The NTA NEET examination will be conducted in a single shift – from 2 pm to 5.20 pm across the country at various exam centres.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG 2024) exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 5, 2024. The NTA NEET examination will be conducted in a single shift – from 2 pm to 5.20 pm across the country at various exam centres.
According to an official notification, more than 24 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the examination at different centers in 557 Cities throughout the country and 14 Cities Outside India.
NTA released a set of instructions for candidates to follow at the exam centre for the fair conduct of the examination. Candidates also need to go through the dress code that has been mentioned in the information bulletin released by the testing agency.
Candidates appearing for the exam must carry the following items to the exam hall: a personal transparent water bottle, an additional photograph uploaded on the application form, an admit card and a self-declaration with a postcard-size photograph.

JK Bank reports highest-ever annual profit of Rs 1,767 crore for FY24
Srinagar, May 4: Jammu and Kashmir Bank on Saturday reported its highest-ever annual profit at Rs 1,767 crore for 2023-24.
Its Managing Director and CEO Baldev Prakash said the net profit surged 48 per cent compared to the previous fiscal.
“Beating its own highest-ever record of profits achieved only last year, the net profit surged in fiscal 2023-24 by 48 per cent to achieve its record profit figure of Rs 1,767 crore,” Prakash told PTI after the bank’s annual results for FY 2023-24 were released bank here.
He said the bank will be sharing the historic profits with its shareholders by making the highest dividend payment of around Rs 236.75 crore this year.
The bank witnessed a 10 per cent increase in its total income to Rs 6,029.17 crore from Rs 5,502.09 crore.
It had posted a profit of Rs 1,197 crore last fiscal, which was the highest profit till last year.
Prakash said the bank’s asset quality has improved by bringing the gross non-performing assets to a decadal low of 4.08 per cent, while the net non-performing assets to 0.79 per cent.
With a provision coverage ratio (PCR) at 91.58 per cent, J and K Bank has reiterated its commitment to prudential provisioning and risk mitigation.
On the business growth, Prakash said the bank’s total deposits rose 10.44 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,34,774.89 crore as of March 31, 2024, from Rs 1,22,037.74 crore recorded a year ago.
Its net advances rose 14 per cent to Rs 93,762.51 crore in Q4 for FY2023-24 from Rs 82,285.45 crore a year ago.–(PTI)

Srinagar, May 03 : The Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (JKSCERT) has informed that the potential learners of 8th standard who could not qualify the annual regular exams can avail the opportunity of appearing in the supplementary assessment.
The council said that the exams of the potential learners would be conducted under Student Assessment and Evaluation Scheme (SA&ES) after undergoing the necessary remedial teaching.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Joint Director Central of JKSCER in a circular has said that as per the SA&ES, the candidates who could not qualify the Middle Standard Examination 2023-24 for both hard and soft zone can avail the opportunity of appearing in the supplementary assessment after undergoing the necessary remedial teaching.
“Accordingly, the concerned schools are requested to undertake the remedial classes of the potential learners as per the guidelines notified in SA&ES and subsequently, complex heads are advised to conduct the supplementary Assessment (examination) under the supervision of concerned DIET after completion of the remedial classes,” it reads.
JKSCERT also directed that the whole process shall be completed within two months including supplementary examination.
“Furthermore, the complex heads shall provide the list of candidates to their respective DIETs who shall maintain the database and closely monitor the progress in the matter,” reads the circular.
In December-2022, the government decided that it will retain the unsuccessful students of classes 5th and 8th irrespective of their weak performance by promoting them provisionally to the next level.
The authorities in this regard had issued a notification regarding the ‘Student Assessment and Evaluation Scheme’ upto Class 8th for government and government recognised schools of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the provisions in National Education Policy-2020 and Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2019 (as amended).
In the notification, authorities had said that “Result of classes 5th and 8th shall be prepared mainly on the basis of academic performance of the student throughout the year. Uniform question papers to be prescribed by SCERT for year end assessment for classes 5th and 8th.”
It also states that the students (Potential Learners) shall be identified on the basis of performance and competency in assessment.
“The students (Potential Learners) shall be promoted to next class on provisional basis with arrangement for special teaching of 2-3 months during vacations or beginning of next session followed by re-assessment for grade appropriate competencies and in case of inability to meet the qualification criteria in such re-assessment tool, the student shall be detained,” it reads—(KNO)
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the assignment submission deadline to May 15. Candidates enrolled in ODL, online programmes, GOAL, and EVBB for the June 2024 TEE can submit their projects, dissertations, practical files, and internship reports online at the official IGNOU website – ignou.ac.in.
Candidates are required to attach a copy of the fee receipt with the project report at the time of submission of hardcopy or by uploading it to the online portal. According to an earlier notice issued on April 2, the submission deadline was extended to April 30.
“With the approval of the competent authority, the last date for submission of assignments (both in hard copy and soft copy) for term end examination, June 2024 for both ODL and online programmes, GOAL and EVBB has been extended up to May 15,” read the notification.
IGNOU June TEE Exam
The IGNOU has also released the tentative date sheet for the June TEE exam 2024 on its official website. According to it, the exam will commence on June 7 and conclude on July 13. Additionally, exams will be conducted in two shifts – a morning shift from 10 am to 1 pm and an evening shift from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Students are advised to report any discrepancies in the date sheet through email – [email protected]. However, candidates must note that clashes of exam dates will not be considered if the courses are from the same groups, are backlog courses, are from different programmes, or are from different specialisations in MP programmes

Step 1: Go to the official website of IGNOU – ignou.ac.in
Step 2: Navigate to assignment submission link available on the homepage
Step 3: Login using necessary credential in designated field
Step 4: Upload the scanned assignment with respective code
Step 5: Submit the assignment.
Step 6: Students are advised to take a screenshot of assignment submission receipt for further references.
Meanwhile, the last date to apply for TEE June 2024 with a late fee of Rs 1100 was May 2. For the examination, the fee is Rs 200 per course (theory and practical and lab courses). However, a different fee structure applies to students enrolled after January 2023. This structure charges Rs 300 per course for up to four credits and Rs 500 per course for courses exceeding four credits.
NEET-2024 Exams: Class work in 6 institutions to remain suspended tomorrow
Baramulla, May 03 (KNO): In view of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG)-2024 exams on May 05 (Sunday), the authorities in Baramulla ordered suspension of class work in designated educational institutions on Saturday (tomorrow).
An official order, accessed by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) states that the class work in designated educational institutions across Baramulla district shall remain suspended on 04-05-2024 (Saturday), i,e tomorrow, in order to ensure necessary arrangements are put in place in advance.
The order was issued following a request by City Coordinator, NTA, NEET-2024.
The designated institutions are: SRM Welkin School, Sopore, Sanctorum Institute, Lalad Sopore, Delhi Public School, Delina Baramulla, Baramulla Public School Baramulla, Govt. Degree College, Boys Baramulla and Gulzar Memorial Educational Trust Nowpora Kalan Sopore—(KNO)
