J&K BOPEE Announces 2nd/Mop-Up Round of Counselling for M.Sc. Technology 2024

The Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has issued Notification No. 156-BOPEE of 2024, dated November 5, 2024, announcing the schedule for the second or mop-up round of physical counselling for admission to the M.Sc. Technology Course for the year 2024. This round has been organized to fill the remaining vacant seats in the M.Sc. Technology program at SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar.

Counselling Details: The counselling session is scheduled for Friday, November 8, 2024, at BOPEE offices in Jammu and Srinagar. The eligible candidates are invited to attend according to the following time slots:

  1. 08:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. – Reserved Category candidates, including those under EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) and horizontally reserved categories, with ranks from 001 to 184.
  2. 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. – All open merit and reserved category candidates with ranks from 001 to 184.

Candidates must report at the scheduled time for attendance and registration.

Important Instructions:

  1. Document Requirements: All candidates are required to bring their original documents for verification, including Domicile Certificate, Category Certificate (if applicable), and other relevant certificates. These will be scrutinized by the board during the counselling process.

Srinagar: The Fire at Purkhoo camp engulfed everything that for decades the Kashmiri pandits had accumulated here in Jammu, everything they possessed after years.

Displaced and traumatized families lost whatever little they saved from the blaze. From the ashes, hope reared its head. The Ehsaas Foundation, an NGO based in Srinagar, did not back down to this challenge. Relief camps at Bohri Kadal were initiated, and volunteers from every nook and cranny surfaced.

Food and more food, blankets, and clothing, the feeling that they are not alone to lose everything all over again. What greater comfort over the physical support is knowing that they are not only to lose everything, and what the foundation assisted with were these things.

It is more than helping them. It is letting them realize that they are being watched and cared for and not forgotten.

Volunteers Zahoor Malik and Burhan Nazir said, “It has shaken us deep. Sometimes it feels like we are putting a bandage on a wound that would never stop bleeding; all we could do is give them a respite.”

Relief at Purkhoo Camp is not food and groceries, but the strength to face tomorrow. That is what it feels like in a world they claim to have let them down several times.

And then relief camps become symbols of unity and resilience in a strife-torn Kashmir that shows here that in Kashmir, amid ashes of hate, compassion remains.

Will take action against private schools violating govt norms: Education Minister

Srinagar, Nov 05 (KNO): Education Minister Sakina Itoo Tuesday said that government will examine and take action against those private schools that are violating the norms.

Speaking with reporters, Sakina, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that government has already notified norms and criteria regarding charging of tuition and other charges.

She said that private schools in Jammu and Kashmir are being regulated by the government and those hiking fee in violation of norms will be taken to task.

“If in case any private schools is working against the rules and norms framed by the government, the concerned authorities will accordingly examine and take action against those institutions,” she said—(KNO)
