NEET UG 2024: 14 admissions cancelled, 26 students suspended over paper leak

The NEET UG 2024 paper leak case is currently under intense scrutiny, with investigations ongoing into the malpractice that has surfaced.

The NEET UG 2024 exam, embroiled in the paper leak case, is still under serious scrutiny after reports of large-scale cheating and malpractice. Acting on this, the National Medical Commission has ordered the suspension of 26 MBBS students who had indulged in malpractices during the examination.

In addition, the Commission has also cancelled the admission of fourteen students for the 2024-25 academic session, the official sources confirmed in a PTI report.

The decision follows investigations by the Central Bureau of Investigation and other agencies into suspected malpractices, including a leaked question paper.

The National Testing Agency, which conducts the test, has also debarred 12 candidates for a few years and suspended the candidature of over 200 students.

After months of legal scrutiny, the Supreme Court closed proceedings on NEET UG 2024 last month after the Centre agreed to implement most expert panel suggestions to improve the exam system.

WHAT DID THE OFFICIALS SAY?

“Due to the serious nature of these breaches and the risk they pose to the reputation of medical education, the National Medical Commission has instructed the relevant medical colleges to suspend the 26 MBBS students involved without delay,” the source stated.

A government official privy to the information revealed that the National Testing Agency conducting the test has barred forty-two applicants from sitting for the NEET-UG for three years — 2024, 2025, and 2026.

Nine have been barred for two years. 215 have also had their status suspended subject to investigation.

The National Medical Commission, in its notification to the colleges, mentioned that students who were found to be involved in the malpractice should be suspended immediately.

“The Commission is firm in its opposition to any academic dishonesty,” the source stated, and added that steps are being taken to maintain fairness and order in the upcoming examinations.”

The NEET UG 2025 exam was conducted on May 4. There has been a major shift in the paper pattern, difficulty level, and sets. Check the paper analysis here.

NEET 2025 Answer Keys (Available) for Codes 45, 46, 47 & 48 – Download PDF Here

NEET 2025 Answer Key: The NEET UG 2025 examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), was successfully held today, May 4, 2025, at numerous test centers across India. As is customary, once the exam concludes, students eagerly seek out answer keys to cross-check their responses and estimate their scores. While the official answer key from NTA takes some time to release, several leading coaching institutions, including Aakash Institute, have promptly provided their own expert-analyzed answer keys. These unofficial keys serve as a critical tool for students to evaluate their performance and anticipate their results. Aakash Coaching has released the NEET UG 2025 answer key specifically for Code Q (Q1 to Q6). These keys have been meticulously crafted by experienced faculty who thoroughly reviewed the complete question paper to ensure accuracy.

The solutions offered by Aakash Institute not only include the correct answers but also provide step-by-step explanations, which are incredibly beneficial for understanding the logic behind each answer. This helps students learn from their mistakes, grasp difficult concepts better, and gain a realistic expectation of their score. By comparing their marked responses to these solutions, candidates can calculate their estimated scores using the NEET marking scheme: +4 marks for each correct answer and -1 mark for each incorrect answer, while no marks are awarded or deducted for unanswered questions. For example, if a student answers 160 questions correctly and gets 20 wrong, their estimated score would be (160 × 4) – (20 × 1) = 640 – 20 = 620.

These early answer keys from coaching institutes are not just helpful for self-assessment but also reduce the stress that students often face while awaiting official results. The NEET 2025 answer keys and full solutions are available for download in PDF format, and students can access them according to their question paper code. This includes not only Code Q but also other sets like Code A, R, S, and T. Each set has solutions available for all three subjects—Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The PDFs are easily downloadable from platforms like Kashmir Student Alerts and the official websites or blogs of institutions such as Aakash, Allen, Motion, Pathfinder, and Sri Chaitanya.

In addition to the PDF solutions, coaching institutes are hosting live YouTube sessions where experts solve NEET 2025 question papers in real time. These sessions are incredibly popular among students as they provide instant clarity on complex questions and allow for interactive discussions. Students can benefit from these live solution videos by Aakash and Allen, which also include insights into expected cutoffs and performance analysis.

Students who wish to challenge the official NTA answer key once it’s released can do so by visiting the NTA website (nta.neet.nic.in). They will need to log in using their credentials, select the question they wish to challenge, provide supporting evidence, and pay a challenge fee (usually ₹200 per question). It’s advisable to keep a record of the submitted challenge for future reference.

The official answer key by NTA is expected to be released a few days after the exam. Once available, students can download it by visiting the NTA website, clicking on the “NEET 2025 Answer Key” link, selecting their question paper code (A1 to A6), and downloading the corresponding PDF. These official answers are crucial for final score calculation and play a significant role in the counselling process.

NEET aspirants aiming for government medical seats or just seeking to qualify for counselling will find these answer keys immensely helpful. They provide a close approximation of performance and support informed decision-making for the next steps. Coaching institutes like Aakash continue to be a reliable resource, offering not just answer keys but also detailed explanations, video discussions, and score predictors, all of which collectively support students during this crucial post-exam phase.

The NTA-organized NEET UG 2025 exam is set for today, May 4, 2025. It must stimulate every applicant to see if they have marked their responses accurately. Tough Physics Paper Surprises NEET-UG Aspirants, Cut-Off Likely to Drop

0

Physics paper tough, say aspirants

NEW DELHI: It was sheer relief for 20.8 lakh students and their families on Sunday after the decider to get selected for medical undergraduate courses concluded. Anxious parents stood patiently outside tightly guarded NEET-UG exam centres for over three hours until their children stepped out after 5 pm.

The exam, comprising 180 questions, 45 each in Chemistry, Physics, Botany, and Zoology is assessed for 720 marks, with four marks per correct answer. A negative marking of one is given for every wrong response. A total of 480 students attended the exam at Kendriya Vidyalaya-4 in Delhi’s Cantonment area. This newspaper caught up with a few candidates after their exam. A recurring response was that the Physics paper completely caught them off guard, as the questions were quite tough and a minute was just not enough.

Pawni Singh said, “The Physics questions were totally unexpected. Most of us had enough knowledge about Circuits, but questions on Alternating Current had appeared. I found the paper tough.” A student requesting anonymity said, “The Physics questions required a lot of calculations. One minute was just not enough to answer one question. So, I ended up leaving many in this section blank to avoid negative marking. It might be the case with many other students too, so I expect the cut-off to be much lower than 600 this year.”

Siva Shree’s mother was completely relieved it was over. “My mother stayed awake with me for many nights at a stretch to help me study for the exam. I found Biology easy and on expected lines. Maybe, if I had practiced better, I could have done well in Physics. Still, I feel I might get into a private medical college,” Siva Shree said.

Neerja Arup, attempting the exam for the second consecutive year said that the questions were lengthy and the paper was tough too. “It was quite easy last time, but unfortunately, it was marred by malpractice. I have less expectation of scoring high this time,” she said. Many on social media opined that the cut-off would definitely be lower than previous years, as the paper was tough.
