Multi activity equipment for children installed in 7 new parks

Srinagar, Mar 11: In a bid to further boost tourism allure of Asia’s largest Tulip garden, the Department of Floriculture has added five more new tulip varieties this year besides expanding the existing garden area.

This was informed during a meeting chaired by Commissioner Secretary Floriculture, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, held at Civil Secretariat here.

The meeting was also attended by Director Floriculture Kashmir, District Floriculture Officers and other senior officers of the department.

While addressing the meeting, the Commissioner Secretary said that it is the endeavour of the department to make the Tulip Garden more attractive and alluring for the tourists from all over the world.

“This year we have added five new varieties bringing the total number of tulip varieties to 73. These new varieties will give an enchanting experience to the visitors making the splendid garden extremely beautiful,” he maintained.

He added that 1.7 million tulips are set to bloom this year in the upcoming season, the ground work of which has been completed. He said that the department has also added another four kanal of land for the parking lot at the tulip garden to ensure a smooth experience for the visitors.

Sheikh Fayaz said that Tulip Garden, recently included in the World Book of Records, is a pride for the Floriculture department and has greatly enhanced the tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir. We are anticipating a big increase in arrival of tourists to the Tulip Garden this year as compared to the last year and preparations are in full swing in this regard.

He took note of various civil works in the garden like face lifting, toilet points, soakage pits, lightning system, illumination among other works and asked the concerned to complete the leftover works. He asked the DFOs to ensure parks are well maintained in all the districts and all the facilities for the visitors are in place. He said that all parks should have a washroom facility for ease of the visitors.

Sheikh Fayaz directed the officers to complete all the ongoing works in the shortest possible timeframe. He asked the Director Floriculture to personally monitor the execution of works to ensure their timely completion.

It was also revealed during the meeting that the Floriculture department has installed multi activity children equipment in 7 more parks bringing the total number of parks with children equipment to 14.

Director Floriculture Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad Rather, said that it is a conscious endeavour of the department to ensure that children have fun time in the parks.

He also passed strict directions to the concerned officers to keep a close watch on the equipments in the parks to avoid any untoward incident. He said that any damaged equipment should be immediately replaced to ensure complete safety of the children— (KNO)

Srinagar, Mar 11: The Enforcement Directorate on Monday attached properties worth Rs 4.81 crore in Jammu and Kashmir bank fraud case.

In a post on X, ED, as per the news agency—Kashmir News OBserver (KNO said that Srinagar Zonal Office has provisionally attached immovable properties worth Rs.4.81 Crore in the form of 18 Kanal of land and building.

It said that property belongs to Isfaq Ahmad Zargar of M/s Nikha Ornaments (12.5 marla), Khalil Ahmad Mughal of M/s JK Gold Jewelry (14 Kanal 16 Marla), Md. Asaraf Dev of M/s Raf Raf Tours and Travel (1 Kanal 12 Marla) and Md. Sayed Kaushar Niyazi of M/s Sayed Tours and Travels ( 17 Marla)—(KNO)

JKSSB Releases Admit Cards for OMR Based Written Examination for the Post of Inspector, Finance Department

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has announced the release of admit cards for the candidates for the OMR Based Written Examination for the post of Inspector, Finance Department scheduled to be held on March 17, 2024.

The admit cards will be available for download on the JKSSB’s official website https://jkssb.nic.in/ from 4:00 PM onwards on March 11, 2024.

Candidates can download their admit cards from the website using their email ID and date of birth. They must read the instructions contained therein carefully.

In case of any difficulty in downloading or issues related to the admit card, candidates can contact the JKSSB Helpdesk at 0191-2461335 (Jammu) or 0194-2435089 (Srinagar) or write to JKSSB at helpdesk.jkssb@gmail.com. The Helpdesk will be active from March 11, 2024 to March 17, 2024 during office hours only.

The candidature of candidates claiming eligibility by misrepresentation/concealment of any material facts, impersonation, fraud, etc., shall be liable for cancellation and disciplinary action, as deemed appropriate.

The Board reserves the right to cancel the candidature of any candidate at any stage at which he/she is found ineligible.

The candidates are intimated that there shall be negative marking for wrong answers (1/4th of allotted marks for each answer) attempted in the said examination. The detailed criteria of selection and syllabus for the said posts have already been notified and are available on the official website of the Board.

The candidates are also advised to be in touch with the JKSSB’s official website for the latest updates on the examinations and admit cards will not be sent by post.

CUET PG 2024 Commences: Admit Card Link, Schedule, and Exam Day Instructions Revealed

CUET PG 2024 started today. The exam is being held in three shifts: From 9 am to 10:45 am, from 12:45 pm to 2:30 pm and from 4:30 to 6:15 pm.

The National Testing Agency on Monday started the Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate or CUETA PG 2024. The exam will continue till March 28 and admit cards for exams up to March 13 have been released. Hall tickets for the remaining exams will be released in due course of time on pgcuet.samarth.ac.in.

This year, the exam is being held in three shifts. The first shift is from 9 am to 10:45 am, the second one is from 12:45 pm to 2:30 pm and the third shift is from 4:30 to 6:15 pm.

Candidates must reach the exam venue as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit cards. No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall after the gate closing time. In addition to exam centre details and paper timings, the admit card also contains important guidelines for the exam day, which candidates must follow before, during and after the examination.

After the CUET PG exam is over, the NTA will release provisional answer keys of all subjects and display candidates’ responses and question papers.

Objections will be invited from candidates on payment of a fee for each question and it will be reviewed by subject experts.

If objections are found valid, the final answer key will be revised.

CUET PG result will be prepared and declared using the final answer key.

Pulwama, Mar 11: Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain Monday said that police are fully prepared to ensure peaceful Lok Sabha elections whenever they are announced and the force will provide a safe and secure atmosphere to enthusiastic voters.

Talking to reporters after inaugurating the police post at Rohmoo in Southern district of Pulwama, the DGP as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that police force is fully prepared and geared up for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in J&K.

“We will ensure peaceful Lok Sabha polls in J&K. We will provide a safe and secure atmosphere to enthusiastic voters,” the DGP said, in reply to a query.

Replying to another query about links between narco-terror and terrorism, the DGP said that earlier, they had a doubt whether these two are really linked. “As and when investigations progressed, concrete evidence came to fore that narco-trade and terrorism are deeply not only linked but interconnected. Terrorist outfits like Al-Badr, Jaish-e-Muhammad, Lashkar-e-Toiba are behind this trade,” he said.

The J&K police chief said that the value of Rs 15 lakh consignment of narcotics reaches upto Rs 1 Crore while travelling from Kashmir to Delhi and other parts of the country.

“We have a robust mechanism to curb and crack this trade. It is not so easy but we are doing and the police force is cable to do it,” he said—(KNO)
