Weather Update for Jammu and Kashmir: May 28 – June 7, 2024
Forecast Overview
May 28-29: The region will experience generally dry weather. However, isolated thundershowers cannot be ruled out.
May 30-31: Expect partly to generally cloudy skies with light rain or thunder at isolated places.
June 1-2: Similar weather conditions will persist, with partly to generally cloudy skies accompanied by light rain or thunder at isolated locations.
June 3-5: The weather is predicted to be generally dry.
June 6-7: Generally cloudy conditions will return, with light rain or thunder expected at isolated places.
Advisory
Heat Wave Conditions:
– The plains of the Jammu Division will continue to face heat wave conditions and hot, dry weather over the next seven days.
– There will be slight relief from the heat wave in most parts of the Kashmir Division and some hilly areas of the Jammu Division during May 30-31 and June 1-2.
– Another spell of heat wave is expected from June 3 to 5.
Precautionary Measures:
– Avoid exposure to heat between 12 noon and 3 PM.
– Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids and water, especially vulnerable groups such as elderly people, infants, and children.
