Konkan Railway Recruitment 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Land Loser Candidates: The recruitment drive gives priority to Individuals whose land has been acquired for a KRCL project, regardless of the percentage of land lost. The spouse, children, and grandchildren of these land losers can also apply.

Non-Land Loser Candidates:

Candidates from Maharashtra, Goa, or Karnataka with valid employment exchange cards registered along the Konkan Railway route will be given second preference in the recruitment process. Meanwhile, those who don’t have employment exchange card will be considered on a third preference basis.

The Board of Technical Education (BOTE) has issued an important notice for all Principals and students of Government and Private Polytechnics across the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The notice pertains to the online registration process for newly admitted students for the academic session 2024-2025.

1. Registration Period: The online registration forms for students admitted to the 1st semester and Lateral Entry students of the 3rd semester will be available on the official website (http://www.jksbotelive.com) from 5th September 2024 to 15th October 2024.

2. Form Submission Deadline: Students must fill out the registration forms online and submit them by 15th October 2024. The prescribed fee receipt must be submitted to the concerned Polytechnic by 25th October 2024.

3. Registration Fee: A registration fee of Rs. 200/- is to be paid exclusively through online payment methods such as Internet Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.

4. Principal’s Assistance: Principals are advised to assist students wherever necessary during the online registration process.

5. Strict Compliance with Intake Quota: Principals are instructed to ensure that registration forms are strictly submitted according to the sanctioned intake in both the merit and management quota. Forms beyond the sanctioned intake will not be entertained.

6. Name and DoB Verification: Principals must verify that the student’s name, parentage, and Date of Birth on the JKSBOTE Registration portal match the Matriculation certificate and Aadhaar card. Any discrepancies may lead to the cancellation of the registration.

7. Bank Account Requirement: Only those students who have opened Academic Bank Accounts on the ABC Portal will be eligible to fill out the registration form.

Kashmir University Launches Mobile Helpline for Examination Queries

The University of Kashmir on Tuesday have introduced a Mobile Helpline specifically for addressing queries related to examinations.

This initiative was launched by the Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University Prof Nilofer Khan in presence of Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Khursheed Ahmad Butt, Registrar, Prof Naseer Iqbal and Controller of Examinations, Dr. Majid Zaman.

Prof. Nilofer Khan, Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University said that this pioneering service features an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system, enabling all stakeholders, including students, faculty, and staff, to express their concerns for prompt resolution,” .

She further emphasized that the University of Kashmir provides high-quality support and services to its community. The launch of this mobile helpline reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in academic administration.

Dr. Majid Zaman, the Controller of Examinations at Kashmir University told the Rising Kashmir that the university has established a dedicated mobile helpline number to assist with examination-related inquiries

“The mobile helpline number, 9718827412, is intended to offer timely support on various examination matters, including Degree Certificates and Transcripts, Results, Revaluation and Rechecking, Examination Forms, Admit Card information, and Billing and Awards, ” Zaman said

Controller of Examinations said that By calling the helpline number, users can navigate the IVR system to connect with a representative for additional assistance. This initiative seeks to enhance communication, decrease response times, and improve overall satisfaction among all university stakeholders,” he added.

Srinagar, 3 Sept: The National Child Development Council (NCDC) core committee convened on Monday, with members expressing deep concern over the escalating issue of women’s security across the country. The meeting highlighted the pervasive nature of women’s harassment, emphasizing the need for immediate attention and action.

During the meeting, NCDC members expressed concern over the safety of women at workplace, stating that women’s harassment is a widespread phenomenon affecting all parts of the country.

They stressed the importance of ensuring women’s safety, particularly in the workplace, with a focus on night shift duties. The members advocated for the presence of security guards to provide a secure environment for women employees working late hours.

The committee members acknowledged women’s progress in various fields but lamented the persistent harassment they face. They emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to address this issue.

One of the members suggested conducting counseling sessions to identify and address the problems faced by women.
