SKUAST-Kashmir Announces Job Openings for Fisheries Research Project
The Faculty of Fisheries at SKUAST-Kashmir, a university located in Jammu and Kashmir, India, is looking to hire two people for a fisheries research project sponsored by the Fisheries Society of the British Isles.
The project, titled “Age Determination of Fishes of Kashmir Himalaya: Evaluating the Reliability of Otolith, Fin Rays and Scales,” will investigate the accuracy of different methods for determining the age of fish in the Kashmir Himalaya‘ region.
One position is available for a project assistant, who will be required to have a B.F.Sc. or graduate degree in science with a focus on PCB (physics, chemistry, and biology). Experience in fisheries research is preferred.
The other position is for a field attendant, who will be responsible for assisting with the research project‘ in the field. A 10th pass is required for this position, and preference will be given to applicants who live near the Faculty of Fisheries and have experience working in research or educational institutions.

Both positions are temporary and will last for six months. The project assistant will be paid Rs. 12,500 per month, while the field attendant will be paid Rs. 5,000 per month.
