The University of Kashmir, Srinagar, has released Selection Notification No. 6–PG of 2025 for Distance Mode Programmes under the Directorate of Admissions and Competitive Examinations. This notification pertains to the provisional selection of candidates for admission to various Postgraduate (PG) Distance Mode Programmes for the academic session 2025.

    • The window for downloading and submitting the form remains open from 08 October 2025 to 09 October 2025 (4:00 p.m.).
  3. Mandatory DEB-ID Requirement
    As per UGC guidelines, all provisionally selected candidates must have a DEB-ID (Distance Education Bureau Identification Number).

    • The DEB-ID can be generated by visiting the UGC-DEB web portal: https://deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDeBID.
    • Candidates need an Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) ID to generate the DEB-ID.
    • Those who do not possess an ABC ID can create one through the DigiLocker platform at https://www.digilocker.gov.in.
    • Once generated, the DEB-ID remains valid for the student’s lifetime.

    Note: Without a valid DEB-ID, admission cannot be granted to any Open and Distance Learning (ODL) or Online Learning (OL) programme.


Completion of Admission Formalities

The provisionally selected candidates must complete their admission formalities at the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), University of Kashmir, by or before 09 October 2025 (4:00 p.m.).

Failure to complete the process within this timeframe will result in the forfeiture of admission rights, and the vacancy will be filled from the waiting list.


Conditions for Admission

Admission to the PG Distance Mode programmes is subject to several important conditions and verification requirements. Candidates must adhere strictly to the following:

  1. Submission of Original Documents
    Candidates must produce all relevant original documents, including:

    • Marks certificates/transcripts of qualifying examination
    • Domicile certificate (other than OSJ)
    • Reserved category certificate (if applicable)

    Submission of the eligibility cum registration/migration form, along with the prescribed fee, is mandatory.

    Candidates are also required to produce an affidavit sworn before a 1st Class Judicial Magistrate. The affidavit must clearly state that:

    • The candidate is not enrolled in any other distance mode programme.
    • All certificates/documents submitted are genuine and authentic.
    • The candidate has not availed any benefit under a reserved category for another PG programme earlier.
    • The candidate agrees to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the Centre for Distance and Online Education.
    • Any misinformation or concealment of facts may lead to cancellation of admission and legal action.
    • The affidavit is made voluntarily, without any pressure or coercion.

Verification and Finalization of Admission

All provisionally selected candidates are instructed to visit the Centre for Distance and Online Education along with the admission form and all required documents (original and self-attested copies) for verification and final acceptance of admission.

The prescribed admission fee must be paid online between 08 October 2025 and 09 October 2025.

The university has made it clear that any candidate failing to complete admission formalities by 09 October 2025 (4:00 p.m.) will forfeit their right to admission, and the seat will be allotted to candidates from the waiting list.

Furthermore, no additional chance will be provided for candidates who miss the deadline until the entire merit list has been exhausted.
