All notifications, merit lists, selection lists, notices, and instructions will only be uploaded on the official website of Kashmir University.

Therefore, candidates must regularly check the university portal for updates. Missing an update due to negligence may result in loss of admission opportunity.

Self-Finance and NRI Sponsored Seat Applications

The University of Kashmir has also announced that online applications under the Self-Finance seat quota and NRI/NRI-sponsored categories will be invited from Monday, May 25, 2026.

This provides another opportunity for eligible candidates who may not secure admission under the regular merit quota.

What is the Self-Finance Quota?

Under the self-finance category, candidates can apply for admission against seats that are offered on payment of higher fee structures compared to regular seats.

These seats are especially beneficial for students who narrowly miss selection under open merit categories.

NRI and NRI Sponsored Categories

NRI and NRI-sponsored categories are designed for:

  • Non-Resident Indian students
  • Children or wards of NRIs
  • Sponsored candidates supported by relatives residing abroad

Candidates applying under these quotas must carefully read eligibility conditions and fee structures before applying.

Importance of the 2026 Admission Cycle

The 2026 admission cycle at Kashmir University has witnessed significant attention due to increasing competition across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Thousands of students from Jammu & Kashmir and other regions compete annually for admission into prestigious programmes offered by the university.

The timely publication of scores and merit lists helps streamline the admission process and reduces confusion among applicants.

Students are therefore encouraged to:

  • Check the website daily
  • Monitor official notifications
  • Keep their mobile number and email active
  • Maintain all documents in ready condition

Transparency in the Admission Process

The University of Kashmir’s decision to upload scores and merit lists online reflects an effort toward greater transparency and efficiency in the admission process.

  • Access notices quickly
  • Complete processes efficiently

Digital admission systems have become increasingly important in modern university administration, especially after the large-scale adoption of online services in higher education institutions.

Final Advisory for Aspirants

Admission to Kashmir University remains highly competitive, and candidates must remain proactive throughout the process.

Applicants should not rely on social media rumours or unofficial sources for admission information. Instead, all updates should only be checked through the official university website.

Candidates who have secured provisional selection should immediately proceed with departmental formalities and fee submission to confirm their seats.

Meanwhile, students awaiting future merit lists or self-finance notifications should remain prepared and continue monitoring updates.

The coming days will be crucial for thousands of aspirants seeking admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the academic session 2026

The latest notification issued by the Directorate of Admissions and Competitive Examinations, University of Kashmir, marks a major step in the ongoing 2026 admission process. With individual scores already available, merit lists uploaded, and selection lists scheduled for release, aspirants must now focus on timely completion of admission procedures.

Candidates are advised to carefully follow official instructions, meet deadlines, and regularly check the university website for the latest updates regarding admissions, counselling, and self-finance seat applications.

Re-NEET 2026 a Massive Logistical Challenge, NTA Adopts ‘Zero Trust’ Policy Ahead of June 21 Exam: Sources

0

Conducting re-NEET in 30 days a logistical challenge; NTA working with ‘zero trust’ policy: Sources

New Delhi, May 22: With less than a month remaining for the June 21 re-NEET examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is operating under a “zero trust” approach, undertaking heightened surveillance, regular audits and social media monitoring to plug all possible loopholes after the alleged paper leak controversy, sources at the agency told ANI.

Calling the conduct of the re-examination within a 30-day timeline a “massive logistical challenge”, sources said such large-scale examinations usually require nearly six months of preparation. “The clock is ticking. If anything slips because of paucity of time, it can become a disaster,” a source, on the condition of anonymity, said.

The re-examination was announced after allegations of irregularities and paper leak surfaced in the earlier NEET-UG examination, triggering outrage among students and parents and leading to multiple investigations, including a CBI probe.

Sources stressed that the agency’s responsibility was not limited to conducting the examination but also ensuring swift action in case the integrity of the process was violated. “NTA cannot fail its students time and again. It is not fair to the students,” a source said.

According to sources, NTA has “renewed everything” internally following the controversy. “We have strengthened all protocols, increased cross-checking mechanisms and regular audits are taking place so that nothing slips through,” the source said.

The agency, sources said, is also closely monitoring social media platforms, including Telegram, which investigators suspect was among the channels used during the leak network.

“NTA is taking several measures for a fair examination, but we cannot disclose everything publicly as it can help the mafia identify loopholes,” sources added.

On allegations that insiders, including teachers, may have been involved in the leak, sources admitted the challenge of handling rogue elements within the system. “People who have worked with the agency for years can also go rogue. If insiders do wrong, it becomes extremely challenging. We are ensuring this does not happen again,” the source said.

Explaining the nature of the leak, sources claimed that only a portion of the paper had been compromised. “Had the leak happened from printing presses, banks or examination centres, the entire paper would have leaked. It was only part of the paper,” the source said.

“We are looking at the entire process through a lens of zero trust and trying to ensure there are no loopholes,” the source added.

Sources maintained that all facts regarding the leak and those responsible would emerge through the ongoing CBI investigation. “NTA cannot influence the CBI probe,” they said.

“What NTA is doing will be proven on June 21,” sources added.–(ANI)
