National Child Development Council Raises Alarm Over Declining Social Values
In a recent meeting, members of the National Child Development Council (NCDC) expressed deep concern over the declining social values within society. The session, supervised by NCDC Master Trainer Baba Alexander, focused on the growing trend of individualism and a lack of empathy among citizens.
During the meeting, committee members noted that many people have become increasingly self-centered, neglecting the needs and issues of others. They emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of caring and civic engagement.
One of the NCDC core committee members suggested that schools can play a critical role in instilling social values by involving all students in the National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC). This participation, they argued, would help cultivate a sense of responsibility and awareness among youth.
Another member proposed that educational institutions should organize social work events and programs to actively engage students in societal issues, which will empower children to become representatives of change, equipped with the skills necessary to address challenges within their societies.
The NCDC is a self-governing national organization dedicated to promoting women’s rights and ensuring child education across India.
