IGNOU BEd, BSc, and PhD Admission  Notification 2023 

Indira Gandhi National Open University has started the registration process for IGNOU Entrance Test 2024. The entrance test registration has commenced for B.Ed, B.Sc & Ph.D degrees. Candidates can apply online through the official website of IGNOU at ignou.ac.in.

The registration process was started on December 12 and will end on December 31, 2023. The examination was conducted on January 7, 2024 at various exam centers across the country. The duration of the exam is for 2.30 hours.

Pursuant to Notification No. 135-BOPEE of 2023 dated 07.12.2023, the Board conducted Mop up round of counseling (Physical) for admission to B.Ed Courses-2023 in Govt. College of Education, Canal Road, Jammu/ Govt. College of Education, Canal Road (IASE), Srinagar & Composite Research Centre (CRC), Srinagar to fill up of the seats which had remained vacant and also received as shortfall from respective colleges after 2nd round of counseling. As provided under Section 9 (2) of the J&K Reservation Act, 2004, the seat(s) of reserved categories that remained unfilled due to non-availability of the eligible candidates under these Reserved Category(s) have been converted into Open Merit and filled up accordingly as per merit. The list of candidates who have been provisionally selected / upgraded during this round of counselling is hereby notified as per the Annexure – A to this Notification which shall be available on website of the BOPEE only.

The provisionally selected candidates shall be allowed to complete their admission formalities by or before 20.12.2023 upto 4:00 p.m. along with the following documents in original:-

i) Date of Birth (Matriculation Certificate from the Board of School Education).

ii) Domicile Certificate.

iii) Marks sheets of Graduation Classes.

iv) Category certificate, wherever applicable.

Successful Candidate Notified for Junior Statistical Assistant Position in J&K: Document Verification Process Initiated

Junior Statistical Assistant: The Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Jammu & Kashmir, recently released a notification regarding the selection of a candidate for the position of Junior Statistical Assistant in the Finance Department. The selection was made under the Divisional Cadre for both Kashmir and Jammu, as advertised in Notification No: 04 of 2020 under Item No. 107 & 113, respectively.

The announcement, dated [date], comes after a thorough process conducted by the J&K Services Selection Board, Jammu, as indicated in their letters dated 08-06-2022, 13-06-2020, and 11-09-2023. The Planning, Development & Monitoring Department also played a crucial role, with their letters No. PDMD/Adm/159/2020-02 dated 08/07/2022 and PDMD-ADM/47/2023 dated 03-11-2023, conveying approval for the selected candidate’s appointment.

Weather Update – Kashmir Cold Wave Persists: Srinagar Logs Season’s Coldest Night at Minus 5.4°C

Srinagar, Dec 14: As Kashmir remains in the grip of a relentless cold wave, Srinagar registered its coldest night of the season at a bone-chilling minus 5.4°C.

An official from MeT told news agency Kashmir Scroll that Srinagar, the summer capital, experienced an exceptionally chilly night with temperatures plummeting to a bone-chilling minus 5.4°C. This stark contrast highlighted a significant drop from the previous night’s reading, which stood at minus 5.3°C.

The official said that Pahalgam, reported a notable temperature drop, registering minus 5.8°C. This represented a decrease from the previous night’s temperature of minus 5.3°C, he said.

Gulmarg, often dubbed a winter wonderland, maintained a consistent low, recording a chilly minus 5.0°C, he said. This mirrored the temperatures from the night before, which stood at minus 5.5° C, he said.

Qazigund, another key location, witnessed a dip in temperatures, reaching minus 3.8°C compared to the previous night’s reading of minus 3.2°C, he said. Kokernag reported a minimum (weather Update) temperature of minus 1.6°C, down from the previous night’s minus 2.1°C, he said.

Even in Jammu, typically associated with a relatively warmer climate, a slight decrease in temperatures was recorded, he said. The thermometer dipped to 6.7°C compared to the previous night’s reading of 7.1°C, he said.

Till 21st December, he said dry and cold weather most likely to continue over most places of J&K with possibility of brief spell of very light snow at isolated extreme higher reaches of North & North Eastern parts of Kmr Division during the night of 16th Dec.

Shallow to moderate fog likely to continue at many places of Kashmir division, he said. (KS)
