BCAS Recruitment 2023: The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is inviting applications for several vacant posts under Group A, Group B, and Group C jobs. Through this recruitment drive, the organization aims at filling up a total of 160 vacant posts. Interested candidates are to check their eligibility before applying for the vacant posts.

PSAJK Appeals Government to announce early Winter Vacations especially for the lower classes

Srinagar, Nov 20: The Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) has asked the government to announce the winter vacation for schools, especially for lower classes on a priority basis, due to minus temperatures and foggy conditions.
The Association said that they have been receiving representations from a number of parents and even schools about the inclement weather conditions. “For a 4-year-old kid, it is extremely difficult to get up early and get ready for school during this weather. We are not a developed nation where houses, buses, and schools are all centrally heated. We have to adjust according to the weather,” said a spokesperson of PSAJK. “Even for parents, it is a difficult task to prepare their wards for schools.”
The Association said that exposure to extreme foggy conditions and minus temperatures can have a negative impact on health of children. At schools too, these children are not able to focus, thus the entire exercise of classes goes to waste. “In order to safeguard the health of our children, we ask the government to announce the winter vacations as early as possible,” he said.
The PSAJK reiterated its demand for re-adjusting the academic calendar in accordance with the local temperature. “We have time and again conveyed to the government that the March session is not feasible for Kashmir. Our schools usually complete their syllabus up to November. We have harsh winters, and during the March session, these months are simply lost, as students don’t know whether to revise old lessons or use the time to study the syllabus of new classes,” he said.
The Association said that the government should align the academic calendar of Kashmir in accordance with local weather conditions. Government orders cannot change weather conditions, and it is in the best interest that we switch back to the old calendar. “The March session has created numerous problems, and it needs to be dealt with before more damage is done. The October session is a norm in almost every country that has harsh winters and we are not demanding something extraordinary,” he said.

Amid infra woes, school children shiver as cold wave grips Kashmir

Concerns have been raised regarding the potential health risks associated with prolonged exposure to low temperatures within school premises.

Srinagar, Nov 19: The abrupt onset of cold weather in Kashmir has made existing school problems worse as children are experiencing discomfort due to inadequate infrastructure in schools amid the prevailing cold period.

Over the past few days, the temperature at various places across Kashmir has plummeted below normal, leaving school children grappling with the bitter cold.
Despite the challenging conditions, the government has yet to announce any plans for winter vacations for school children particularly the lower classes, raising concern among the parents and other stakeholders alike.

As the mercury continues to dip, schools are facing a pressing issue with insufficient heating facilities, leaving classrooms and common areas unpleasantly cold.

Complaints are pouring in from all districts that school children are shivering in their classrooms, with students of more than one class crammed in one classroom due to the dearth of the adequate infrastructure in schools.

Parents are expressing growing frustration with the lack of action from authorities, emphasising the adverse impact on their children’s well-being and ability to focus on studies.

“The Director School Education Kashmir recently made a statement that they need to complete 220 academic days of the session. But it seems that he is not aware of the ground situation. The students are shivering in schools,” said Iqbal Ahmad Najar, a parent from Baramulla whose kids are enrolled in a government school.
“During the enrollment drive, the department claimed to provide best facilities to children in schools but the real situation is contrary to those claims. Our children are suffering,” he said. (GK)

In Srinagar, dry conditions and a cloudy sky contribute to atmospheric haze, reducing visibility. The dense fog persists in Srinagar, creating challenges for vehicles during early morning and evening hours.

As per MeT data, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 0.8°C and a maximum of 12.5°C on the preceding Monday. Other recorded minimum temperatures include Kupwara -0.8°C, Qazigund -0.4°C, Kokarnaag 1.2°C, Pahalgam -2.6°C

Written Examination for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), Public Works (R&B) Department, held on 19.11.2023- Provisional Answer key regarding.

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) conducted the Written Examination for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), UT Cadre, Public Works (R&B) Department, advertised vide Advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2022, under Item No. 201on 19th November, 2023.

The Provisional Answer Key of the question paper (Series A, B, C, D) for the above said examinationis provided at Annexure “A” to this notice for the information of the candidates.

Any candidate having objection(s) to the answer key, may submit his/her objection(s)/representation(s) in respect of such question(s) on prescribed format/proforma annexed herewith as Annexure “B” along with the documentary proof/evidence substantiating the claim(hard copies only) and a fee of Rs. 200/- (in the form of demand draft) per question (refundable in case of genuine/correct representation/objection) in favour of the Accounts Officer, J&K Services Selection Board.

In case, the objection is found correct, the Answer Key will be revised accordingly in respect of all candidates. No candidate will be informed about the acceptance/non-acceptance of his/her objection individually.

The objections/representations can be submitted in offline mode only, in the office of JKSSB, CPO Chowk, Panjtirthi, Jammu/JKSSB, Zamzam Building, Rambagh, Srinagar on three working days starting from 20-11-2023, during office hours only. The Board shall not entertain any such representations/objections after the expiry of the stipulated period or any other mode.

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

1. Passengers/LMVs operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during day time. Please avoid journey during night hours as movement of nomads from Kashmir valley towards Jammu may cause inconvenience to the commuters.

2. HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu- Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.

3. HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

*TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 20-11-2023:-*

Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) is closed due to damaged road at Kishtwari Pather, Banihal. Restoration work is going on. Decision regarding the vehicular movement on NH-44 shall be taken tomorrow morning after assessing the road situation.

*SSG ROAD*

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, vehicular movement on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road shall be allowed from both sides viz Srinagar towards Kargil and vice-versa. LMVS followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar between 0730 hrs. to 1100 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil between 1300 hrs to 1700 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timings.

SFs Convoy, plying from Srinagar to Kargil, shall leave Srinagar at 0800 hrs. SFs Convoy plying from Drass to Srinagar shall plan their movement in such a manner so that Civil Traffic doesn’t get disturbed.

*Mughal Road:-*

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, vehicular movement on Mughal road shall be allowed from both sides viz Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behramgalla (Buffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) between 0600 hrs. to 1800 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut of timings

Australia won a record-extending sixth men’s Cricket World Cup on Sunday, defying the odds and a partisan home crowd in Ahmedabad, to defeat host nation India by six wickets.

India fell just short of fulfilling its country’s expectations after it had dominated much of this tournament, cruising to 10 consecutive wins and ratcheting up the pressure in this cricket-obsessed nation that has waited 12 years for another one-day trophy.

But its near impregnable batting line-up faltered in the face of Australia’s savvy bowling while Travis Head’s spectacular 137 anchored Australia’s run chase as it cantered towards victory and another World Cup trophy.

INDIA vs AUSTRALIA LIVE, IND vs AUS: A sea of blue will take over the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad as India take on Australia in the final match of ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. What a tournament the two teams have had. As 45 days, 47 matches come to an end, the world will get their new champions after five years.

It is almost as if history repeats itself and this one is from 20 years ago, when India faced the Aussies in the 2003 final.

India’s campaign in this tournament has been nothing less than a dream. 10 matches played and emerging victorious in all the matches, the Men in Blue have shown a new level of grit, passion and love for the sport.

A young cricket team led by Rohit Sharma surprised everyone and answered questions raised against them including the strength of the team’s middle order.

Solid opening stands by Shubman Gill and the skipper himself was just the start the team needed. Virat Kohli’s partnership with Gill and Iyer in the middle and on a few occasions, KL Rahul kept the momentum of the team going. One cannot miss the history created by Kohli in this tournament as he surpassed the record of having the most number of ODI centuries in the world.

Iyer, KL scored big runs in the middle for the team.The duo had the ability to play the big shots and even finish the game with Suryakumar Yadav.

As for the pacers, Bumrah, Shami and Siraj have been nothing short of lethal against every opponent. The three have been consistent with their line and length throughout. A special mention to Mohammed Shami who has been extraordinary in this edition as he has the crown of most wickets and the best figures in the World Cup. The spinners, Kuldeep Yadav and Jadeja, were exceptional in the middle as they were spot on in not giving any room to the batsmen for going big.

On the other hand, the way Australia picked itself and literally did not look back after the start they have had, is commendable.

After losing to India in their campaign opener and South Africa next, Pat Cummins and company were resilient to clinch 8 straight wins and make it to the finale. With Warner, Marsh and Head stepping up towards the end, as the top order, the Ozs managed to chase down any total or even set a big one on the board.

Glenn Maxwell’s historic innings of 201 (not out) against Afghanistan saved the Men in Yellow from an upset.

The bowling attack of the skipper himself, Starc, Hazlewood and Zampa sat well to be able to defend games. Adam Zampa is only second to Shami in having most wickets in this tournament.

The last time the fans experienced India vs Australia in this tournament, the Men in Blue defeated the Ozs by six wickets. Whereas, the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) conducted Written Examination for the following Matric Level Posts on 05th November, 2023; and

Whereas, the J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB), vide Notice No. JKSSB-COEOEXAM(UT)/88/2023-03 (7314392) dated: 05-11-2023, issued provisional Answer Key in respect of the written test; and

Whereas, the objections received in response to the Provisional Answer Key were examined and the revised/final answer key in respect of written examination held for the above said posts has been notified vide No. JKSSB-COEOEXAM(UT)/88/2023-03 (7314392) dated: 19-11-2023.
