Srinagar, Aug 19 (KNO): School Education Department has asked the NGOs and other agencies to seek permission before conducting any programme or activity in educational institutes and subsequently has ordered all the concerned officials not to allow them without its approval.

In this regard, the department has said that many such incidents have come to be adversely affecting the smooth functioning of classroom work.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Director of School Education Kashmir has said, “It has been observed that some NGOs are directly approaching CEOs and ZEOs as well as Hols for the conduct of programmes in Educational Institutions of Kashmir Division without seeking any prior permission from Directorate of School Education Kashmir.”

The director has said that some of the NGOs are not even having proper registration and do not fulfil the criteria laid down for granting permission to conduct training programmes and other activities in the educational institutions

“Allowing these unregistered NGOs without permission adversely affects the smooth functioning of classroom work in these Educational Institutions,” reads the communique issued by the director.

DSEK said that it becomes imperative for the department to keep a proper check on such activities.

“It is as such impressed upon all CEOs, ZEOs and Hols not to allow any NGO to conduct any activity or programme without seeking proper permission from this directorate,” it reads—(KNO)
