  • Preventing cancellation of admission due to non-compliance.

Consequences of Non-Compliance

  • Seat Cancellation: If a candidate fails to report within the stipulated time or does not furnish original documents, their admission will be cancelled.

  • Loss of Seat: Candidates who do not join the allotted institution within the deadline will lose their seat permanently, and it may be offered to another candidate in subsequent rounds.

Role of Colleges and Institutions

Colleges play a vital role in the finalization of the admission process. Their responsibilities include:

  • Verifying the original certificates submitted by candidates.
  • Referring disabled candidates to the Special Medical Board.

JKBOSE Yet to Decide on Syllabus Relaxation for Class 10th, 11th & 12th Exams Amid Disruptions

0

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) is yet to decide about the relaxation in the syllabus for the students in their upcoming class 10th to 12th examinations.

The move comes days after the minister of education Sakina Itoo said that the routine academics in schools was badly hit during the current academic session in wake of the war like situation and recent floods in Jammu and Kashmir.

The minister said that the government had to close the schools during the war like situation (Operation Sindoor) and the recent flood like situation which had an impact in the completion of the syllabus. The minister said that the government was taking feedback from students and parents and will take measures to address the situation in the interest of the students.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, Secretary JKBOSE, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh said that it was too early to announce any relaxation in exams for students in their upcoming annual exams. “This is not the right time to decide about the syllabus relaxation. It is too early to decide as the academic session is going on and we still have one and a half months left,” Secretary JKBOSE told Greater Kashmir.

He said the annual Board exams will tentatively commence after the first week of November this year. “To begin with, class 10th exams will begin first followed by the commencement of class 11th and 12th examinations,” he said. He said the Board will assess the status of syllabus completion once the session concludes. “Right now it is too early to decide about it. Some stakeholders have brought it to the notice of JKBOSE but we are seeing the variables of the decision,” he said. He said the schools have one and a half months to complete the syllabus. “We will see how much of the syllabus will be completed till the last day of this session. We are also assessing for how many days schools remained closed during Operation Sindoor, heat wave and flood like situation,” he said. Secretary JKBOSE said that all the aspects are being taken care of by the government.

“Announcing anything right now would be too early. It is better to take the decision at the right time,” he said. He said the last date for submission of the examination forms was September 19, 2025 while the last date with late fees has been fixed as September 29, 2025. “Around 99.5 percent of students have submitted their exam forms. The date sheet will be notified a few days after the process of submission of exam forms gets completed,” he said. Meanwhile, as the new academic session is scheduled to commence from November, all eyes are on JKBOSE for timely distribution of textbooks in schools across Kashmir.

Secretary JKBOSE said they were hopeful to distribute the textbooks before the announcement of winter vacations for the schools. “The printing of textbooks is expected to be completed by November 20, 2025. Immediately after that we will start the distribution of textbooks in schools. We are hopeful that before the commencement of winter vacations, we will be able to distribute the textbooks,” he said.

Secretary JKBOSE said all the efforts will be given to hold the exams and distribute the textbooks on time. “We are doing whatever is humanly possible,” he said. (GK)

Labour Card Scholarship 2025 – Online Application, Eligibility, Benefits, Amount & Last Date

0

The Labour Card Scholarship 2025 is a welfare initiative launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment to provide financial assistance to the children of workers employed in the unorganised sector. With the rising cost of education, many students belonging to low-income families struggle to continue their studies, leading to high dropout rates. To address this concern, the government introduced this scholarship to ensure that children of labour card holders can pursue quality education without financial constraints. The scheme is open for students from primary school to professional courses, with financial support ranging from Rs 1,000 for lower classes to Rs 25,000 for higher education in professional streams. The scholarship not only supports academic growth but also aims to reduce socio-economic disparities by giving equal opportunities to underprivileged students.

One of the key highlights of the Labour Card Scholarship 2025 is its inclusiveness, as it covers a wide range of beneficiaries starting from Class 1 students to those pursuing ITI, Polytechnic, degree, and professional courses. The eligibility criteria are straightforward—students must belong to families of labourers who possess a valid labour card issued by the labour department, and the family income should fall below the prescribed limit. Additionally, applicants need to maintain good academic performance and regular attendance in their institutions. The required documents include a passport-sized photograph, labour card, income certificate, academic records, Aadhaar card, and bank account details for the direct transfer of scholarship funds. With these guidelines, the scheme ensures that only genuine candidates benefit from the assistance.

The scholarship offers a structured financial support system based on the level of education. Students from Class 1 to 4 receive Rs 1,000, those from Class 5 to 8 receive Rs 1,500, and students in Class 9 and 10 are entitled to Rs 2,000. The amount increases for senior secondary students (Class 11 and 12) who receive Rs 3,000, while ITI and Polytechnic students are granted Rs 6,000. For undergraduate degree courses, the assistance is also Rs 6,000, whereas students enrolled in professional courses such as engineering, medical, or law can avail up to Rs 25,000. This tiered approach ensures that the scholarship amount is aligned with the educational expenses at different stages, thus effectively supporting students throughout their academic journey. In addition to covering tuition fees, the scheme helps in meeting other academic expenses, ultimately easing the financial pressure on families.

The application process for the Labour Card Scholarship 2025 is fully online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at scholarships.gov.in. Students need to register on the portal, fill in their personal and academic details, upload the required documents, and submit the application. Once submitted, they can also track their application status online by logging in with their credentials. The tentative last date for applying is November 2025, and students are advised to apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues. For any queries, applicants can reach out to the official helpline at 0120-6619540 or email helpdesk@nsp.gov.in. Overall, the Labour Card Scholarship 2025 is a powerful step toward educational empowerment for children of labourers, aiming to uplift their standard of living and open doors to better career opportunities in the future.

Education is becoming increasingly expensive, and for children of low-wage workers, accessing quality education is a major challenge. To tackle this issue, the Ministry of Labour and Employment has introduced the Labour Card Scholarship 2025. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to the children of workers who hold a valid labour card, helping them pursue education without financial burden.

JK BOPEE Notification 134 of 2025: Admission to One MBBS Seat in Kerala Government Medical College under Reserve Nomination Quota

JK BOPEE Notification 134 of 2025: Admission to One MBBS Seat in Kerala Government Medical College under Reserve Nomination Quota

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JK BOPEE) has issued a fresh notification — Notification No. 134-BOPEE of 2025, dated 19-09-2025 — inviting applications for admission to one MBBS seat in a Kerala Government Medical College under the Reserve Nomination Quota.

This special seat is reserved for a candidate belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category from the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The opportunity arises from the inter-state nomination arrangements, which allow select candidates from J&K to pursue MBBS in Kerala.

The notification has generated interest among NEET aspirants, especially those from reserved categories, as such nomination seats are extremely limited and highly competitive.

Highlights of the Notification

  • Issuing Authority: J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JK BOPEE)
  • Notification No.: 134-BOPEE of 2025
  • Date of Issue: 19 September 2025
  • Seat Available: 01 (MBBS)
  • College: Kerala Government Medical College
  • Quota: Reserve Nomination Quota for J&K UT
  • Category Applicable: SC (Scheduled Caste) under Roster Point 2
  • Last Date of Application: 29 September 2025, up to 3:00 PM
  • Mode of Application: Offline, in the prescribed format (Annexure-A)

Eligibility Criteria

The seat is available only for candidates meeting strict eligibility conditions. The following rules apply:

  1. NEET-UG 2025 Qualification
The applicant must be a qualified candidate of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2025. Without a valid NEET scorecard, no application will be entertained.
  2. Highest Merit Preference
Among the applicants, the candidate with the highest merit in NEET-UG 2025 will be recommended for the seat.
  3. Domicile Requirement
Only candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply. A valid domicile certificate issued by the competent authority is mandatory.
  4. Reservation Roster
The reservation rules of the Social Welfare Department will be strictly followed. Since Roster Point No. 1 has already been used earlier, this time Roster Point No. 2 applies, which falls under the SC category. Therefore, only SC candidates are eligible for this seat.

Documents Required

The notification clearly specifies the list of documents to be enclosed with the application. Candidates must submit all documents in original along with self-attested copies. The required documents are:

  • Date of Birth Certificate (Matriculation)
  • 10+2 Marks Card
  • NEET-UG 2025 Score Card
  • Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority
  • Valid ID Proof (Aadhaar, Passport, etc.)
  • Two Passport Size Photographs

Applicants should carefully arrange and verify all documents before submission, as incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Application Process

  1. Mode of Application: The process is strictly offline. Candidates must fill in the prescribed format provided as Annexure-A in the notification.
  2. Submission Deadline: The application along with documents must be submitted to JK BOPEE by 29 September 2025, 3:00 PM.
  3. Late Applications: Applications received after the deadline will be rejected outright. No request for extension will be entertained.
  4. Selection Procedure: The selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit (NEET-UG score) and eligibility criteria. The name of the recommended candidate will be forwarded to the concerned department for further admission process.

Important Notes Mentioned in the Notification

  • Only SC candidates can apply: Applications from other categories will not be considered.
  • Submission does not guarantee selection: Mere submission of the form does not confer any right to claim the seat. The final decision will depend on merit and eligibility verification.
  • Strict compliance with rules: The process will adhere to the guidelines issued by the Higher Education Department, Government of J&K, via letter No. HED-Gen/96/2024-04 dated 15-09-2025.

Why This Notification Matters

Although it is just one seat, this notification is highly significant for several reasons:

  1. Opportunity for Reserved Candidates
Medical seats are among the most competitive in India. A reserved nomination seat exclusively for SC candidates in J&K provides a valuable chance for deserving students.
  2. Inter-State Educational Cooperation
The seat reflects cooperation between states/UTs to share educational opportunities. J&K students benefit from Kerala’s medical education infrastructure through this quota.
  3. Encouraging Social Equity
By ensuring representation of underprivileged categories in professional education, such steps contribute to social justice and inclusive development.

Guidance for Aspirants

Given the strict eligibility and limited availability, aspirants should approach this opportunity with caution and preparation. Here are some tips:

  • Verify NEET Qualification: Ensure you have the official NEET-UG 2025 scorecard and have crossed the qualifying cut-off.
  • Collect Documents Early: Don’t wait till the last date; gather and verify all certificates beforehand.
  • Fill Annexure-A Carefully: Any error in the prescribed application form could result in rejection.
  • Submit Before Deadline: Offline submission means you should plan for postal delays or travel issues. Ideally, submit well before 29 September.
  • Keep Copies: Always keep photocopies of your application and attached documents for your records.

Challenges for Candidates

  • Only One Seat: With just one seat available, the competition is fierce. Even a minor margin in NEET score can decide the outcome.
  • Offline Mode: Unlike online processes, offline applications require physical submission, which can be challenging for candidates from remote districts.
  • Strict Scrutiny: Authorities will thoroughly verify domicile, category, and merit details. Any discrepancy can lead to disqualification.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1: Who can apply for this seat?
Only candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir, belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, and qualified in NEET-UG 2025 can apply.

Q2: How is the candidate selected?
The candidate with the highest NEET-UG 2025 merit among eligible applicants will be recommended.

Q3: Is this seat under the All India Quota or State Quota?
No, this seat falls under the Reserve Nomination Quota allotted to J&K in Kerala.

Q4: What happens after recommendation?
Once recommended by BOPEE, the candidate will complete admission formalities in Kerala Government Medical College as per rules.

Q5: Can candidates from other reserved categories (OBC, ST, etc.) apply?
No, only SC category candidates are eligible under this notification.

Broader Implications

This notification is a reminder of the importance of inter-state collaboration in education. It also shows how reservation policies are implemented through nomination quotas, ensuring marginalized sections of society have representation in professional courses.

For Jammu & Kashmir, where medical aspirants face intense competition for limited MBBS seats, such nomination opportunities in other states can provide much-needed relief and access.

Moreover, this step reflects the government’s commitment to uplifting underprivileged communities, giving them a fair shot at prestigious professional degrees like MBBS.

Conclusion

The JK BOPEE Notification No. 134 of 2025 provides a unique and valuable opportunity for one SC candidate from Jammu & Kashmir to pursue MBBS at a Kerala Government Medical College under the Reserve Nomination Quota.

Eligible candidates should act swiftly, ensure all documents are ready, and submit their applications before 29 September 2025, 3:00 PM. With only one seat available, competition will be intense, but for the right candidate, this could open the door to a rewarding medical career.

For more details and to download the official notification along with Annexure-A, candidates should visit the official JK BOPEE website: www.jkbopee.gov.in.
