1. From 02-05-2023, 1700 hrs. to 03-05-2023, 1700 hrs Jammu Srinagar NHW remained blocked for 01 hour 01 mins due to a big Trailor breakdown on middle of the road at Ramban bazar, blocked for 45 mins at Mehar due to restoration work. NAVYUG Tunnel closed for 04 hour 39 mins by Tunnel authority, making the total blockage of 06 hours 25 mins. Also slow movement on NH-44 due to breakdown of 10 HMVs and movement of 12 nomadic flocks between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.
2. HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 04-05-2023:-
Subject to fair weather and road clearance, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall be liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.
CUT OFF TIMINGS FOR LMVS/PASSENGER/PRIVATE CARS
To be released from Nagrota (Jammu) from 0600 hrs. to 1100 hrs.
from Jakheni (Udhampur) 0700 hrs to 1200 hrs &
from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qzd. side) 0600 hrs to 1100 hrs.
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the traffic advisory and cut off timings. No vehicle shall be allowed to move before and after cut off timings.
*HMVs/Load Carriers:-*
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, HMVs shall be allowed from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) towards Jammu after assessing the road and traffic situation on NH-44. TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.
*SFs Convoy Movement:-*
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of narrow carriage way between Nashree and Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. *Tomorrow they may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu* after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.
*SSG ROAD*
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, only one way traffic from *Srinagar towards Kargil* shall be allowed on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road. These vehicles shall be allowed from Sonamarg, LMVs at 0630 hrs. to 0730 hrs followed by HMVs upto 0930 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing
*MUGHAL ROAD:-*
Mughal Road closed for vehicular movement as per District Magistrate Shopian’s order endstt. no. DMS/PA/2023/1362-67 dated 05-01-2023 in view of snow accumulation.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2023 candidates are asking for a postponement in the medical entrance exam. Students are raising concerns over the lack of enough time to prepare. Aspirants have launched an online campaign on social media platforms and want the exam to be postponed.
“Friends 5 petitioner are ready to sign the petition we are just waiting for the @AliKaashifKhan sir for the reply once they reply we will file the petition in the Bombay High school let’s hope for the best #postponeNEETUG2023,” an aspirant wrote on Twitter.
The NEET UG 2023 is scheduled to be held on May 7, 2023. On social media, the medical aspirants are using the hashtags such as “#NEETUG2023POSTPONE, #postponeNEETUG2023 to press forth their demands.
An online petition has been created by few candidates on Change.org promoting the content and over 650 candidates have already signed the petition. “We understand that govt is trying to bring back the pre-pandemic academic schedule but postponing NEET to just 15 days will not do any harm in our opinion,” reads the text of the petition.
The NEET UG 2023 registration concluded on April 15 after an extension. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has also released the NEET UG 2023 exam city slip and the candidates can download the exam city slip from the site and carefully review the details mentioned on it.
NEET candidates need to note that the NEET UG 2023 admit card is likely to be released this week. After the NEET UG 2023 admit card is issued, candidates will be notified via the website – neet.nta.nic.in.

MeT predicts more rains, some places record below normal temp
Tourists Asked To Keep Warmer Cloths As Weather Was Likely To Be Colder Till May 8
Srinagar, May 3 (GNS): Weather department has forecast intermittent light to moderate rain while as several places recorded below normal temperature on Wednesday.
A meteorological department official here told GNS that a brief spell of rain and thunderstorm was expected at scattered places towards late afternoon or evening today.
From May 4-6, he said, “weather was likely to be fair to partly cloudy. A brief spell of rain/thunderstorm may occur towards late afternoon/evening.”
From May 7-8, he said, rain was likely at “many places”.
He asked tourists to keep warmer cloths, saying that the weather was likely to be colder rill May 8.
Regarding temperature, he said, Srinagar recorded a low of 10.4°C against 10.6°C on the previous night and it was 0.7°C below normal for the summer capital.
Qazigund, he said, recorded a low of 8.8°C against 9.0°C on the previous night and it was above normal by 0.3°C for the gateway town of Kashmir.
Pahalgam, he said, recorded a low of 5.2°C against 6.5°C on previous night and it was 0.3°C above normal for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Kokernag recorded a low of 7.4°C against 8.3°C on the previous night and it was 1.0°C below normal for the place, the officials said.
Gulmarg recorded a low of 3.5°C against 8.3°C on previous night and it was 0.8°C below normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, he said.
In Kupwara town, he said, the mercury settled at 8.7°C against 8.1°C on the previous night and it was 0.8°C below normal for the north Kashmir area.
Jammu recorded a low of 18.8°C and It was 4.0°C below normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said. 
Banihal recorded a low of 10.8°C (above normal by 0.7°C), Batote 10.2°C (2.3°C below normal) and Katra15.4°C (3.8°C below normal). (GNS)
