The minimum age of the candidates should be 20 years and the maximum age of the candidates should be 45 years for the post of Armourer. For the post of Control Room Operators, the minimum age of the candidates should be 20 years and the maximum age should be 48 years for Ex-servicemen/ Ex-CAPF/AR and 35 years for State Fire Service Personnel.

There is good news for candidates applying for the posts of Director (Group A), Joint Director (Group A), and Research Scientist (Group A) offered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The deadline to apply for the different positions has now been extended to September 12 this year. So those who missed the chance earlier can apply for the vacancies now. Candidates can fill out the application form available on the official website of NTA at recruitment.nta.nic.in.

Meanwhile, the receipt of the application in NTA through Proper Channel (Cadre Controlling Authority/ Parent Organisation) has also been deferred up to September 18.

What Is The Age Limit For NTA Recruitment?

In order to be eligible for the posts, a candidate must be below the age of 56 at the time of application.

Govt to upgrade 6,000 schools with proper infrastructure this year: LG Sinha

Srinagar, Sep 05 (KNO): Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha Tuesday said that the administration was aware of infrastructural issues faced by teachers and students of government schools and assured that the authorities will upgrade at least 6,000 public schools this year.

Speaking during the Teachers Day at Kashmir International Convention Centre (KICC), Sinha said, “I am aware about the infrastructural issues faced by the teachers and students in government schools.”

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Sinha said, “Today, we have nearly 7,000 such government schools wherein students don’t have enough infrastructure to study in.”

“However, on this teachers day, I assure you that at least 6,000 such schools will be upgraded and equipped with the proper infrastructure this year,” he said.

Sinha said, “I must say that in the past, some ignorant persons have upgraded the undeserving schools by neglecting the deserved ones. We are trying to overcome the problems that have been created in the past.”

The LG further said that teaching a student is not merely teaching about the syllabi. “I think the role of the teachers should be to bring out the actual hidden talent and creativity.”

He also said that a teacher should not only teach what is written in books but also shall give students an education that will boost them to bring some innovative ideas.

“For me, that teacher is not the best who will only appreciate the toppers of the class but the one who will break the barriers and see the uniqueness of all the students separately,” Sinha said.

Quoting a survey, the LG said that in the findings it has come to fore that the traditional way of teaching was developing negative feelings among the students.

He said, “I have full faith that under NEP-2020, besides using traditional methods, the teachers need to adopt non-traditional methods of teaching too so that the uniqueness and the individuality of the students can be carved out.”

Sinha added that the teachers have a huge responsibility to change the ‘outdated and obsolete pattern of teaching’ wherein creativity of the students would be counted rather than the academic marks.

He said, “Rather than providing information to the students, I think we need to give students a lifelong route of a road map wherein they can be successful in the future.”

“The way we are focusing on girl education, I think that in the coming five years, no female student will be out of school and illiterate.” “I have observed that in almost every education sector, girl students are at the forefront,” Sinha said—(KNO)

Yantrik: Class 10th passed from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) and Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/Power) ) Engineering of duration 03 or 04 years approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Age Limit

The age limit of the candidate who wants to apply for the posts should be between 18 years to 22 years of age. Candidates should be born between 01 May 2002 to 30 April 2006 (both dates inclusive). Age relaxation is available for reserved categories candidates.

Selection Process

Candidates will be based on All India order of merit based on their performance in Stage-I, II, III & IV meeting the laid down medical standards during medical examination and the number of vacancies available for the post.

Candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 300. The SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fee.

Srinagar, Sep 05 (KNO): After a long dry spell, Jammu & Kashmir parts received fresh snowfall in the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday while the weatherman here has predicted dry weather conditions till September 11.

In a daily advisory issued by the Meteorological department, the weatherman has stated that the weather conditions in the next two weeks are favourable for harvesting of crops and outdoor activities.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the light rainfall was recorded at several places including the summer capital of J&K, Srinagar in the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday.

However, the weatherman has stated that there is no forecast of any major rainfall in the next two weeks, saying that the weather would remain mainly dry till September 11 in J&K.

Mainly clear & dry weather is expected for the next one week while a brief spell of light rain may occur at isolated places on certain occasions, although chances are very less, the MeT official said.

He further said that overall, there is no forecast of any major rain/snowfall for next two weeks, but subdued rainfall will continue for another two weeks in J&K—(KNO)

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

1. From 04-09-2023, 1700 hrs. to 05-09-2023, 1700 hrs. Jammu-Srinagar NHW remained blocked for 24 mins due to shooting stones at Mehar, Ramban. Slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to breakdown of 05 HMVs and single stretch at Mehar, Cafeteria and Dalwas between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.
2. HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
3. HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 06-09-2023:-

LMVs/HMVs/LOAD CARRIERS;-
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions LMVs Passenger/Private Cars/HMVs/Load Carriers shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline.

SFs Convoy Movement:-
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.

SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, vehicular movement on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road shall be allowed from both sides viz Srinagar towards Kargil and vice-versa. LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar at 0730 hrs. to 1100 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1300 hrs to 1700 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timings.
*SFs Convoy, plying from Srinagar to Kargil, shall leave Srinagar at 0800 hrs. SFs Convoy plying from Drass to Srinagar shall plan their movement in such a manner so that Civil Traffic doesn’t get disturbed.*

Mughal Road:-
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, vehicular movement on Mughal road shall be allowed from both sides viz. Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behramgalla (Buffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) at 0600 hrs. upto 1800 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut of timings

MES Recruitment Scam Busted, 5 Accused Arrested in Kupwara

Kupwara, Sep 5 (GNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said to have busted a recruitment scam in Military Engineering Services (MES) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

“In a significant breakthrough, the Kupwara Police has successfully dismantled a fraudulent recruitment scheme preying on the aspirations of young job seekers. On September 1, 2023, one Mumtaz Ahmad Mir, residing in Gund Zonareshi Chowkibal, lodged a formal complaint with the Kralpora Police Station, alleging that his son, Mohd Sami Mir, had fallen victim to a recruitment scam orchestrated by a person namely Nazir Ahmad Khan, a resident of Doolipora Trehgam. The complainant asserted that his son had been swindled of Rs. 70,000 under the false pretense of securing employment within the Military Engineering Service (MES), accompanied by a counterfeit appointment letter”, reads a statement issued to GNS.

“Responding swiftly to this complaint and supported by credible intelligence from the Military Intelligence (MI), the Kralpora Police Station initiated legal proceedings by registering FIR No. 76/2023. This FIR encompasses pertinent sections of the law, marking the commencement of a thorough investigation.”

“During the investigative process, statements from key witnesses were recorded, and counterfeit appointment letters were seized as evidence. Nazir Ahmad Khan was subsequently apprehended in connection with the scam. Further revelations unfolded as the accused disclosed his affiliation with a group of scammers employing a distinctive modus operandi to defraud unemployed youths eagerly seeking positions within MES. Additionally, he divulged the identities of his four collaborators as Zahoor Ahmad Mir, resident of Rawathpora, Shakeel Ahmad Makroo, resident of Awantipora, Feroz Ahmad Khashu, resident of Shaltang Srinagar and Shafkat Ahmad Shah, resident of Pampore Pulwama”, reads the statement.

“Utilizing the evidence at hand, special police teams dedicated to this case swiftly apprehended all four individuals. Notably, Shakeel Ahmad Makroo emerged as the mastermind, operating under the alias “Raju,” presenting himself as an influential Kashmiri Pandit and an MES officer stationed at Rangreth Srinagar. He enlisted the assistance of Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Feroz Ahmad Khashu, and Nazir Ahmad Khan as field agents, entrusted with the task of extracting money from unsuspecting job seekers, promising them MES positions. Shafkat Ahmad Shah, the technical expert of the operation, was responsible for fabricating and printing counterfeit appointment letters and other documentation. He operated from the “Helpline advertising agency” in Rangreth Srinagar, where he manufactured these fraudulent documents”, reads the statement.

“As of now, the gang has duped approximately eight innocent unemployed youths hailing from North Kashmir, amassing an illicit sum of roughly Rs. 25 lakhs. Substantial evidence, including counterfeit appointment letters, gate passes, laptops, desktops, printers, and cellphones, have been seized from the possession of the accused. The investigation remains ongoing, with expectations of additional arrests and further financial recoveries as the case unfolds.”
