TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

1. From 19-04-2024, 1700 hrs. to 20-04-2024, 1700 hrs., Jammu-Srinagar NHW remained blocked for 15 hrs. 14 mins. due to landslides/mudslides/shooting stones at many places. Slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to nomadic flocks, single lane traffic at Dalwas, Mehad, Panthyal, Nachlana, Shalgarhi etc. and poor surface condition of road at many places between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.

2. Passengers/LMVs operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-

Srinagar NHW during day time. Please avoid journey during night hours as apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal. 3. Load carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police

Headquarters time to time as there is single lane traffic and poor condition of road at Dalwas, Panthyal, Nachlana, Shalgarhi etc. on Jammu Srinagar NHW. 4. HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.

5. HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 21-04-2024:- Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44)

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. However, HMVs shall be managed on regulated manner after assessing the road condition.

Cut off timing for LMVs in view of single road at Dalwas, Panthyal, Nachlana, Kishtwari Pather etc:- (subject to change depending on road condition) from Nagrota (Jammu) 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs from Jakheni (Udhampur) 0700 hrs to 1400 hrs & from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs No Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.

SFs Convoy Movement:-

Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view

of possible traffic congestion because of narrow carriage way between Nashree and

Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Jammu towards

Srinagar after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:-

Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road is still closed.

SSG ROAD

Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road is closed due to multiple avalanches trigged across Zojila and fresh snowfall.

Mughal Road:-

Mughal road is still closed.

Bhaderwah-Chamba road:-

Bhaderwah-Chamba road is still blocked due to snow accumulation.

The Cluster University Srinagar (CUS) has extended the deadline for submission of online supplementary examination forms for undergraduate (UG) 6th semester students from Batch 2018 to 2020.

  • The deadline for submission of online supplementary examination forms has been extended to April 19, 2024 (from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM).
  • Students who have failed to submit their online examination forms earlier can now submit them on the University website (https://www.cusrinagar.edu.in/) through student login with a late fee.
  • Backlog students in Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) must also submit the examination form mandatorily.

This applies to all backlog students of UG 6th Semester Batch 2018 to 2020.

The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has extended the last date to apply for its MBA and MBA (Travel and Tourism Management) programs. The admission to these courses will be based on the CMAT-2024 score.

The new deadline to register for the CMAT-2024 is April 23, 2024. The previous deadline was April 18, 2024.

Rains relent as night temp drops in J&K

Srinagar, April 20: After drenching the Jammu and Kashmir in past two days, rains relented on Saturday but light rain at scattered places are in store during next 24 hours, weather department here said. Also, night temperature saw a drop and most places recorded below normal mercury.

A meteorological department official here told GNS that in last 24 hours till 0830 hours this morning, Srinagar received 18mm of rain, Qazigund 30mm, Pahalgam 7mm, Kupwara 13mm, Kokernag 21mm, Gulmarg 15mm, Jammu 11mm, Banihal 40mm, Batote 29mm, Katra 14mm and Bhaderwah 16mm.

The weather department here has predicted light rain at scattered places today while from April 21-25, generally dry weather has been forecast but afternoon thundershower activity at isolated places has not been ruled out.

Generally cloudy weather with light rain coupled with thunder has been forecast at many places from April 26 to 27.

Regarding temperature, he said, Srinagar recorded a minimum of 7.0°C against 9.2°C on the previous night and it was 0.9°C below normal for the summer capital of JK for this time of the year.

Qazigund recorded a minimum of 7.0°C against 8.6°C on the previous night and it was 0.4°C above normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.

Pahalgam recorded a low of 1.6°C against 4.8°C on the previous night and it was 1.8°C below normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir.

Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum of 5.8°C against 7.8°C on the previous night and it was 0.7°C below normal, the official said.

Kupwara town recorded a low of 6.0°C against 7.5°C on the previous night and it was 0.9°C below normal there, the official said.

Gulmarg recorded a low of 0.5°C against 1.6°C on the previous night and it was below normal by 1.7°C for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Jammu, he said, recorded a minimum of 16.8°C against 17.9°C on the previous night and it was below normal by 3.4°C for the winter capital of J&K.

Banihal recorded a low of 6.4°C, Batote 8.4°C and Bhaderwah 6.6°C, he added. (GNS)

The J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has released the provisional merit list for admission to the B.Ed. Course 2024. The list includes the names of all the candidates who appeared in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the JKBOPEE on April 14, 2024.

A total of 431 candidates appeared for the entrance test, which was conducted at centers in Jammu and Srinagar. The Board has not received any representations against the Answer Key of the Common Entrance Test.

Indian Army TGC 140 Eligibility Criteria 2024

To be eligible for the Indian Army TGC 140 recruiting, a candidate must meet the specified qualifying requirements.

Nationality

An applicant has to be one of two:

  • An Indian national, or
  • An issue about Nepal or,
  • An individual of Indian descent who has made India their permanent home after emigrating from places like Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.
  • As long as the applicant falls into one of the aforementioned categories
  • and is the recipient of an eligibility certificate from the Indian government.
  • However, applicants who are Nepalese Gurkha subjects will not need a certificate of eligibility.
  • Should a certificate of eligibility be required for an applicant, it will be included in the application.

Age Limit

  • The candidate’s age range should be between 20 and 27 as of January 1, 2025. (Candidates born on or before January 02, 1998, and January 01, 2005, inclusive.
  • Government regulations determine how age relaxation is granted.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants may apply if they have completed the required Engineering Degree course or are in their last year of study.
  • By July 1, 2024, candidates enrolled in the final year of an engineering degree program must be able to provide documentation of their passing the engineering degree examination, along with their mark sheets from all semesters and years.
  • They must also produce their engineering degree certificate within 12 weeks of the Indian Military Academy (IMA) starting date of instruction.

The mark sheet displays the marks that candidates scored for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2023 which includes both the written exam as well as the personality test marks.

Aditya Srivastava who topped the examination scored 1099 marks as per the mark sheet released by the commission. He scored 899 in the written test and 200 in the personality test.

This year a total of 1016 candidates have been recommended for appointment to Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’. The candidature of 355 recommended candidates has been kept provisional.

UPSC Civil Service prelims examination 2023 was conducted on May 28, 2023. The UPSC mains examination was conducted on September 15, 16, 17, 23, and 24, 2023. The interviews for the personality test were conducted in January-April 2024.

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has declared the result for the Secondary School Examination (Class 10th) Session: Annual-Pvt/Bi-Annual/2023.

One candidate, Parveena (Roll No. 127013210), has qualified the exam.

The result notification states that Parveena’s marks in English (EN), Urdu (UR), Science (SC), Social Science (SS), and Re-appear (RE) theory and practical, along with marks carried forward from a previous session, were enough to qualify her for the exam.

The notification also mentions that the Assistant Secretary Sub-Office Kupwara has been informed to update the candidate’s record and inform her about the modification of the result.
