Traffic Plan and Advisory for Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on December 12, 2023

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

1. From 10-12-2023, 1700 hrs. to 11-12-2023, 1700 hrs., Jammu- Srinagar NHW remained blocked for 2 hours 40 mins due to shooting stones at Mehad-Cafeteria Ramban, there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to breakdown of HMVs and poor surface condition of road at Dalwas and single lane traffic at Cafeteria-Mehad, Magerkote, Nachlana between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.

2. Passengers/LMVS operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during day time. Please avoid journey during night hours as apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.

3. HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.

4. HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 12-12-2023:-

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars/HMVs/Load Carriers shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu- Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice- versa. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline.

SFS Convoy Movement:-

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.

SSG ROAD

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, vehicular movement on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road shall be allowed from both sides viz Srinagar towards Kargil and vice-versa. LMVs followed by HMVS shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar between 0830 hrs. to 1100 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVS shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil between 1230 hrs to 1530 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timings.

SFS Convoy, plying from Srinagar to Kargil, shall leave Srinagar at 0800 hrs. SFS Convoy plying from Drass to Srinagar shall plan their movement in such a manner so that Civil Traffic doesn’t get disturbed.

Mughal Road:-

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, vehicular movement on Mughal road shall be allowed from both sides viz. Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behramgalla (Buffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) between 0600 hrs. to 1800 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut of timings

The J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has issued Notification No. 136-BOPEE of 2023 dated 10-12-2023, announcing the commencement of the Second Physical Upgradation/Allotment round of counselling for admission to (12th Based) Paramedical and D. Pharmacy courses for the year 2023.

This decision follows the earlier Notification No. 105-BOPEE of 2023 dated 29.10.2023, where the Board received a shortfall of seats from various Government/Private Colleges/Institutions in the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh. In an effort to fill these vacant seats, along with those remaining unfilled after the First Round of Counselling held from 05.10.2023 to 23.10.2023, the Board has decided to conduct a Second Round of counselling.

The counselling is scheduled to take place according to a specified timetable. Eligible candidates are advised to report to the BOPEE office in Srinagar or Jammu on their respective date/day of counselling between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. for Registration and other necessary formalities.

This initiative aims to ensure that all available seats are filled, providing deserving candidates with the opportunity to pursue Paramedical Diploma Courses based on their 12th-grade qualifications. It is notified for information of all the concerned that the:-

a) Admission process for M. Tech, M. Pharm, 4-Year B.Tech, B.Tech (Lateral Entry) Programmes for the session-2023 offered through University of Kashmir shall stand closed from December 20, 2023.

b)Heads/Directors/Coordinators/Principals of the Departments/Institutes/Campuses/Centres/affiliated Colleges shall ensure that all the admission related formalities be completed upto and including December 20, 2023 till 4:30 PM and no request for admission from the candidates whatsoever can be entertained.

c) The Heads/Directors/Coordinators/Principals of the Departments/Institutes/Campuses/Centres/Affiliated Colleges shall forward a consolidated list of candidates; Category wise with Merit admitted to PG and other Programmes/Courses to the Directorate of Admissions & Competitive Examinations latest by December 22, 2023. HC orders 15-day winter vacations in district courts in Kashmir, parts of Jammu, Ladakh from Jan 1

Srinagar, Dec 11(GNS): The High Court of J&K and Ladakh on Monday ordered 15-day winter vacation for district courts in Kashmir Valley, some areas of Jammu division and Ladakh from January 1.

“It is notified for the information of all concerned that the District Courts in Kashmir province and the Courts located in District Kishtwar; District Doda; and Courts at Batote, Gool, Banihal, and Ukhral in District Ramban and Bani in District Kathua of Jammu Division in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir as well as all Courts located in the Union Territory of Ladakh shall observe 15 days winter vacations with effect from 01-01-2024 to 15-01-2024 (both days inclusive),” Registrar General Shahzad Azeem said in an order, a copy of which lies with GNS.

“The Principal District and Sessions Judges and Chief Judicial Magistrates of the concerned Districts shall make the suitable arrangements for disposal of urgent criminal business arising during the period of such vacations in the areas within their respective jurisdictions.” (GNS)
