ACB arrests Patwari for accepting bribe of Rs 5000 in Anantnag

Srinagar, Aug 01 (KNO): Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday said to have trapped and arrested Patwari Halqa Fatehpora, District Anantnag for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 for issuing revenue records.

As per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), J&K Anti Corrupting Bureau received a complaint alleging therein that Mohammad Ayoub Hajam, Patwari, Halqa Fatehpora is demanding Rs 9000 as bribe for issuing certified copy of online mutation in respect of land which the wife of complainant had purchased in the month of February this year. However after negotiation the amount was settled as Rs 5000.

“The complainant chose not to pay bribe and instead approached Anti Corruption Bureau for taking legal action against the accused Patwari as provided under law,” the statement reads.

On receipt of the complaint, a discreet verification was conducted which confirms the demand by the said Patwari and accordingly a case under FIR number 04/2024 under section 7 of P/C Act 1988 was registered in PS ACB Anantnag and investigation was taken up.

“During the course of investigation a trap team was constituted. The team laid a successful trap and caught Patwari namely Mohammad Ayoub Hajam S/o Mohammad Ramzan R/o Vessu, District Anantnag red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5000 from the complainant. He was arrested on the spot by the ACB team. The bribe amount was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses associated with the trap team,” the statement reads, adding that further investigation of the instant case is going on—(KNO)

SSC MTS 2024 vacancies increased to 9583, last date to apply extended on ssc.gov.in

SSC MTS 2024: The total number of vacancies for SSC MTS and Havaldar examination now stands at 9,583 (3,439 for Havaldar and 6,144 for MTS).

SSC MTS 2024: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has informed that the number of Multi Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) vacancies to be filled through SSC MTS 2024 has been increased to 6,144 from the previously notified 4,887 vacancies. Along with the 3,439 Havaldar in CIBC and CBN vacancies, the total number now stands at 9,583. The notification can be checked on ssc.gov.in

Through a separate notification, the commission informed that the last date to apply for SSC MTS and Havaldar examination, 2024 has been extended to August 3, 2024. Previously, the deadline was July 31.

SSC MTS 2024: Notification on application deadline extension

The extension of the application deadline has led to modification of the cut-off date for determining eligibility conditions such as educational qualification and age limit. As per the recent announcement of the commission, the cut-off date for ascertaining eligibility will be now treated as August 3 instead of August 1.

However, the window for application correction – August 16 to 17 (11 pm) – will remain unchanged, the commission said.

The computer-based examination for SSC MTS and Havaldar is tentatively scheduled for October-November 2024. The detailed timetable will be announced later.

SSC MTS 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Age limit: To apply for the MTS vacancies, a candidate must be at least 18 and not more than 25 years old as on August 3 (as per the revised cut-off date).

For Havaldar vacancies, the age limit of candidates should be between 18 and 27 years as on August 3.

Relaxation in the upper age limit has been provided to reserved category candidates.

Educational qualification: A candidate needs to pass the Class 10 (Matriculation) examination or its equivalent examination from a recognised board on or before August 3.

SSC MTS 2024: About application fee and selection process

Candidates need to pay 100 as application fee for SSC MTS 2024. The application fee has been exempted for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Exservicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation.

To shortlist candidates, the commission will hold a Computer-Based Examination (CBE).

Those who have applied for Havaldar vacancies will have to appear for Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) after clearing the CBE round.

The Division of Fruit Science, Faculty of Horticulture, Shalimar, SKUAST Kashmir, has released an advertisement notice inviting applications for the position of Senior Project Associate II. The position is purely on a contractual basis and will be co-terminus with the project titled “Demonstration of Site Specific Apple Orcharding System vis a vis Nursery Development under Himalayan Agro Ecological conditions of Kashmir.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Essential Qualification: B.Sc. Horticulture/Agriculture and Post Graduate in Horticulture/Agriculture
  • Desirable Qualification: Research experience in temperate fruit crops, especially apple.

Remuneration

The selected candidate will receive a monthly emolument of Rs. 28,000/- + 16% HRA.

DSEK seeks report over poor implementation of staff deployment order

Srinagar — The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has sought compliance reports from all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) on implementation of the orders issued for detachment of the teaching and non-teaching staff working in different offices.

The move comes amid the complaints of the poor implementation of the orders earlier issued by the DSEK to all the CEOs to cancel the attachment or deployment of all the teaching and non-teaching staff working in different offices.

“I am directed to refer to this office order no 163-DSEK of 2024 dated, July 1 of 2024 regarding the subject cited above and to request you to furnish compliance and action taken report to this Directorate, immediately,” reads an official communication addressed to all the CEOs.

The CEOs have been asked to submit the details of all those employees (if any), who are yet to report their original place of posting with reasons and clarification.

“Also submit the report that whether the salary of such employees have been billed, drawn in violation to the aforesaid order, or otherwise,” the communication reads citing it as “Matter be treated on priority.”

Greater Kashmir earlier reported about the issue and highlighted the issue of unnecessary deployment of teachers in different offices. Later, the DSEK ordered cancellation of all the attachments and deployments of teachers in offices. However, complaints are pouring in from different districts that scores of teaching and non-teaching staff members are yet to join their original place of posting in clear violation of the DSEK orders.

These teaching and non-teaching members are either working in DC offices, SDM offices and Tehsil offices despite strict orders from DSEK to join their original place of postings.

In the wake of the f instructions from DSEK, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kupwara has written to all the concerned Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) with the directions to furnish the action taken report regarding the subject.

“The report must be submitted positively for apprising to the Director School Education Kashmir,” the communication reads. — (GK)

Vidyadhan Ladakh Class 11 Scholarship Program 2024 is an opportunity offered by the Sarojini Damodaran Foundation to Class 11 and 12 students of the union territory.

Established in 1999 by SD Shibulal (Co-founder and former CEO, Infosys) and Kumari Shibulal, (Sarojini Damodaran Foundation), this financial support helps to transform the lives of the underprivileged students in society by contributing to their higher education.
