Srinagar, Aug 09 (KNO): Days after announcing power tariff relaxation to the poor, the government on Wednesday said that the formal procedure has not been followed yet while there will be exemption for smart meters installation across the Valley.

Pertinently, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha made a big announcement, saying that the government will take care of the electricity bills of the poor across Jammu& Kashmir. The announcement was made by the Lt Governor on Monday.

Chief Engineer, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), Javed Yousuf Dar told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the announcement has not taken a formal shape yet, but the measures in this regard will be started soon.

“We have not received any formal order yet, but let me make it clear that the smart meters will have to be installed across Kashmir. The consumers belonging to any category, be it APL, BP:, AAY or others, will be connected with smart meters,” he said.

However, he said that there would be possibly less rates for the poor compared to the elite class. “The decision has not taken a formal shape yet, but will be done soon. Nonetheless, the decision can only be implemented when the elite class consumers pay their bills as per the usage. We can go ahead with any decision, but at least those having capability should pay their tariff as per the usage,” he said.

“Things about the power tariff bills of poor will be cleared once the formal order will be received,” he added—(KNO)[ez-toc]

Medical Counselling Committee will begin NEET UG 2023 counselling for Round 2 on August 9, 2023. Candidates who want to apply for the counselling round can do it through the official site of MCC at mcc.nic.in.

As per the schedule, the last date to apply online is till August 14, 2023. The choice filling and locking will begin on August 10 and will close on August 15, 2023. The seat allotment processing will be conducted from August 16 to August 17, 2023. The result will be announced on August 18, 2023. The documents can be uploaded on MCC portal till August 19, 2023.

Candidates can report or join the institutes from August 20 to August 28, 2023. The verification of joined candidates by the institutes can be done from August 29 to August 30, 2023.

Srinagar, August 9 (GNS): In lieu of celebration of Independence Day with enthusiasm, fervor and zeal, the Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri today held a meeting with representatives of Civil Society and Trade Associations at TRC for wider participation to celebrate national event with pride.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad; SSP, Srinagar; SSP Traffic, other officers from district administration besides representatives from civil society and trade associations including shopkeepers, hoteliers, houseboat owners, Shikara association, transporters, etc.

During the meeting, the Div Com highlighted the importance of celebrating the proud moment of the entire nation. He stressed that Independence Day makes every citizen proud of their country and nurtures patriotism and unity among them.

He also highlighted the role of Civil Society and Trade Associations in observing Independence Day with enthusiasm and zeal.

Div Com stated that like other big events held in J&K including G20 and Yatra-2023, this year the Independence Day shall also be celebrated as a major event with the participation of Civil Society, Traders, Youth and general public.

Div Com impressed on making the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign successful by hoisting the National Flag on the top of every house. He said that mass participation of people in hoisting the National Flag will create an environment of festivity, will instill spirit of unity among citizens and promote integrity of the nation.

The traders and members of Civil Society reiterated their commitment for their vehement participation in the celebration of national event. They assured full cooperation and support by all means to make it a bigger moment for the country.

The Div Com also welcomed innovative suggestions from participants regarding celebration of Independence Day and organising Tiranga rallies.

He also invited them for a Tiranga Rally on August 13, which will commence at 6 am at SKICC.

Div Com asked participants to decorate their establishments with Tricolor lights and make Lal Chowk a colorful square.(GNS)

Srinagar, Aug 9 (GNS): A 51-year-old man died after falling from a moving train in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.

They told GNS that one Abdul Salam Haji (51), son of Ghulam Mohammad Haji, resident of Zamalgam Bona Gund Verinag Anantnag fell down a train along Qazigund-Sadura section.

The person, the officials said died on the spot.

Confirming it, a police official told GNS that they have taken cognisance of the incident. (GNS)

Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has released the Interview/Personality Test schedule for recruitment of Prosecuting Officer in the Commission. The interviews will be conducted from September 4 to 15, 2023. Candidates will be able to find the final list of shortlisted candidates along with the interview schedule on jkpsc.nic.in.

Interview Schedule for the candidates who have qualified J&K Prosecuting Officer (Main) Examination, 2022.

The interviews of the candidates, who have qualified for Personality Test (Interview) of the J&K Prosecuting Officer (Main) Examination, 2022 as
per result Notification No.PSC/Exam(S)/2023/36 dated 02.08.2023, shall be conducted from 4th September, 2023 to 15th September, 2023, at J&K Public Service Commission Ofice, Solina, Srinagar. The eligibility of the candidates subject to the provisions contained in SO 41 of 2021 dated 08.02.2021.

The JKPSC Main exam was conducted from May 31 to June 17, 2023. A total of 821 candidates appeared for the main examination.

“The interviews of the candidates, who have qualified for the Personality Test (Interview) of the J&K Prosecuting Officer (Main) Examination, 2022 as per result Notification No. PSC/Exam(S)/2023/36 dated 02.08.2023, shall be conducted from 4th September, 2023 to 15th September 2023, at J&K Public Service Commission Office, Solina, Srinagar. The eligibility of candidates is subject ot the provisions contained in SO 41 of 2021 dated 08.02.2021,” reads the official notification.

The Indian Navy has invited applications for eligible and interested candidates for Short Service Commission (SSC) Information Technology or SSC IT. Candidates born between January 1999 and 2004 can apply for the post on joinindiannavy.gov.in. The last date to apply is August 20.

Indian Navy SSC IT Notification: Join Indian Navy has released notification for recruitment to the post of Short Service Commission (SSC) Information Technology, or SSC IT. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the Indian Navy SSC IT (Executive Branch) – January 2024 course through the official website– joinindiannavy.gov.in.

The Indian Navy SSC IT 2024 application process will start on August 4 and the last date to fill in the online application form is August 20, 2023.
