University of Kashmir Recruitment 2024 for Junior Research Fellow posts

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Kashmir is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position. The position is funded by the DST-SERB and is for a research project titled, “Designing Metal-Organic Framework/SAIL based Catalytic Green electrolyte Interfaces for doubly sustainable electrochemical CO2 fixation for the synthesis of value-added Products”.

Qualifications

  • M.Sc. Chemistry with a minimum of 55% marks
  • NET/SET/GATE qualified candidates will be given preference
  • Prior research experience is desirable

Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) Document Notification for Accounts Assistant

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released a notification calling for additional candidates to appear for document verification for the post of Accounts Assistant (Finance Department), UT Cadre.

The document verification will be held on April 15, 2024, at the schedule and venue indicated against each candidate in Annexure “A” of the notification.

Eligibility

To be eligible for document verification, candidates must have the following:

  • A minimum of 50% marks in graduation from a recognized university for open merit. However, candidates having a post-graduate degree with 50% marks or holding a PhD degree or equivalent will be given preference.
  • Valid Category Certificate, if belonging to reserved categories.
  • Domicile Certificate.
  • 10+2 Marks Sheet/Diploma.
  • Other documents as specified in the notification.

Candidates who have already applied for the post of Accounts Assistant (Finance Department) need not apply again. They should simply appear for document verification on the scheduled date and time.

JKPSC releases notice regarding Assistant Professor posts

The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has released a notice regarding the filling up of the post of Assistant Professor, Electronics, in the Higher Education Department.

The JKPSC had advertised three posts in March 2023, and five more posts in March 2023. A written test was conducted on August 27, 2023, and the results were declared in November 2023. The JKPSC also notified a provisional select list in November 2023.

The notice says that the select list is provisional, and objections can be filed within five days.

Mostly dry weather is expected till afternoon, towards late afternoon/evening rain/thunderstorm is expected at some parts.

11 April
Mostly partly cloudy with chances of rain showers at many places in Jammu and Kashmir. Overall nothing special is expected during this day.

12 April
Mostly dry weather is expected in Jammu and Kashmir

A fresh western disturbance is expected from 13 April onwards until 16 April under its influence, rain/snow is expected at most places in Jammu and Kashmir ( more updates regarding this will be shared in coming days).

Traffic Plan & Advisory for 9 April 2024

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

1. From 07-04-2024, 1700 hrs. to 08-04-2024, 1700 hrs., Jammu-Srinagar NHW remained blocked for 11 hrs, due to landside at Khooni Nallah. Slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to breakdown of 03 HMVs, single lane traffic at Dalwas, Mehad, Panthyal, Nachlana, Shalgarhi etc. and poor surface condition of road at many places between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.

2. Passengers/LMVs operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu- Srinagar NHW during day time. Please avoid journey during night hours as apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.

3. Load carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time to time as there is single lane traffic and poor condition of road at Dalwas, Panthyal, Nachlana, Shalgarhi etc. on Jammu Srinagar NHW.

4. HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.

5. HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 09-04-2024:- Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44)

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. However, HMVs shall be managed on regulated manner after assessing the road condition.

Cut off timing for LMVs in view of single road at Dalwas, Panthyal, Nachlana, Kishtwari Pather etc:- (subject to change depending on road condition) from Nagrota (Jammu) 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs from Jakheni (Udhampur) 0700 hrs to 1400 hrs & from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs No Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.

SFs Convoy Movement:-

Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of narrow carriage way between Nashree and Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

SSG ROAD

Subject to fair weather and good road condition (after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies), only one way traffic for LMVs 4X4 (passenger/Load carrier) from Kargil towards Srinagar shall be allowed on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road. These vehicles shall be allowed from Minamarg at 0930 hrs upto 1300 hrs. Motorists are advised to carry anti-skid chain to gain more grip on the slippery road. No vehicle shall be allowed without anti skid chain/after cut off timing.

Bhaderwah-Chamba road:-

Bhaderwah-Chamba road is still blocked due to snow accumulation.

DSEK Ensures No Student in Private Schools Faces Victimization by Being Deprived of Necessary Documents

Srinagar, Apr 08 (KNO): School Education Department has informed that no student in private schools should be victimised by depriving them of necessary documents.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the directives were passed by the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) in a meeting with heads of prominent private schools of the Kashmir division.

“Any dispute on fee is a dispute between the parent and the institution; students shall in no case be victimised by depriving them of a Discharge Certificate, Admit Card etc. which is against RTE Act,” DSEK said in the meeting.

The directorate however, notified the general public that no minutes of meeting in this regard have been issued by DSEK so far.

“Some self-styled organisations are issuing minutes of meeting at their own level misleading the general public which may never be construed as facts and such acts are strongly refuted,” DSEK said.

Stating some other important decisions that were taken in the meeting, DSEK said that no admission or any capitation fee shall be charged other than prescribed by the Fee Fixation Committee.

“The students shall not be overburdened by additional books or additional content other than books prescribed by the government,” reads the official communique.

DSEK further said that bus fee shall be charged as approved by FFRC. “However, the drivers and other attendants shall be paid salary during winters as is being paid to other employees of the institution.”—(KNO)

The University of Kashmir has extended the deadline for online applications for its diploma and certificate courses (distance mode) offered through the Centre of Distance and Online Education (CDOE).

The new deadline is April 12, 2024. This extension is for the benefit of those who have not yet submitted their applications due to any reason.

JKPSC Announces Medical Examination Schedule for J&K Civil Services (Judicial) Examination Qualifiers

The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has announced the schedule for the medical examination of candidates who have qualified for the J&K Civil Services (Judicial) Examination, 2023.

The medical examination will be conducted at the Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu on April 12, 2024, at 9:30 AM. Candidates who wish to appear for the medical examination at GMC, Jammu must report to the Principal of the college on the aforementioned date and time.

Candidates are required to bring 10 passport-size photographs for carrying out necessary investigations. They will also have to pay a prescribed fee before the medical examination.

The JKPSC has stated that the schedule for the medical examination to be conducted at Government Medical College, Srinagar will be notified separately.

DSEK Announces new School Timings for Kashmir

DSEK orders change in school timings in Kashmir from April 12

Srinagar, Apr 8: Director School Education Kashmir on Monday ordered change in school timings in the Valley from April 12.

The changes will be effective for recognised government and private educational institutions.

While the schools within Srinagar Municipal Limits will work from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, those falling outside it and other areas (districts) of Kashmir division will work from 10: 00 am upto 4:00 pm, as per the order by DSEK, a copy of which lies with GNS.

“All the concerned institutions must strictly adhere to the given order/instructions and any deviation in this regard will be viewed seriously,” the order added. (GNS)
