BOSE Amends Class 12 Results: Re-declares failed 165 students as qualifiers with distinctions

Srinagar, Jun 12 (KNO): At least 165 students, who were declared failed to qualify all subjects of 12th standard have been re-declared as distinction holders in the amended annual regular results.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Monday announced the amendment and revised notification of those students who were declared failed due to the ‘lackadaisical approach of either from their parental school or the BOSE’.

In a notification BOSE said, “Further to the Higher Secondary Part Two examination results, at least 165 roll numbers’ results are amended, revised and declared.”

Pertinently, a group of class 12th students Saturday held a demonstration here in press enclave Srinagar against the discrepancy in results announced by BOSE.

The protesting students had said that scores of students of Government Higher Secondary School Kakapora have been marked absent for practical paper of chemistry subject and subsequently marked as ‘reappear.’

“We have scored good marks in the theory paper, and due to the practical discrepancy, the entire subject is shown as ‘reappear,’ which has left us mentally disturbed,” they said.

On Friday, Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education announced annual regular results of 12th standard with an overall pass percentage of 65 percent.

Meanwhile, top officials of BOSE informed that the parental school of those students hadn’t updated their award roll.

“We got the award roll lately from their respective schools and that’s why this issue occurred. There was no fault of BOSE in it,” the official said—(KNO)
