UGC NET December 2023 Registration Starts, Last Date, application link

NTA UGC NET 2023: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the online registration for UGC NET December 2023. Eligible candidates can apply for the University Grants Commission’s National Eligibility Test through the official website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

As per the schedule, the UGC NET December 2023 online application process will be open from September 30 to October 28, 2023, up to 5:00 PM. The application correction facility for the registered candidates will be available from October 30 to 31, 2023. The National Test Agency will conduct the UGC NET December exam from December 06 to 22, 2023 and the admit card will be issued in the first week of December.

J&K govt orders suspension of DySP Sheikh Adil, ASP Budgam Gowhar Khan

Srinagar, Oct 01 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir government on Sunday ordered suspension of two senior police officers including DySP Sheikh Adil, who was recently arrested in a corruption case in Srinagar.

According to an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) J&K home department stated that Adil Mushtaq, Deputy Superintendent of Police, shall be deemed to have been placed under suspension with effect from 21.09.2023.

Adil was arrested on September 21 in case FIR No. 149/2023 under sections 7, 7A of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and section 167, 193, 201, 210, 218, 221 of IPC in Police Station Nowgam.

The order stated that he shall remain attached with Zonal Police Headquarters Kashmir, during the period of suspension.

In a separate order, the home department ordered suspension of additional superintendent of police Budgam Gowhar Ahmad Khan with immediate effect.

“Pending enquiry into his conduct Gowhar Ahmad Khan, Addl. Superintendent of Police Budgam, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect. It is further ordered that the Officer shall remain attached with Zonal Police Headquarters Kashmir, during the period of suspension,” reads the order—(KNO)

GENERAL INFORMATION/INSTRUCTIONS:

I. Candidates are advised to take a printout of their system generated online application form after submitting the application.

II. Candidates should satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the post applied for. The JKBRSETI would admit to the test all the candidates applying for the posts with the requisite fee on the basis of the information furnished in the online application and shall determine their eligibility.

III. Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply online well before the closing date and not to wait till the last date to avoid the possibility of disconnection / inability / failure to log on to the website on account of heavy load on internet or website jam.

IV. JKBRSETI does not assume any responsibility for the candidates not being able to submit their
applications within the last date on account of aforesaid reasons or for any other reason beyond the control of JKBRSETI.

V. Not more than one application per post should be submitted by a candidate. In case of multiple applications, only the last valid (completed) application will be retained and the application fee / intimation charges paid for the other registrations will stand forfeited. Multiple attendance/ appearance by a candidate in examination will be summarily rejected/candidature cancelled.

VI. Candidates serving in Government / quasi govt offices/ Public Sector Undertakings (including Nationalised Banks and Financial Institutions) are required to produce a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of interview, in the absence of which their candidature will not be considered.

VII. In case of selection, candidates will be required to produce proper discharge certificate from the employer at the time of taking up the engagement.

VIII. The original documents regarding eligibility criteria and proof of date of birth should be produced for verification. Candidate will not be allowed to appear for interview / join if original certificates are not produced for verification.

IX. Decision of JKBRSETI in all matters regarding eligibility of the candidate, the stages at which such scrutiny of eligibility is to be undertaken, qualifications and other eligibility norms, the documents to be produced for the purpose of the conduct of Examination, verification etc. and any other matter related to this recruitment process will be final and binding on the candidate. No correspondence or personal enquiries shall be entertained by the JKBRSETI in this regard.

X. Candidate want to apply for both the positions need to apply separately for each post.

XI. Online applications once registered will not be allowed to be withdrawn and/or the application fee/ intimation charges once paid will not be refunded nor be held in reserve for any other examination.

XII. Any canvassing or creating influence for undue advantage shall lead to disqualification from the process.

CALL LETTERS:

The Centre, venue address, date and time for both online examination as well as interview shall be intimated in the respective Call Letter.

Govt orders change in school timing in Sgr, summer zone of Jammu from Oct 01

Srinagar, Sep 30 (KNO): The government on Saturday ordered a change in school timing for all the educational institutions falling within the municipal limits of Srinagar and also in the summer zone of Jammu division.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the separate orders issued by the Directorate of School Education Kashmir/Jammu reads that the school timing shall be observed from 9:00am to 3:00pm from October 01, 2023.

“In supersession of all previous orders, it is hereby ordered that all the government and private recognized schools within the municipal limits of Srinagar city shall observe school timings from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM w.e.f. 01.10.2023,” reads the order issued by Directorate of School Education Kashmir.

In a separate order, Directorate of School Education, Jammu has ordered that all the government and private recognized school in the summer zone of Jammu division shall observe school timing from 9.00 AM to 3.00 PM for the month of October 2023.

“In supersession of all previous orders issued on the subject, it is hereby ordered that all Government and Private (recognized) School in Summer Zone of Jammu Division shall observe school timing from 9.00 AM to 3.00 PM for the month of October 2023 and w.e.f. 01-11-2023 school timing will be 9.00 AM to 3.00 PM within Municipal Limits and in Rural Areas it will be 10.00 AM to 4.00 PM. The Winter Zone of Jammu division shall observe school timing w.e.f. 01-10-2023 as 10.00 AM to 4.00 PM. Srinagar, Sep 30 (KNO): Despite the augmentation of power infrastructure and the installation of much-hyped smart meters, the electricity woes continue to torment the valley residents ahead of the winter as since past one week, consumers are facing pesky power cuts across the Valley.

The situation is equivalent in towns, cities and villages as the consumers have accused the concerned Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) of supplying inadequate electricity to them.

“Despite the installation of smart meters, which were aimed to ensure better power supply, we are getting nearly 4-5 hours of electricity supply on a regular basis, which has added to the misery of consumers here,” said Jahangir Ahmad, a local from the Natipora area.

“Crores of rupees have been spent on the power infrastructure augmentations in the last couple of years, which were giving a hope of round-the-clock electricity to the people, but all in vein as seemingly the winter power schedule has been started in the valley during the Autumn season, thus pushing the people to the wall,” the residents said.

Such unscheduled power cuts are being witnessed everywhere nowadays as the complaints are being received from several other areas also.

The consumers said that the electricity is being snatched for hours together and is being supplied for only a few hours in a day.

“The electricity supply was snatched multiple times today, which began from 6am to 8:30 am in the morning, 1 am to 2:30 pm in the afternoon and then 6pm to 8:30 pm in the evening,” one of the residents from Pampore said.

The frequent electricity cuts have irked the people, who demand authorities to take immediate steps to ensure adequate power supply to them.

Pertinently, Kashmir’s power generation has got badly affected as according to the KPDCL Chief Engineer, Javed Yousuf Dar, the reduction in water level in river Jhelum, Chenab has lessened the power generation at the power houses of Kashmir.

“We are presently looking for an option to get the additional electricity to ensure adequate power supply to the people. We are on it and hopefully, the issue will be resolved in next few days,” Chief Engineer, KPDCL had said—(KNO)

The last date to register online for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023 has been extended. Now candidates can register online for the GATE 2024 exam till October 5 without the payment of any late fee. However the window to register for GATE 2024 will open again for candidates to apply online with the payment of late fee. The closing date for GATE 2024 registration with the payment of late fee is October 13.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore is administering GATE 2024. GATE 2024 will be held between February 3 and 11, 2024. Details including GATE 2024 application, eligibility and GATE exam papers, GATE two-paper combinations are available at the official website — gate2024.iisc.ac.in. Students in their third or higher years of any undergraduate degree programme or who have completed any government approved degree programme in engineering, technology, science, architecture, humanities can appear for GATE 2024.

As per the GATE 2024 dates, the admit card has been scheduled to be issued on January 3, 2024. The GATE 2024 answer keys for all the papers will be out on February 21, while the result will be declared on March 16.

The questions in GATE 2024 exam will be from two sections — general aptitude and core discipline.

DSEK orders change in school timing in Srinagar city from Oct 1

Srinagar, Sep 30 (KNO): Director School Education Kashmir on Saturday ordered change in school timing for all educational institutions within the municipal limits of Srinagar city from October 01.

According to an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the new timings for all schools will be from 9 am to 3 pm from tomorrow.

“In supersession of all previous orders, it is hereby ordered that all the government and private recognized schools within the municipal limits of Srinagar city shall observe school timings from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM, from Oct 01,” reads the order—(KNO)
