Recruitment Notice: Research Assistant Position at IUST

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Awantipora, Kashmir, invites applications from highly motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Research Assistant (RA) under the project titled “Design and Development of Apple Sorter and Grader Based on Color and Size”. The project is sanctioned by the J&K Science Technology & Innovation Council, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir and is led by Mrs. Baziga Youssuf, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IUST. This position is temporary and will be co-terminus with the project.

Position Details:

  • Position: Research Assistant (RA)
  • Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 20,000/- per month (Consolidated)
  • Essential Qualification: B.Tech in Electrical/ECE with a minimum of 60% marks
  • Duration: Initially for six months, extendable based on performance and availability of funds

The subject of the email should be “Application for RA position (Candidate Name)”. The last date for submission of applications is 03/03/2025.

Selection Process:

  • Shortlisted candidates: The list will be displayed on the university website.
  • Interview Date & Time: Will be announced on the university website.

General Instructions:

  1. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Candidates cannot claim regular appointments at the university.
  2. The University reserves the right to terminate the contract of non-performing candidates at any time without prior notice.
  3. Candidates must bring original and attested copies of their testimonials/certificates at the time of the interview.
  4. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
  5. Candidates must present original documents related to their qualifications and experience during the interview.
  6. The University reserves the right to defer or not fill the advertised position without assigning any reason.
  7. If a selected candidate chooses to withdraw, they must serve a one-month notice period or one-month salary in lieu.
  8. The terms and conditions governing the service shall follow the rules and regulations of the university and/or funding agency, with amendments from time to time.
