ACB Registers DA Case Against Retired PWD Engineer

Srinagar, Jan 13 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on monday said to have registered a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case against a retired Superintending Engineer of PWD (R&B), and a resident of Hygam, Baramulla.

In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau conducted a verification into the allegation that Riyaz Ahmad Parray, retired Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B), resident of Hygam Baramulla has amassed huge assets, by indulging in corrupt practices.

The verification revealed that the suspect public servant during service period has acquired properties in shape of immovable/movable at Hygam, Srinagar, Jammu and Delhi and has also made huge investments/expenditures which are disproportionate to his known sources of income.

It was found during probe that the accused public servant has intentionally enriched himself illicitly during the period of his office & the expenditures incurred and the value of assets acquired/raised by the accused during service period have been found prima facie disproportionate to his known sources of income. Accordingly, a Case FIR No. 01/2025 under section 13 (1) (b) r/w 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 (As amended in 2018) was registered at PS ACB Baramulla against the accused Riyaz Ahmad Parrey, retired Superintendent Engineer, PWD (R&B) and the investigation of the case was initiated.

During the course of investigation search warrants were obtained from Hon’ble court and searches were conducted at all locations inside as well as outside UT of J&K at Delhi, Jammu, during which various incriminating documents related to property acquisition were collected and seized in presence of independent witnesses.

Statement further reads, It was found that suspect has raised /accumulated properties and made various expenditures, some of the details are under, Flat 3 BHK at Greater Kailash Jammu, Flat 3 BHK at Chhatarpur enclave phase 2ndDelhi, House at Residency road Jammu, House at Hygam, Sopore, Palatial House at Bagh-e-Mehtab Srinagar, Shopping Complex at Hygam Sopore housing some business establishments including J&K Bank Branch Hygam.

04 Shops at Hygam housing business units, Land measuring 2 Kanals at National Highway Baramulla village Bulgam.

Land measuring 17 Kanals 9.5 Marlas at Dodan Hygam Baramulla, Land measuring 2 Kanals 9 Marlas situated at Kaidub Hygam Baramulla, Possession of vehicles TATA Safari, Hyundai, 10 ,Wagnor & Tractor John Deere. Five FDs amounting to Rs. 88 lacs in J&K bank, HDFC Bank.
Policies amounting to Rs 35.Lac, Health insurance policies amounting to Rs 10 lac.

Huge expenditures incurred on re-payments of bank loans etc. Further investigation in the case is going on, reads the statement. (JKNS)

SSC GD 2025: The Staff Selection Commission will conduct the Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau Examination, 2025 in February. National Testing Agency will close the online registration-cum-application window for the All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2025 today, January 13.

Those who want admission to Class 6 and Class 9 at Sainik Schools have to apply for AISSEE 2025 at exams.nta.ac.in/AISSEE. The fee payment window will close tomorrow, January 14.

Admissions for Sainik School Nagrota to be Processed Online for 2025-26

The AISSEE 2025 application fee is 800 for general, OBC-NCL, defence and ex-servicemen category candidates. For SC and ST category candidates, the exam fee is 650.

The test will be held offline using OMR sheets in 190 cities across India. The list of exam cities is available on the information bulletin.

NTA will announce the AISSEE exam date and admit card release date later.

AISSEE 2025: Eligibility criteria for Sainik school admission

Candidates who are 10-12 years of age on March 31, 2025, meaning those who were born between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2015 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply for Class 6 admission.

Girl candidates can apply for admission to Class 6 in all Sainik schools. The number of seats available for female candidates in different schools is mentioned in the information bulletin.

For Class 9, those who are between 13 and 15 years on March 31, 2025 (meaning those who were born between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2012) can apply.

Admission of female students in Class 9 is subject to the availability of seats, NTA said.

Applicants should have passed the Class 8 exam from a recognised school to appear for AISSEE 2025 for Class 9 admission.

Exam pattern

For Class 6 admission, there will be 125 questions in the test paper from four topics – Language, Mathematics, Intelligence and General Knowledge – for 300 marks. In Language, Intelligence and General Knowledge, each question will carry two marks, and the total marks in these sections will be 50. In Mathematics, there will be 50 questions for 150 marks.

In the Class 9 paper, there will be 150 questions for 400 marks. Topics in the paper are Mathematics, Intelligence, English, General Science and Social Science. The Mathematics section will have 50 questions carrying 4 marks each and the remaining four sections will have 25 questions carrying 2 marks each.

The Class 6 exam will be held from 2 pm to 4:30 pm (150 minutes) and the Class 9 exam will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm (180 minutes).
