Students accuse SSM College of withholding certificates, charging illegal fine in violation of KU directions

College VC denies charging penalty fees, accuses KU Dean Development of targeting institution to favour new private colleges; “Issue in our notice, committee formed, verification underway; University won’t stay silent, clarity within a week,” says KU’s Dean CDC, Prof. Khurshid

Srinagar: In a development that has sparked serious concern across the student community, several final-semester students of SSM College of Engineering have accused the institution of demanding illegal fines, failing them in internal subjects as retaliation, and withholding their certificates in open violation of the University of Kashmir’s (KU) explicit instructions.

A group of students told news agency JKNS that the college administration demanded fines ranging between ₹20,000 and ₹30,000 per student during their 8th semester. When they refused to pay the amount, the students said the college allegedly retaliated by marking them absent and failing them in two internal papers Industrial Training and Project Viva despite having completed all required work.

A student wishing anonymity said SSM College’s actions derailed their entire academic schedule, “We refused to pay the unjustified fine. After that, the college marked us absent and failed us in two internal papers even though we had completed all the requirements.”

Irony is that the college is demanding late fees even on registering backlog forms as well, student said.

According to the students, they then filed a formal complaint with the University of Kashmir, which immediately initiated an inquiry. They said KU found merit in their complaint and held fresh internal examinations under its own supervision.

Another student said, “The University of Kashmir supported us completely. They conducted our internal exams themselves and clearly instructed SSM College not to demand any fine or excessive amount from us.”

However, despite KU’s instructions, the students allege the college continues to insist on the same fine and has now begun withholding their certificates, jeopardising their academic future and job prospects.

Another student said, “Even after KU’s decision, the college still keeps demanding the fine. They are refusing to release our certificates. Our future is being held hostage.”

One of the students expressed deep concern about how the delay could impact those from financially weak backgrounds.

“If my degree or marks are delayed, my entire career will suffer. My family cannot afford these fines. The fear of losing opportunities because of this harassment is mentally exhausting.”

Another student highlighted concerns for those who have pending backlogs, “Students with backlogs are terrified. Their degrees might reach the college later, and there is a real fear that new fines will be imposed again before releasing them. This uncertainty is taking a toll on all of us.”

The students also alleged that SSM College has been charging arbitrary fees for years.

“We paid ₹10,000 as security deposit which was never refunded, ₹500 every semester for a registration form that costs ₹10, ₹20 for the principal’s signature, and ₹1,000 for parking our cars on a government road if we didn’t take their bus or hostel. These charges have become routine.”

Another student narrated how the issue escalated, “Months ago, during internal exams, we were forced to sign a deceptive form stating that SSM takes no fine. We refused. They then withheld our project viva signatures and pressured us again. When we approached KU, they supported us. But even after strict KU instructions, the college continues to demand the fine.”

“Our academic achievements and future prospects are at risk. The pressure is unbearable. We appeal to higher authorities to intervene immediately.”

Vice-Chairperson of SSM Dilafroz Qazi, when contacted, denied the allegations leveled against the college.

She told JKNS that “the college has not taken any kind of penalty fee from any student, adding that SSM College is the only institution with the lowest fee structure of ₹46,000 among all private colleges in the Valley.”

“There are some people who are trying to malign this institute and I want to repeat that we charge the lowest fees among all. Some people are trying to discredit us,” she said.

When asked about the Dean, College Development Council, University of Kashmir, who was also said to have knowledge about the matter, she alleged that ‘he is involved with some new institutes and is trying to create problems for the college.’

The Vice-Chairperson further said, “I am saying this on record, ours is the oldest college and the Dean is creating problems.”

“Some new institutions have come up and they may be acting in ‘connivance’ with the Dean,” she added.

She further alleged, “The Dean is telling students to come forward and file complaints against the college. Our Mechanical Engineering and other departments were closed earlier, yet this is the only college that has ‘not laid off’ its staff all our teachers are still on the rolls and the Dean is trying to create trouble.”

Earlier this week, the University of Kashmir issued a strong circular after receiving multiple complaints regarding excessive charges by private affiliated colleges.

The circular issued by the Assistant Registrar, College Development Council, states, “It has come to the notice of this office that certain affiliated private colleges are charging excess fees from students under various heads such as university service charges, promotional fee, etc. The fee fixed by the Fee Fixation Committee is inclusive of University Service Charges. The fee notification explicitly mentions that no other fee shall be charged other than examination fee and eligibility fee.”

The notice further directs, “All affiliated colleges are directed to charge fees strictly as per the notified structure and to furnish complete details of fees charged under all heads. Any deviation shall be viewed seriously and will invite appropriate action.”

Despite KU’s firm directive, students maintain that SSM College has not stopped demanding the fine nor released their certificates.

They have appealed to the authorities to step in, saying the ongoing situation has escalated beyond a fee dispute and now directly threatens their careers, academic timelines, and mental well-being.

Speaking to JKNS, University of Kashmir’s Dean, College Development Council, Prof. Khurshid Ahmad said that a committee has been constituted and the issue is currently being examined.

He said, “The matter is already in our notice and we are monitoring it closely. I will personally follow up on it as well.”

Prof. Khurshid added, “A broader committee has been formed, and the university will not remain a silent spectator. We have written to the college regarding the issue, but the college has completely denied the allegations. However, we will thoroughly examine the complaints to ascertain the facts and take appropriate action.”

He further said, “I will personally review the issue again, and I hope and assure that the matter will be clarified within a week.” (JKNS)

JEE Main 2026 Form Correction — What Students Must Know

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will open the form correction window for JEE Main 2026 (Session 1) on 1 December 2025, giving applicants a final chance to review and correct certain details. The window will remain open until 2 December 2025 (11:50 PM IST).

This update is critical for aspirants, especially those who spotted errors after submitting their application forms. Whether it’s a misspelled name, incorrect date of birth, or exam city mismatch — this correction window offers a narrow but invaluable opportunity to fix them.

Below, we present a complete guide: what can be edited, what cannot, how to make corrections, common mistakes to avoid, and why this matters.

✅ What Can You Change During the Correction Window

According to the NTA’s correction facility notice, the following fields can be edited when the correction window is live.

  • Candidate’s Name, or Father’s name, or Mother’s name (only one among these)
  • Date of Birth (DOB)
  • Gender
  • Category / Sub-category / PwD status (if applicable and relevant certificate provided)
  • Class 10th details (board, roll number, passing year etc.)
  • Class 12th / equivalent exam details
  • State Code of Eligibility (if changed/needed)
  • Examination city preference (exam centre city)
  • Medium of examination (English/Hindi, etc.)
  • Signature (re-upload signature if required)
  • Course/paper preference (e.g. B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, etc. – ability to add papers)
  • Identity details (for candidates who registered with a government identity other than Aadhaar)

It’s important to note that this is a one-time opportunity — once you make changes and submit, the form will be final (frozen).

❌ What You Cannot Change

Despite the correction window, some fields remain locked. Candidates cannot modify:

  • Mobile number and email address
  • Permanent address or correspondence address, and/or emergency contact details
  • Uploaded photograph (photo uploaded during submission)

Hence, candidates must ensure these details are accurate before final submission.

🛠️ How to Make Corrections — Step by Step Guide

If you need to correct your submitted form, follow these steps carefully:

  1. Visit the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  2. Click on “Registered Candidate Login” (or similar link for correction).
  3. Log in using your application number and password (or date of birth as required).
  4. Once logged in, locate the “Application Correction” / “Correction in Particulars” link — it will lead you to your submitted form.
  5. Review all the editable fields. Make only the necessary corrections — avoid unnecessary juggling to reduce risk of mistakes.
  6. If you are changing category, opting for additional papers, or changing exam city to a location/facility that charges extra, be ready to pay additional fee (if applicable).
  7. After corrections, submit the form to finalize changes. Download and keep a printout of the confirmation page — good for future reference (counseling, admit card, etc.).

Make sure the corrections are final — there’s no second chance once the window closes.

🧑‍🎓 Why This Correction Window Matters

Avoid Mistakes that Can Cost You

Many aspirants make mistakes during initial application — spelling errors, wrong DOB, selecting the wrong exam city, uploading blurry photo or wrong signature, or misreporting academic details. Such errors can lead to:

  • Rejection of application.
  • Issues in admit-card generation, or seat allotment.
  • Problems during exam verification, counselling, or further admission processes.

This correction window gives students a vital second chance to ensure accuracy.

Changing Mindsets / Last-Minute Decisions

Sometimes, candidates change their minds about exam city preference (maybe due to convenience or travel constraints), or decide to opt for an additional paper (e.g. B.Arch along with B.Tech). The correction window allows such flexibility — without having to reapply entirely.

⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid (and What to Double-Check)

Even during correction, many aspirants mess up — here are frequent errors and tips to avoid them:

Mistake / Risk Advice / Tip
Entering name/DOB/parent names that don’t match official documents Cross-verify with Class 10/12 certificate or birth certificate before editing.
Uploading blurry or incorrect signature after correction Ensure the signature is clear, within prescribed dimensions/format. Use correct scan/resolution.
Changing exam city without verifying commute/travel feasibility Choose a city you can reach comfortably, considering date/time of exam and transportation.
Forgetting to download final confirmation page after corrections Always save a copy — may be required during counseling/admit card download.
Ignoring additional fee (if applicable) while changing certain details (category, papers, exam city abroad) Be ready with payment mode (debit/credit card, net banking, UPI) before submitting.

  5. Re-upload signature (if needed) ensuring clarity and correct size.
  6. If changing papers or category, ensure payment of additional fees (if applicable).
  7. Submit and download/print final confirmation page for records.

📣 Conclusion: Don’t Miss This One-Time Opportunity

For thousands of aspirants nationwide, the JEE Main 2026 form correction window is more than just a technical formality — it’s a last chance to ensure that every detail of their application is accurate. From name spellings and DOB to exam city choices, even a minor mistake can lead to serious complications: from messed up admit cards to disqualification or seat-allocation issues.

So, if you’ve filled your form and submitted it — don’t ignore this correction window. Treat 1–2 December 2025 as a deadline you must meet. Log in, cross-verify, correct, and submit confidently.

Remember: once submitted, the form is frozen — there’s no second chance. Missing this window could cost you dearly in the high-stakes race towards engineering college admissions.

Wishing all aspirants the best for JEE Main 2026! 💪

RRB NTPC UG Recruitment 2025: Apply Online for 3058 Non-Technical Posts, Last Date 04 December

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced recruitment under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) 07/2025 for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) — Undergraduate level (i.e. 12th-pass / 10+2) posts.

This recruitment drive is part of the larger 2025-26 batch of NTPC hiring, which also includes Graduate-level posts under CEN 06/2025.

In total, there are 3,058 undergraduate-level vacancies announced for 2025.

The goal: to fill various clerical and ticketing posts (and similar roles) across the Indian Railways for candidates who have completed their 12th standard (or equivalent).

Key Vacancies & Posts under UG-NTPC 2025

For 12th-pass (Undergraduate-level) candidates, the posts being recruited under this drive include:

Post Name Description / Nature of Work
Commercial cum Ticket Clerk (CCTC) Handling ticketing operations — issuing tickets, reservations, counters, etc.
Accounts Clerk cum Typist Clerical work involving accounts, typing (with specified typing speed) and related admin tasks.
Junior Clerk cum Typist General clerical duties, typing work.
Trains Clerk Administrative / clerical tasks related to train operations or office-level railway functions.

Vacancy breakup (as per 2025 notification summary): total 3,058 posts across the above categories.

As per older/notification documents, other similar clerical-level posts may also be considered under UG-NTPC depending on zones.

Pay / Initial Salary: For UG-level posts under 7th CPC — initial pay roughly ₹19,900 per month (for clerical/ticket-clerk/typist roles) as per standard 7th CPC Level 2 / 3 for such posts.

This makes it a significant government-job opportunity for 12th-pass youth seeking stable and prestigious employment in Indian Railways.

Who is Eligible? Educational & Age Criteria

One of the first checks before applying is eligibility. Here are the key eligibility criteria for UG-level (CEN 07/2025) NTPC posts.

Educational Qualification

  • Must have passed 12th standard (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • For certain posts like Accounts Clerk cum Typist, a minimum typing speed may be required (e.g., 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi) as per the notification.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 18 years (as on the cut-off date)
  • Maximum age: 30 years (for UG posts) as per 2025 notification.
  • The relevant date for age reckoning is typically as per notification (for 2025: as on 01.01.2026 for age limit check)

Important: Age limit relaxations or other category-based exceptions (if any) are per notification rules. Candidates should check carefully in the official PDF.

Thus, suitable candidates are 12th-pass individuals (or equivalent), aged between approximately 18–30 years, having basic typing skills (if required by post).

Important Dates — Application, Fee Payment, Correction & Scribe Registration

As per the latest corrige ndum issued by RRB for CEN 07/2025 (Undergraduate posts), the timeline for application and related processes has been updated.

Key dates to keep in mind:

Event Date (Revised / To-be read as)
Closing date of submission of online application 04.12.2025 (23:59 hours)
Last date for application fee payment 06.12.2025 (for submitted applications)
Modification window for corrections (with payment of modification fee) 07.12.2025 to 16.12.2025
Dates for scribe-details (for eligible scribe candidates) submission 17.12.2025 to 21.12.2025
Date for reckoning age limit 01.01.2026

Because of the extension, candidates who may have missed earlier deadlines now have till 4th Dec 2025 to apply (subject to fee payment and other requirements). This makes the current window critical for those still interested.

Application Fee & Payment / Refund

The application fee for UG-level posts under RRB NTPC 2025 varies depending on category. As per general past information (though candidates should check official notification PDF for exact fee structure):

  • For General / OBC / EWS: ₹500/-
  • For SC / ST / EBC / Female / Transgender: ₹250/-

Refund Policy (on appearing for CBT / exam):

  • General / OBC / EWS: ₹400/- will be refunded (after first stage)
  • SC / ST / EBC / Female / Transgender: ₹250/- refunded on appearing.

Payment can be made via Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking / E-Challan (as applicable).

Because fees and refund structure provide some relief, many aspirants from reserved categories may find this an economically viable government job opportunity.

How to Apply Online — Step by Step

The application for RRB NTPC UG 2025 is completely online. Here’s a detailed guide on how to apply:

  1. Visit the official RRB application portal — typically rrbapply.gov.in (or regional RRB site as per zone).
  2. Click on “Apply Online” for CEN 07/2025 (Undergraduate).
  3. Create an account — provide basic details like name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID; then verify via OTP.
  4. On successful registration, you’ll receive a unique Registration ID. Save it carefully.
  5. Login with the registration ID and password. Fill the detailed application form: personal details, educational qualifications, category, address, etc.
  6. Upload scanned documents: photograph, signature, educational certificates, category certificate (if applicable), etc. Ensure file sizes and formats as per instructions.
  7. Select your preferred RRB zone (if applicable) and indicate post preference (if the form provides).
  8. Pay the application fee (if applicable). Remember the fee refund policy.
  9. Submit the form and print / download your confirmation for future reference.
  10. If there is a mistake or need to correct, use the modification window (07–16 Dec 2025) to correct details (with modification fee if required).

Important: Ensure all details are correct — mistakes might lead to rejection. Keep scanned documents and fee payment proof safe. Use correct category certificate if you claim reservation or fee concession.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Like previous NTPC recruitments, selection for UG-level posts will involve a Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by any applicable typing/skill test, and then document verification & medical exam.

Exam Stages

  1. CBT-1 (Computer Based Test – Stage 1)
  2. CBT-2 (if applicable / based on post or cut-offs) — depending on number of applicants and post.
  3. Typing Test / Skill Test — for posts requiring typing (e.g., Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist) or other clerical skills.
  4. Document Verification & Medical Examination — standard for final selection upon clearing earlier stages.

CBT Exam Pattern (For UG 12th-Level Posts)

According to the 2025 notification summary:

  • Total Questions: 100
    • General Awareness: 40 questions
    • Mathematics: 30 questions
    • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 questions
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Time Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes (90 minutes)
  • Marking Scheme:
    • Correct answer: +1 mark
    • Incorrect answer: –1/3 mark (negative marking)

For posts requiring typing or clerical skills, a separate typing/skill test will be conducted after CBT stages.

This ensures that only candidates with both good general aptitude and necessary typing/clerical skills are selected.

Why This Recruitment Matters — Significance & Opportunity

This 2025 UG-level NTPC recruitment is significant for several reasons:

  • Large Number of Vacancies: 3,058 seats — a substantial opportunity for 12th-pass candidates.
  • Stable Government Job: Indian Railways is among the most stable employers in India — with job security, benefits and scope for promotion. For many 10+2 qualified aspirants, this is a golden chance.
  • Accessible Eligibility: Since minimum qualification is 12th pass, the bar is accessible to many school-pass candidates. Even without a graduate degree, they can compete.
  • Fair Selection Process: Through national-level CBT, typing/skill test, document verification and medical exam — merit-based and transparent.
  • Fair Fee & Refund Policy: Reasonable application fee and partial refund for exam appearance — reduces financial burden on aspirants.

Given rising competition and demand for secure government jobs, this NTPC 2025 UG recruitment will attract lots of applicants — but for those who prepare well and meet criteria, it’s a great opportunity.

Important Considerations & What Applicants Should Watch Out For

While this recruitment offers a great opportunity, aspirants must be careful about some aspects:

  • Read the Notification Carefully: The official PDF (CEN 07/2025) contains important details — post-wise eligibility, typing speed, zone preferences, fee, instructions. Always refer to the official notification.
  • Check Typing / Skill Requirements: For Typist / Accounts-typist posts — ensure you meet the required typing speed (if applicable). Not meeting typing criteria may lead to disqualification even if you pass CBT.
  • Keep Documents Ready: Passport-size photograph, signature, category certificate (if applicable), 10+2 mark sheet / certificate and other documents must be scanned and uploaded per required format. Mistakes or poor quality can lead to rejection.
  • Apply Before Deadlines: Although deadline has been extended to 04.12.2025, procrastination is risky — server load, last-minute technical issues may arise. Submit well ahead of time.
  • Double-Check All Details Before Submission: Name spelling, date of birth, category, contact information, preferred RRB zone etc — once submitted, corrections may require fee (during modification window 07–16 Dec 2025).
  • Prepare Thoroughly for CBT + Typing Test: The CBT includes General Awareness, Maths, Reasoning — all need preparation. For typist jobs, typing speed and accuracy matter.
  • Stay Updated on Admit Cards, Exam Dates, Results: Download and print admit card when available; check exam city slip, roll number; after exam keep track of result / merit list, skill test schedule, document verification etc.

What’s New in 2025 — The Extension & Corrigendum

One of the major developments in this 2025 cycle is that the application deadline for UG-level posts was extended. Initially, the deadline was earlier but as per the most recent notice, the last date for submission has been extended to 04.12.2025 (23:59 hours).

Why this matters:

  • Candidates who missed earlier deadlines now get a second chance.
  • Allows more time for gathering documents / applying carefully (especially for reserved category applicants needing certificates).
  • Provides opportunity for those deciding at the last minute — but beware of last-minute rush.

However — because of the extension — correction window and scribe-registration windows are also scheduled after initial deadline: modifications allowed from 07–16 Dec; scribe-details submission from 17–21 Dec.

Thus, applicants should plan accordingly and be aware that some post-submission activity may extend into mid-December.

How Many Vacancies Are There — And What to Expect

Although official summary says 3,058 undergraduate-level vacancies, it’s worth understanding what that number represents and realistic expectations:

  • 3,058 is the total across India, across multiple RRB zones. So distribution among states/regions may vary depending on regional needs.
  • The competition will be nationwide — many 12th-pass candidates will apply — so cut-offs / merit threshold may be high depending on exam difficulty and applicant volume.
  • Not all posts will require the same skill (e.g., some posts may need typing — limiting pool to those proficient).

Historically, roles like Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Accounts / Junior Clerk, Ticketing / Reservation clerks are in demand — so expect stiff competition.

But with determined preparation, knowing syllabus and exam pattern, and clearing CBT + typing (if required), genuinely qualified candidates stand a fair chance.

What to Do Now — Checklist for Interested Candidates

If you’re reading this and planning to apply, here’s a recommended checklist:

  1. Download and read the official notification PDF (CEN 07/2025) — understand eligibility, post-wise requirements, age limit, typing test needs, documents required.
  2. Check if you meet eligibility — 12th pass (or equivalent), age between 18–30, typing speed (if required), other criteria.
  3. Collect required documents — 12th certificate/marksheet, identity proof (Aadhaar / PAN / etc.), photograph, signature, category certificate (if applicable), etc — scan them as per size & dimension guidelines.
  4. Register on RRB portal ASAP — create account, get registration ID.
  5. Fill application form carefully — personal details, education, contact info, zone preference, post preference. Double-check all entries (spelling, date of birth, category, etc.) to avoid mistakes.
  6. Pay application fee (if applicable) — before deadline (06.12.2025). Keep fee payment receipt / confirmation.
  7. Submit form and download confirmation / print copy — save registration ID, login credentials, application pdf.

What This Means for 12th-Pass Youth & Aspirants

For many young Indians who have completed 12th standard and may not immediately pursue higher education, this UG-level NTPC recruitment 2025 offers a real and prestigious government job opportunity:

  • Railway jobs historically offer job security, allowances, pension benefits, transfers and long-term stability.
  • For youth from smaller towns or economically weaker backgrounds — this represents stability + regular pay + chance for growth/promotion over time.
  • Given high competition for graduate-level jobs, a 12th-pass eligibility opens doors to those not continuing into university.
  • Because exam is objective (CBT) + typing/skill test (for certain posts), even 12th-pass candidates with modest resources can prepare and compete on fairly equal footing.

Thus, this recruitment could reshape the careers of many aspirants — providing a launchpad for a secure, respectful railway job.

Common Questions & Myths — Clarified

Here are some frequently asked questions (and clarifications) about RRB NTPC 2025 UG recruitment:

Q: Can a 12th-pass candidate apply for NTPC Graduate posts too?

  • No. Graduate-level posts (CEN 06/2025) require a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/board. UG-level posts (CEN 07/2025) are only for 12th-pass candidates.

Q: What if I am above 30 years of age?

  • For UG-level posts, maximum age limit is 30 as on cut-off date (usually 01.01.2026). If you exceed, you are not eligible.
  • There might be age-relaxation provisions for reserved categories — check official notification.

Q: Are the posts transferable across India or zone-specific?

  • As with previous NTPC recruitments — zone preference (or regional RRB) may be indicated. Depending on vacancy distribution and RRB zone, posting could vary. Applicants should check notification for zone/post-preference options.

Q: Do all posts require typing test?

  • No. Typing / skill test is only required for those clerical/ typist posts (e.g. Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist). For posts like Ticket Clerk or other non-clerical UG-level jobs, CBT may suffice.

Q: Is there a negative marking in CBT?

  • Yes. For each incorrect answer, there is a penalty of –1/3 mark.

Q: Is application fee refundable?

  • Partially — for those appearing in CBT / exam, a refund is applicable (₹400 for general / OBC / EWS; ₹250 for SC / ST / EBC / Female / Transgender) as per previous NTPC fee policy.

Seize the Chance

The 2025 Undergraduate-level NTPC recruitment by RRB (CEN 07/2025) — with 3,058 vacancies, 12th-pass eligibility, and posts like Ticket Clerk, Accounts/Junior Clerk, Trains Clerk, etc. — represents one of the most important opportunities for youths aiming for a stable government job in Indian Railways.

With the extended deadline (now 04.12.2025), there’s still time to register — but given the high competition, it’s crucial to act quickly, apply carefully, and prepare earnestly.

For a 12th-pass candidate with ambition, sincerity and discipline — this could be a life-changing step.

If you are applying — read the official notification thoroughly, fill the form carefully, meet eligibility, prepare for CBT + typing/skill test, and submit before deadline.

Wishing all aspirants — best of luck! May you get a seat in the mighty Indian Railways 🚂

J&K BOPEE Issues Corrigendum: New Dates for AYUSH/BPT Course Admissions (2nd-Round 2025)

J&K BOPEE Issues Corrigendum: New Dates for AYUSH/BPT Course Admissions (2nd-Round 2025)

The J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has issued an important corrigendum to its 2nd-round counselling notification for 2025 admissions into AYUSH/BPT courses (BAMS/BUMS/BHMS/BPT) for candidates from the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The revised schedule and updated instructions have implications for vacant seat allotments and further admission processes.

🔎 What’s Changed

  • The Board had originally set the period for online preference/choice submission from 26-11-2025 to 28-11-2025 (as per notification No. 181 – BOPEE of 2025).
  • Provisional allotment lists (for seats in Government and Private Colleges/Institutions) were notified under notification No. 185 – BOPEE of 2025 ( dated 29-11-2025 ), along with Annexure-A (provisionally selected candidates) and Annexure-B (waiting list).
  • Initially, the selected candidates were asked to report to allotted colleges from 29-11-2025 (3:00 PM) to 01-12-2025 (1:00 PM).
  • For candidates on waiting list, reporting was scheduled 01-12-2025 (1:00 PM to 5:30 PM) — but only if seats remain vacant after those from Annexure-A joined.
  • However, following a recent directive from the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (under the Ministry of AYUSH), the BOPEE has extended the cutoff-date for Standard/UT counselling (AYUSH UG 2025-26) to 10 December 2025.

As a result, the waiting-list process (Annexure-B) — as notified under 29-11-2025 corrigendum — has been declared inoperative and withdrawn ab initio, and the Board will conduct one more round of counselling before the final cut-off date (10-12-2025).

All other contents of the original notification remain unchanged. Provisionally selected candidates (Annexure-A) are still required to report to their allotted colleges between 29-11-2025 (3:00 PM) and 01-12-2025 (4:00 PM) for completion of admission formalities.

Why This Matters

  • The withdrawal of the waiting-list procedure means candidates who were relying on possible vacant seat allotment via Annexure-B need to stay alert for the upcoming third round.
  • The extension till 10-December offers additional opportunity for eligible candidates to secure admission.
  • This update reflects compliance with the nationwide schedule for AYUSH UG 2025-26 admissions as mandated by the regulatory authority.

What Candidates Should Do Now

  1. Provisionally selected candidates (Annexure-A): Ensure you report to your allotted college between 29-Nov-2025 (3:00 PM) and 1-Dec-2025 (4:00 PM) to complete admission formalities.
  2. Candidates on waiting list (Annexure-B): The waiting list is no longer active — but stay tuned for announcements about the next round of counselling.
  3. All eligible AYUSH/BPT aspirants: Keep updated via the BOPEE website for details on the upcoming third counselling round before 10-Dec-2025.

Official Notification Details

  • Ref: Corrigendum to Notification No. 185-BOPEE of 2025 (dated 29-11-2025)
  • Date of Corrigendum: 30-11-2025
  • Issued by: Controller of Examinations, J&K BOPEE

Final Thoughts

With this corrigendum, the admission process for AYUSH & BPT courses in J&K and Ladakh is now extended — offering a renewed chance for aspirants to secure seats. Candidates should act promptly: provisionally selected students to complete their admission formalities within the stipulated window, and all other hopefuls to stay alert for the next counselling round.

For complete details, candidates are advised to refer to the official BOPEE notice on the Board’s website.

Important Updates from JKBOSE — November 2025

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has released several important notifications related to examinations, affiliation procedures, fee changes, and a proposed two-level mathematics exam scheme. The updates aim to streamline processes and solicit public feedback where appropriate.

What’s New

  • On 19 November 2025, JKBOSE issued Notification No. 36/HSP-II/Annual (Private)/Bi-Annual, 2024, updating rules for the Class 12th Annual (Private) and Bi-Annual 2024 session.
  • On 17 November 2025 and 19 November 2025, the board released Notification No. 10 and Notification No. 13 — pertaining to the 2025 HSP-II (Class 12) Annual (Private) / Bi-Annual session.
  • A new notification has been issued regarding the introduction of fees for institutional-level changes — including change of nomenclature, change of location, switching affiliation, and re-inspection of institutions.

Why These Updates Matter

These notifications reflect JKBOSE’s ongoing efforts to regulate and standardize procedures for examinations, affiliations, and institutional changes. Some key implications:

  • The fee structure for institutional changes will impact schools/colleges wishing to change their name, location or affiliation status — an important regulatory step that may affect many private institutions.
  • The public consultation on the two-level mathematics exam scheme suggests that the board is considering structural changes to how mathematics is assessed — potentially affecting future students.
  • The practical-exam circular ensures that vocational subject assessments follow clear, standardized protocols, which is significant for the credibility and reliability of exam results.

What Students and Institutions Should Do

  • Students — especially those enrolled under Annual (Private) or Bi-Annual sessions — should check the updated notifications (Nos. 10, 13, 36 and others) on the official JKBOSE website for any changes to exam schedules or regulations.
  • Institutions planning any change of name, affiliation, or location should review the fee-introduction notification and follow the prescribed application process.
  • Stakeholders interested in the proposed two-level mathematics scheme — including students, parents, teachers — may participate in the public consultation process once details are announced.
  • Schools offering vocational courses need to follow the new practical-exam protocol strictly to avoid discrepancies during evaluations.

No SIM, No Access: India Orders Messaging Apps to Verify Active SIM Cards

Govt orders WhatsApp, Telegram, other apps to block access without active SIM

New Delhi: The Indian government has issued a major directive that could change how millions of people use popular messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Snapchat, ShareChat, JioChat, Arattai, and Josh.

According to reports, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has asked these platforms to ensure that their services cannot be used unless the user has an active SIM card in their device.

This move comes under the new Telecommunication Cybersecurity Amendment Rules, 2025, which bring app-based communication services under telecom-style regulation for the first time.

Under the new rules, these apps — officially termed Telecommunication Identifier User Entities (TIUEs) — must ensure that a user’s SIM card remains continuously linked to the app within 90 days.

For people using these platforms on web browsers, the government has added another layer of security.

Apps will now be required to automatically log users out every six hours and ask them to log in again through a QR code.

The DoT says this system will make it harder for criminals to misuse these services remotely, as every session must be tied to an active and verified SIM, as per the reports.

Officials say the rule aims to close a major gap in how communication apps verify users. At present, most apps only verify a mobile number once — during installation.

After that, the app continues working even if the SIM is removed or becomes inactive. According to reports, the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) highlighted that this behaviour allows apps to function independently of SIM cards, which creates opportunities for misuse.

Cybercriminals, including those operating from outside India, are known to exploit this loophole.

Even after changing or deactivating SIM cards, they can continue using these apps, making it extremely difficult for authorities to trace fraud through call records, location logs, or telecom data.

The COAI said that making SIM binding mandatory would keep a reliable link between the user, the number, and the device, which could help reduce spam, fraud calls, and financial scams.

Similar security checks already exist in other sectors. Banking and UPI apps require strict SIM verification to prevent unauthorised access, while SEBI has proposed linking SIM cards to trading accounts and using facial recognition for added security.

Experts, however, are divided on the issue. Some cybersecurity professionals told MediaNama that the move may have limited impact, as scammers can still use forged or borrowed IDs to get new SIM cards.

On the other hand, telecom industry representatives argue that mobile numbers remain India’s strongest digital identity and believe the new rules could strengthen cybersecurity and accountability.–(IANS)

In November 2025, the bank released a job notification inviting applications for 12 high-level leadership positions on a contractual basis. The recruitment — under Advertisement Number BOB/HRM/REC/ADVT/2025/15 — aims to reinforce BOB’s senior management teams across multiple domains including technology, finance, risk, digital banking, retail banking, defence banking, and information security.

This article provides a comprehensive overview of the recruitment drive: key dates, vacancy details, eligibility criteria, how to apply, and what prospective candidates should know.

What’s the Recruitment About — Overview

The drive reflects BOB’s efforts to onboard leadership-level professionals in critical verticals as the bank scales its operations, digital infrastructure, risk management and retail footprint.

Posts & Vacancy Breakdown

Here’s a detailed breakdown of the 12 posts which are open under this recruitment drive:

Post No. of Vacancies
Senior Vice President (Dy. Chief Technology Officer – Dy. CTO) 1
Senior Vice President (Dy. Chief Financial Officer – Dy. CFO) 1
Senior Vice President (Dy. Chief Digital Officer – Dy. CDO) 1

⚠️ Note: Some sources list 3 vacancies for “Dy. VP – Bulk Retail,” while others combine “Dy. VP – Bulk Retail” and “Dy. VP – Deputy Head IS Audit.” However, the total number of posts sums to 12 under the advertisement.

By offering roles across technology, finance, risk, digital transformation, retail banking and defence banking, BOB appears to be bolstering its leadership bench in response to evolving banking demands, regulatory complexity, digital disruption and expansion of retail & defence-banking operations.

Eligibility Criteria & Desired Profile

While detailed eligibility criteria vary by post, the broad requirements and expectations for most senior roles are outlined below:

  • Educational qualifications can range from Engineering graduate / B.E./B.Tech (for technology or digital roles) to Chartered Accountant (CA) for financial roles, or Graduate / Post-Graduate in any discipline for managerial or generalist roles.
  • For posts like Dy. CISO (Information Security), preferred background includes degrees in Computer Science, IT, Electronics & Communication, Cyber Security or relevant postgraduate courses.
  • The candidate must have significant prior experience. According to one summary, most Senior Vice President level roles expect a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
  • For certain posts, age limits are indicated (though these are indicative and may vary depending on specific role): for example, many SVP-level roles mention a maximum age around 55 years (as on a reference date) for eligibility.
  • For all posts, candidates must carefully refer to the detailed official notification PDF (advertisement 2025/15) to confirm precise eligibility — especially for education, experience, age and any domain-specific requirements.

Given the seniority of the roles, BOB will likely prioritize candidates with a proven track record in banking/finance/technology/digital transformation/risk management or defence banking, depending on the role applied for.

Application Process: Step-by-Step

If you plan to apply for any of these positions, here’s how to do it:

  1. Visit BOB’s official website: bankofbaroda.bank.in. Navigate to Career → Current Opportunities.
  2. Look for the advertisement with reference number BOB/HRM/REC/ADVT/2025/15. Download the notification PDF and read all instructions carefully — especially regarding eligibility, post-wise qualification/experience, required documents, etc.
  3. Click on the “Apply Online” link (activated from 10 November 2025) to open the application form.
  4. Fill in the form completely and accurately. Upload scanned copies of photograph, signature, educational certificates, experience certificates, DOB proof and any necessary category certificates (if applying under a reserved quota) as per the instructions.
  5. Pay the application/intimation fee (if applicable) through the online payment gateway before submitting the form. The bank may have specified fee norms — usually non-refundable.
  6. Submit the form before the deadline — 30 November 2025 (23:59 hours). After submission, it is advisable to download and keep a printout or save a PDF copy of the submitted application and payment confirmation for future reference.

What’s in It for Candidates — Why This Recruitment Matters

This recruitment drive by BOB offers a high-value opportunity for seasoned professionals. Here are some compelling reasons why candidates should consider applying:

  • Leadership roles with influence: The advertised posts are senior-level leadership positions (SVP, VP, DVP) — meaning selected candidates will likely have significant responsibility, decision-making power, and influence over key bank functions.
  • Diverse verticals: With openings in technology, digital banking, finance, risk, defence banking, bulk retail, information security, talent acquisition — there are opportunities for professionals from a variety of backgrounds (tech, finance, operations, HR, risk, cyber, etc.).
  • National-level exposure: Since the job location is “anywhere in India,” selected professionals could get exposure to pan-India banking operations, varied regional markets, and large-scale projects — making this ideal for those seeking mobility and broad experience.
  • Contractual but strategic hires: BOB seems to be hiring “on-contract” for these senior posts — likely to bring fresh ideas, domain expertise, and agility into leadership. For experienced professionals who may not want long-term employment but wish to work on key projects or transformations, this could be an attractive proposition.
  • Strong institutional brand & stability: BOB, being a major public-sector bank with decades of legacy and pan-India presence, offers job security, credibility, and a stable environment even on contractual roles — something that many purely private firms might not provide.

Things to Keep in Mind / Important Tips

Given the seniority and competitive nature of these posts, interested candidates should be careful about the following:

  • Read the notification carefully: Each post has specific qualification + experience + age + role-requirement criteria. Make sure your background matches the post before applying. A mismatch may lead to outright rejection.
  • Quality of documentation: As part of application, you need to submit educational certificates, experience letters, DOB proof, and possibly category/reservation certificates (if eligible). Ensure all scans are clear, legible, and properly certified (if required).
  • Realistic expectations about contract terms: Contractual roles may have different terms (duration, perks, benefits) compared to permanent roles. Before applying, be prepared to consider contract length, renewal possibilities, posting locations, responsibilities, and compensation package.
  • Strong CV and profile: Since the bank is hiring senior professionals, your application must have a robust CV — highlighting relevant past roles, achievements, domain expertise (especially in banking, finance, technology, risk, operations, or leadership), and fit for the role.
  • Timely application: The window is finite (ending 30 November 2025). Delays in form submission, uploading documents, or fee payment may lead to disqualification.

Broader 2025 Hiring at Bank of Baroda — More Than Just Senior Posts

While the 12-post senior recruitment drive is high-profile, BOB’s 2025 hiring spree has been quite broad. A few other recruitment efforts in the same year highlight the bank’s multi-pronged strategy to strengthen workforce across levels:

  • Apprentice Recruitment 2025: BOB has opened about 2,700+ apprentice positions across India — aiming to bring fresh graduates on board and possibly build a talent pipeline for future hires.
  • Specialist / Officer & Manager-Level Vacancies: Earlier in 2025, BOB had announced 330+ vacancies under various scales (Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, AVP, etc.) across departments like MSME, Digital, Risk, Cybersecurity, and Product.
  • Sub-staff (Office Assistant / Peon) Recruitment: For entry-level positions, BOB also issued notification (Advt No. 2025/05) for 500 Office Assistant (Peon) posts — useful for candidates seeking stable jobs without specialized qualifications.

This shows that BOB’s 2025 hiring is not limited to just one cadre — rather, the bank is building resources across the hierarchy: from entry-level staff to senior leadership and everything in between. For aspirants across experience levels and qualifications, this year offers a variety of opportunities.

Who Should Apply — Ideal Candidate Profiles

Given the diversity of posts, here’s a rough idea of who might benefit from applying:

  • Seasoned banking/finance professionals with 12–20+ years of experience in finance, audit, risk, treasury, or general banking — ideal for roles like Dy. CFO, Dy. CRO, or Bulk Retail head.
  • Technology or IT leaders — engineers, IT managers, digital banking experts — with experience in banking/ fintech / digital transformation — as prospective candidates for Dy. CTO, Dy. CDO, or Dy. CISO roles.
  • Cybersecurity / information security experts — with background in IT security, audits, compliance — suitable for the Dy. Chief Information Security Officer or Deputy Head IS Audit positions.
  • HR / Talent Acquisition professionals — with strong experience in hiring, organizational development, talent management — potential fit for the VP – Talent Acquisition role.
  • Retail banking / business development veterans — experienced in managing large-scale retail banking operations, bulk retail strategies, customer acquisition and operations — suited for Bulk Retail SVP / DVP roles.
  • Defence-banking / niche banking specialists — background in working with defence clientele, understanding of defence banking needs — relevant for Chief Defence Banking (CDB) role.

In short: mid- to senior-level professionals who have domain expertise, leadership experience, and readiness to take on responsibility at the national level are the ideal candidates.

What This Signals About Bank of Baroda’s Strategy

BOB’s decision to open 12 senior-level posts across varied verticals in a single recruitment drive (alongside junior-level and apprentice recruitment) suggests several strategic priorities:

  1. Strengthening Leadership Bench: By hiring experienced professionals on contract, BOB seems to be aiming at strengthening its top-management pool — possibly to drive transformation, innovation, digitalization, and expansion more aggressively.
  2. Digital & Technology Focus: Presence of roles like Dy. Chief Technology Officer, Dy. Chief Digital Officer, Dy. Chief Information Security Officer indicates increasing emphasis on digital banking, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, and technology-driven banking services.
  3. Risk Management & Compliance Readiness: Role of Dy. Chief Risk Officer shows that the bank is preparing to reinforce risk management frameworks — an important move in an evolving regulatory and economic environment.
  4. Retail & Bulk Banking Expansion: Vacancies for Bulk Retail SVP/DVP point toward a strategic thrust in retail banking and large-scale retail operations — likely to capture more retail customers, deepen outreach, and grow retail deposit & loan portfolios.
  5. Talent Acquisition & Internal Audit Strengthening: By hiring VP of Talent Acquisition and Deputy Head IS Audit, BOB shows focus on getting the right talent pipeline and ensuring robust internal audit & compliance standards — key for growth with stability.
  6. Inclusive Hiring Across Levels: Alongside senior posts, the bank’s parallel recruitment of apprentices, sub-staff, middle-management signals a holistic workforce strategy — blending experience with fresh talent for balanced growth.

Thus, this 2025 recruitment appears to be part of a larger long-term plan by BOB to modernize, expand, and evolve in a dynamically changing banking sector.

A: Yes — applications must be submitted online through the BOB careers portal.

Q: Can I apply to multiple posts?
A: The notification may allow applying for more than one post (if eligible). However, ensure you meet the specific eligibility criteria (qualification, experience) for each post before applying.

How to Maximize Your Chances — Application Tips

  • Carefully match your profile to the post being applied for. For example, an IT-background candidate should preferably apply for Dy. CTO / Dy. CDO / Dy. CISO roles.
  • Update résumé/CV and cover letter with clear articulation of past experience, achievements, leadership record, domain expertise and suitability for the specific role.
  • Prepare required documents (education, experience certificates, photo, signature, identity proof) in advance — and ensure scanned copies meet BOB’s specifications (size, resolution, format).
  • Apply well before the deadline, to avoid last-minute server issues or payment gateway problems.
  • Check the official notification PDF thoroughly — for age limit, reservations / relaxations (if applicable), and any special conditions (e.g. location preferences, bond terms, contract duration).
  • If shortlisted, be ready for interview / selection process — since senior roles will involve evaluation of domain knowledge, leadership ability, and fit for banking environment.

The 2025 senior-level recruitment drive by Bank of Baroda represents a significant opportunity for experienced professionals across technology, finance, digital banking, retail banking, risk, defence banking and human resources. With only 12 high-value posts on offer, the competition will be intense and only those with strong credentials, relevant domain expertise and readiness to take responsibility at a national level should apply.

For those who meet the criteria, this could be a chance to play a key role in shaping the future of one of India’s oldest and largest public-sector banks — contributing to digital transformation, expansion of banking outreach, risk management, and long-term growth.

If you’re considering applying — now is the time. Download the notification, assess your eligibility, prepare all documents, and submit your application before 30 November 2025.
