Srinagar, June 21 (JKNS): Amid severe heatwave the government on Saturday announced summer vacations for all government and recognized private schools in the Kashmir division from June 23.

A senior official in the education department told news agency JKNS, said, “All schools in the Kashmir division will remain closed for summer vacations from June 23 to July 12, 2025, as temperatures continue to rise sharply.”

We Will be issuing an official order shortly, he said.

The break will span 20 days, allowing students and staff respite from the sweltering conditions. He added that the decision was taken to ensure the well-being and safety of schoolchildren amid the rising temperatures. (JKNS)

PDD Daily Wager Dies After Fall From Electric Pole During Repair Work in Achabal Anantnag

Srinagar, June 21(GNS): A 32 Year-Old daily wager was killed after he fell from an electric pole during some repair Work in Imoh Achabal area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.

Officials told GNS that a daily wager identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone (32) son of Nazir Ahmad Lone resident of Hiller Kokernag fell from pole while he was doing some Repair Work.

He was immediately shifted to GMC Anantnag in a critical condition and brief he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up.(GNS)

Tehsildar Kralgund Arrested by ACB for Accepting Rs 50,000 Bribe

Kupwara, Jun 21 (JKNS): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a Tehsildar in Kupwara district of North Kashmir for accepting a bribe of Rs 50, 000.

Details available with news agency JKNS stated that, an ACB team trapped Ghulam Rasool Bhat, Tehsildar Kralgund in Handwara sub-district, red handed with an amount of Rs 50, 000 at his private residence in Mangwalpora Handwara.

An official said that he had demanded the amount from a person for allowing him to cut the walnut trees. (JKNS)

Important Instructions for Selected Candidates:

Candidates whose names appear in the provisional list must:

  1. Generate the Provisional Allotment Letter using their credentials on the JKBOPEE portal.
  2. Report to the allotted colleges/institutions by 23rd June 2025 (till 04:00 p.m.) with the following original documents:
    • Domicile Certificate of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh
    • 10th Class Marks Certificate
    • Date of Birth Certificate
    • Reserved Category Certificate (if applicable)

Indian Navy Agniveer SSR/MR Result 2025: The Indian Navy is expected to declare the results for the Agniveer SSR (Senior Secondary Recruit) and MR (Matric Recruit) Stage 1 exams 2025. Candidates who appeared for the exams will be able to check their results by visiting the official website, agniveernavy.cdac.in.

To view their results, candidates need to log in using their registered email ID and password. The result will show whether a candidate has qualified for the next stage, along with marks obtained in the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET). Shortlisted candidates will now proceed to Stage 2 of the selection process, which includes a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), a medical examination, and a written test (only for MR).

Srinagar: Amid the prevailing heat wave and the soaring temperature in Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir government is mulling to announce the summer vacation for schools from July 01 of 2025.

In an exclusive interaction with Greater Kashmir, the Education Minister Sakina Itoo Thursday said the government was considering announcing the summer vacation for the schools from July 01 of 2025.

“We are planning to announce summer vacation from July 1 of 2025 for one week. We will assess the weather condition before announcing any extension in the summer vacations,” Sakina Itoo told Greater Kashmir.

The statement comes amid the growing demand from the stakeholders for the announcement of summer vacation for the schools.

As already reported, an independent weather agency has predicted a forecast of intense heatwave till Saturday for Srinagar.

On Thursday, Srinagar recorded the highest June temperature in the last two decades.

Independent weather forecaster Faizan said that the mercury settled at 35.2 degree Celsius in Srinagar on Thursday.

JKBOSE Notification: Clarification on Re-Admission and Stream Change for Classes 10th, 11th & 12th

The Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued a detailed clarification regarding re-admission and stream-change cases for classes 10th, 11th, and 12th. This notification is in continuation of earlier communication (Notification No: – F (Acad-C) E-File-7207848/SC/RA /24) and outlines specific guidelines for students who could not appear or were declared re-appear/fail in their exams.

Key Highlights:

1. Re-Admission in Class 10th & 11th

  • Allowed for candidates who were on the regular rolls but either did not appear or were declared re-appear/fail in the Annual Regular Examination.
  • Re-admission will be granted only in the immediate subsequent session.
  • Not allowed for those who appeared or passed as private candidates.

2. Re-Admission in Class 12th (Same Stream)

  • Permitted only for students who:
    • Were on regular rolls a year earlier,
    • Submitted examination form,
    • Did not appear or were declared fail/re-appear.
  • Not allowed for those who have already passed Class 12th.

3. Stream Change in Class 12th

  • Students who passed Class 11th but did not join Class 12th and now wish to change their stream (e.g., Arts to Science/Commerce and vice versa) can do so.
  • Must cancel previous candidature and result of Class 11th.
  • Will need to appear in all compulsory subjects of the new stream.
  • Awards/marks of previous subjects will not be retained.

4. Re-Admission + Stream Change in Class 12th

  • Candidates declared re-appear/fail in Class 12th and desirous of changing their stream can:
    • Seek readmission in the immediate subsequent session.
    • Cancel candidature and result of previous Class 12th exams.
  • They must pass Class 11th subjects of the new stream (except English and Fifth Subject) either in the same session or simultaneously.
  • Note: Class 12th result will be withheld under dispute until Class 11th result of the new stream is declared.

5. Gap Case Clarification

  • A candidate is considered a Gap case if no admission is sought in the next class within three academic sessions after passing a class.
  • Eligible for admission in regular mode within three years from the time of passing.

This notification provides clarity and flexibility for students looking to reappear or switch streams, while also emphasizing the need to act within the stipulated timelines and guidelines. Students are advised to consult with their schools and make informed decisions based on their academic status and goals.
