Kulgam, July 07 (KNO): A man died after lightning struck him in Guddar area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday morning, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the man identified as Abdul Hameed Khan son of Ghulam Hassan Khan was on his way to agricultural land when the lightning struck him.

“He has died on the spot”, he said, adding that the further proceedings have been taken up in this regard—(KNO)

6. the candidates who have passed their qualifying examination under Choice Based Credit System Scheme are eligible/can apply for admission to the PG Programme/s only in such subjects where he/she has earned/obtained at least 24 credits in Core or Generic Elective Courses at Under-Graduation Level. However, for the courses/programmes where there is open eligibility like LL.B, MA Mass Communication & Journalism, MA Library & Information Science, MA Linguistics, MA Anthropology, MA Social Work etc., the candidates having passed their qualifying examination in any discipline are eligible/can apply for admission to said programmes.

7. Candidates need not to submit the hard copy of the Application Form; however, they must have get printout of the online submitted Application Form and retain it with themselves for future reference.

2. In case you have lost/forgot your password, Please use Forgot Password link to reset it.

3. After successful Registration, login into the system for submitting On-line Application Form. Enter your “Registration No.” and Click “Next.

4. Enter the required details and Upload your latest passport size Photograph and click “Next”.

5. Select the desired Course (Course Codes with description) and Preferences (After last date the Preference of Campus/College selected will not be updated/changed). Click “Next”.

6. Please select your course you want to apply carefully as the Programme/s, once submitted, Programme/s wont be updated or changed after the online submission of form, if you wanto to select one more course after form submission then you have to submit another form using same username and Password and have to deposit separate application fees

7. If there is any variation click on “Previous” button, make necessary corrections and then Click “Submit”.

8. Upload your scanned copy of final year marks certificate and also if applying under any reserved category upload your scanned copy of reserved category certificate.

9. Deposit the non-refundable “Application Fee of Rs. 750/- for one Programme and Rs. 250/- for each subsequent Programmes using single application form, through Online mode only Follow the payment instructions and make the online payment. On successful online payment, the payment made will be reflected under the respective application form. Print out of the same can be taken for reference /record.

10. Applicant can view the Application details by providing username and password. Applicant is required to make sure that “Application Status” on application form is “Fee Received” after 3 days otherwise application will be treated as incomplete and summarily rejected.

11. Candidates in their own interest are advised to apply & submit application promptly and not to wait till the last date/time for applying online. The price below this went up to Rs 58265 today and the price above it went up to Rs 58346 per 10 grams. These gold prices are for its August futures.

Silver is trading today on MCX with a strength of Rs 141 or 0.20 per cent. Today the rate of silver is at Rs 70430 per kg and till now rates of up to Rs 70300 have been seen on the downside. Apart from this, in today’s trade till now the rate of silver has gone up to Rs 70449 per kg. These prices of silver are for its September futures.

In the financial capital Mumbai, gold is being sold with an increase of Rs 100 at the rate of Rs 59,060 per 10 grams. Gold rates in Kolkata have increased by Rs 100 to Rs 59,060 per 10 grams. On the other hand, in Chennai, gold is being sold at Rs 59460 per 10 grams with a jump of Rs 160.

2 JKAS Officers shifted, another given additional charge of post

Srinagar, July 6 (GNS): The government on Thursday ordered transfer of two JKAS officers in the interest of administration with immediate effect.

According to a government order, Muzamil Maqbool Beigh, JKAS, Collector Land Acquisition, Special Army (Budgam and Srinagar), holding additional charge of Sub-Registrar, Budgam, has been transferred and posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Chadoora. “He shall also hold the charge of the post of Sub-Registrar, Chadoora, in addition to his own duties, till further orders,” reads the order, a copy of which lies with GNS.

Afroza Bano, JKAS, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Budgam, has been asked to hold the charge of the posts of Collector Land Acquisition, Special Army (Budgam and Srinagar) and Sub-Registrar, Budgam, in addition to her own duties, till further orders.

Prince Noorul Hamid, JKAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Chadoora, holding additional charge of the post of Sub-Registrar, Chadoora, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department. (GNS)

Srinagar, Jul 06 (KNO): The Administrative Council (AC) which met here under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha gave approval to the establishment of the Department of Public Grievances as a separate Administrative Department.

Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor; Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, J&K and Mandeep Kumar Bandhari, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor attended the meeting.

Earlier, the subject of “Redressal of Public Grievances” was assigned to the Administrative Reforms, Inspections, Trainings and Grievances Department.

This administrative reform measure is in line with the commitment of the Government that envisages promotion of citizen-centric governance with emphasis on grievance redressal innovations through e-Governance. This will ensure better administration and quality public grievance with better outcomes for the aggrieved thereby guaranteeing efficient disposal of official business—(KNO)
