surfaced

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has informed a Parliamentary Standing Committee that there was no complete paper leak in NEET-UG 2026, stating that only certain questions had surfaced before the examination.

The clarification comes amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the cancellation of NEET-UG 2026 after allegations of malpractice and question paper leaks emerged from different parts of the country. According to reports, NTA officials told the panel that while irregularities were detected, the entire paper was not leaked.

Despite the agency’s clarification, the examination was cancelled due to concerns over fairness and transparency. Officials reportedly said that even limited exposure of questions was enough to compromise the integrity of the exam process.

The issue has sparked nationwide debate, protests by students, and investigations by multiple agencies. Several arrests have also been made in connection with the alleged malpractice network linked to the exam.

Meanwhile, the NTA has announced that the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted on June 21. Candidates will be allowed to appear using their existing registration details, and fresh admit cards will be issued before the exam.

The controversy has also led to increased scrutiny of the examination system, with demands for stronger security measures and reforms in the conduct of national-level entrance tests.
