The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released a notification inviting candidates for document verification cum interview/viva voce for the post of Inspector, Finance Department.

Who can apply

Candidates who had applied for the post of Inspector, Finance Department advertised vide Notification No. 04 of 2020, under Item No. 117 and appeared for the OMR Based Written Examination conducted on 17th March, 2024 are eligible to apply.

How to apply

The shortlisted candidates will be intimated individually about the schedule and venue of the document verification cum interview/viva voce. The document verification cum interview/viva voce will be held tentatively from 06th to 08th May, 2024.

  • Two passport size recent colour photographs

Govt employee placed under suspension for violating Model Code of Conduct

DEO Srinagar directs strict adherence to MCC

Srinagar April 18, KDC: Acting tough against the violations of Model Code of Conduct(MCC) guidelines an employee was placed under suspension by the authorities in Srinagar today.

The order issued in this regard reads that “one Government employee namely Javid Ahmad Sofi working in SKICC has been found violating the MCC guidelines by participating and facilitating the political party meetings”.

The order further reads that ‘the said employee has been placed under suspension with immediate effect.”

Needful to mention that Model Code of Conduct is a set of guidelines issued by Election Commission of India to provide a level playing field in favour of all political parties.

The Model Code of Conduct comes into force from the day and time the election schedule is announced by the Election Commission of India and remains in operation till the completion of election process as per the election notification.

District Election Officer, Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi ud Din has issued instructions for strict adherence to the Model Codel of Conduct and dealing strictly with any violation by any employee which comes to the notice of the authorities. (KDC)

Traffic plan and advisory for 19 april 2024

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

1. From 17-04-2024, 1700 hrs. to 18-04-2024, 1700 hrs., there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to breakdown of 02 HMVs, 07 nomadic flocks, single lane traffic at Dalwas, Mehad, Panthyal, Nachlana, Shalgarhi etc. and poor surface condition of road at many places between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.
2. Passengers/LMVs operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during day time. Please avoid journey during night hours as apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
3. Load carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time to time as there is single lane traffic and poor condition of road at Dalwas, Panthyal, Nachlana, Shalgarhi etc. on Jammu Srinagar NHW.
4. HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
5. HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 19-04-2024:
Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44)
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. However, HMVs shall be managed on regulated manner after assessing the road condition.

Cut off timing for LMVs in view of single road at Dalwas, Panthyal, Nachlana, Kishtwari Pather etc (subject to change depending on road condition):
from Nagrota (Jammu) 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs
from Jakheni (Udhampur) 0700 hrs to 1400 hrs &
from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs
No Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.

SFs Convoy Movement:
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of narrow carriage way between Nashree and Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road is still closed.

SSG ROAD:
Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road is closed due to fresh snowfall.

Mughal Road:
Mughal road is still closed.

Bhaderwah-Chamba road:
Bhaderwah-Chamba road is still blocked due to snow accumulation.

The J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to the GNM & ANM courses for the academic session 2024 in the Government/Private Colleges / Institutions of the UT of J&K.

Selection Process

The selection of the candidates to such courses shall be regulated by the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations Act, 2002 and the Rules and Regulations made thereunder; Jammu & Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004 as amended vide J&K Reorganization Act, 2019, J&K Reservation Rules, 2005 as amended vide S.O. 69 dated 28-02-2020, S.O 127 dated 20-04-2020, S.O. 249 dated 23-07-2021, S.O. 277 dated 13-08-2021 and S.O 176 dated 15-03-2024 and subject to further amendments, if any, made by the Competent Authority, from time to time read with the guidelines as contained in the Electronic Information Brochure-2024.

Srinagar Boat Tragedy: Several Pvt schools in Gandbal surroundings to remain shut for two days

‘Step to express solidarity with bereaved families’

Srinagar, Apr 17 (KNO): Several private schools in adjacent areas of Gandabal Wednesday decided to close educational institutions for two days in solidarity with the grieving families.

On Tuesday, at least six people were killed when a boat capsized in Gandabal area of Srinagar which was ferrying several minor students, their parents and some labourers.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), several private schools in this regard have issued notifications to its students and staff—asking them to stand in solidarity with the grieving families.

Principal of the one of the private schools in Padshahibagh Srinagar in a condolence message said, “On behalf of the whole school community, I extend my sincerest sympathies for the loss of life that occurred on 16-04-2024 at Gandabal Soiteng.”

“We are all shocked and saddened that so many precious lives were lost, and we extend our sincerest condolences to the bereaved families. There is no way to prepare for the loss of a loved one. It comes like a sudden and unexpected blow. We pray for the patience and strength of the bereaved families as they grieve for their loved ones,” it reads.

The condolence message of the school further reads, “As a community, we are equally sharing their grief and sorrows and will continue to support each other at all times. In this regards, the school will be closed for a two-day period, that is Thursday and Friday,” it reads.

Similarly, management of another private school in a condolence message said, “We are deeply saddened about the recent tragic incident that happened in the nearby area Gandabal Soitang on 16/04/24. We have lost many precious lives, our hearts ache for the immeasurable loss their families are enduring, and we extend our most sincere condolences to their families during this difficult time.”

“The loss of their lives has left an indelible mark on all of us. Regarding this matter, the school will remain closed for two days i.e Thursday and Friday,” it reads—(KNO)

  2. Students must use A4 ruled paper (unless it is instructed on your TMA).

  3. Leave 4 cm margin on left and right side of each page.

  4. Do not use staplers, to bind the pages; you use need threads (what is typically found with cover files).

  5. Avoid using any ink colour other than blue and black.

  6. Here is how you need to arrange your IGNOU assignments:
    • First you need to attach the cover page (You will find it at your study centre).

    • Then, attach a photocopy of your IGNOU ID card.

    • After that, attach a copy of your TMA (question paper on your assignment document).

    • Lastly, attach your hand written answers.

    • Leave one blank page in the end.

  7. Do not use any files while submitting your assignments. Your assignment should only consist of the pages, tied with a thread.

  8. You must take a submission receipt, which will be stamped by the study centre with submission dates. In case, your study centre is unable to provide you one, take a photocopy of the cover page of your assignment and get that stamped.

Note: For submission of practicals, you need to use a cover file.
