India Post GDS Result 2024: India Post on Tuesday, August 20, released the circle-wise first merit list for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2024 at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.

Candidates can check their GDS positions on the official websites. The circle-wise and category-wise merit lists are available at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in/ and indiapostgdsonline.cept.gov.in.

The merit list has been released for several postal circles including twelve states. The list of states for which Gramin Dak Sevak first merit list has been announced include Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and West Bengal. Meanwhile, candidates who applied for other circles can expect the merit list anytime soon

JKSSB Issues Admit Cards for Junior Assistant Written Examination on 25th August 2024

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has announced that the admit cards for the Junior Assistant written examination, scheduled for 25th August 2024, are now available. This examination is for the positions advertised under Notification Nos. 04 of 2021, 05 of 2021, 02 of 2022, and 04 of 2022.

1. Admit Card Availability:
– Admit cards can be downloaded from the official JKSSB website [www.jkssb.nic.in](http://www.jkssb.nic.in) from 4:00 PM onwards on 19th August 2024.
– Candidates will need their E-mail ID and Date of Birth to access the admit card.

No Subsidy For Solar Roofs Installed By Unregistered Vendors Under Surya Ghar: KPDCL Advisory

Srinagar, August 19:(GNS) Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) on Monday advised its domestic consumers to approach empanelled solar PV vendors only for installation of solar roof-tops under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme.

In a handout to GNS, the KPDCL spokesperson stated that some consumers are being approached by solar vendors for SRTs who are not registered with KPDCL under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme. “The list of empanelled vendors is available on National Portal of PM Surya Ghar with contact details, which can be accessed for choosing vendors of choice,” he advised.

The spokesman further clarified that those consumers who get their solar roof-tops installed by vendors who are not empanelled with KPDCL shall not be eligible for Central or UT subsidy.

“KPDCL has been issuing advisories through its social media handles warning customers not to get deceived by unregistered vendors,” he added.(GNS)

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will end the NEET UG 2024 counselling registration process tomorrow, August 20. This marks the last chance for candidates to submit their applications and participate in the counselling for MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing programmes. The first round of choice filling is open until August 20, with candidates required to lock their choices between 4 pm and 11:55 pm.

J&K Government Considers Mandatory Enrollment of Employees’ Children in State-Run Schools

Srinagar, Aug 18: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Sunday said that it is discussing a proposal regarding the enrolment of wards of all government employees in state-run schools.

The proposal, submitted by a local organization to the monitoring and grievance cell of the office of the J&K Lieutenant Governor has gained attention and is currently under review.

The proposal suggests that all the government employees should admit their children in government schools which could serve as a catalyst for improving the quality of education in these institutions which are otherwise below par and have seen a decline in admissions in recent years.

The proposal aims to bring accountability and direct involvement of government officials in the public education system, potentially leading to better facilities, teaching standards, and overall performance.

Following the submission of the proposal, an official communication was sent from the LG’s office to the School Education Department (SED) with the instructions to take necessary actions and submit an action-taken report to the LG office.

In wake of this, the SED has formally communicated to the Director School Education of both Jammu and Kashmir divisions, urging appropriate measures in accordance with the rules even as it has sought feedback on the proposal.

Following this, the Director School Education Jammu issued an official communication to all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of the Jammu division who were asked to provide their comments on the matter.

The CEOs have further forwarded the communication to Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and heads of institutions for their input.

As the discussion is going on over implementation of the proposal, the School Education Department is yet to reach any consensus regarding its implementation.

The officers, as per the official communication, were directed to submit their comments regarding the implementation of the proposal by August 12 of 2024.

However, talking to Greater Kashmir, Principal Secretary SED, Alok Kumar stated that nothing was finalised on the matter yet.

“I am yet to make up my mind on it,” Alok Kumar told Greater Kashmir without giving any further details. (GK)

2. Rolls-Royce Wings4Her Scholarship for Women Engineering Students

The Rolls-Royce Wings4Her Scholarship is another significant initiative aimed at supporting female students in engineering disciplines. This scholarship is provided by Rolls-Royce India and targets girl students enrolled in their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of an engineering degree program at AICTE-recognized institutions.

Eligibility Criteria:
– Female students enrolled in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of engineering in fields such as aerospace, marine, electronics, computers, etc., are eligible.
– Applicants must have scored more than 60% in their Class 10 and 12 board exams.
– The annual family income must not exceed ₹4 lakh.
– Open to students across India.

JKBOPEE Online Registration for NEET UG – 2024 Candidates from J&K/Ladakh

The J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has issued a notification (No. 078-BOPEE of 2024, dated 18-08-2024) for the online registration of NEET UG 2024 candidates belonging to the Union Territories (UTs) of J&K and Ladakh. This follows the revised NEET UG 2024 result announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 26th July 2024.

Eligibility and Cut-off Scores

Candidates from J&K/Ladakh who have qualified for NEET UG 2024 and meet the cut-off marks established by the NTA are invited to register for the counselling process. The cut-off scores are as follows:

– Open Merit (including JKPM/CDP/Sports/EWS): 162
– Open Merit/EWS & PwD: 144
– SC/ST/STL/STO/OBC/ALC/IB/RBA: 127
– SC/ST/STL/STO/OBC/RBA/ALC/IB & PwD/ JKPM/Sports/CDP: 127

Candidates can verify if their names are included in the list published by BOPEE on its official website. If a candidate’s name is missing, they are advised to contact BOPEE by 20th August 2024.

Required Documents

Candidates must upload the following documents during registration:
– NEET UG 2024 Scorecard
– 10+2 Marks Card
– Domicile Certificate for J&K/Ladakh
– Category Certificate (where applicable)

It is important to note that only those certificates issued up to the last date of registration will be entertained. No under-process certificates will be accepted.

Registration Process

The online registration window is open from 19th August 2024 to 23rd August 2024 (until midnight). During this period, candidates must upload all necessary documents. Candidates should avoid using mobile phones for registration and document upload due to potential technical issues.

After registration, BOPEE will release the Provisional UT Merit List (PUTML) on its website. This list will be used for the online counseling process, which will be conducted later based on candidate preferences and the availability of seats.

Important Instructions

– Candidates are advised to read the e-Information Brochure available on the BOPEE website before starting the registration process.
– BOPEE will not be responsible for any errors made by the candidates during registration.
– The registration process should be completed within the given time frame; failing to do so may result in disqualification.
– Candidates applying under the NRI/HM Quota must also register and upload documents separately.
– The completion of the application does not guarantee admission; candidates must meet all criteria at the time of document verification.
