Srinagar, July 5 (JKNS): In a heartwarming moment during a Muharram function in Srinagar, a young boy was seen hugging Education Minister Sakina Itoo and pleading, “Mam, aur chutti karo na please” a request for an extension in the ongoing summer vacation amid the intense heatwave gripping the Kashmir Valley.

The emotional appeal, caught on camera, quickly resonated across social media platforms, capturing the public sentiment shared by students and parents alike.

Speaking to media persons after the event, Education Minister Sakina Itoo, as per news agency JKNS, acknowledged the rising concerns. “We receive calls daily from students, parents, and even teachers about the current heat conditions and requests for an extension of vacations,” she said.

“Yes, the weather is extremely hot. We are also hoping for some rainfall soon. A decision on the possibility of extending the break will be reviewed tomorrow (Sunday),” the minister added.

Temperature likely to Drop a MET predicts Rainfall from July 6 to 8

Srinagar, July 5 (JKNS): The Kashmir Valley is likely to experience the hottest day of the season today, but a spell of relief is expected beginning Sunday, with the Meteorological Department forecasting moderate rainfall and a drop in temperatures.

Director Meteorological Centre Srinagar, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, told news agency JKNS that maximum temperatures are likely to peak across the Valley on Saturday. “The heatwave is likely to subside from Sunday onwards as rainfall is likely,” he said.

According to a detailed forecast issued by the MeT Centre, July 6 to 8 will likely remain generally cloudy, with intermittent light to moderate rainfall at many places. “Few areas may also witness intense rainfall, especially in parts of Jammu Division,” the forecast reads.

On 6-8th July, Generally cloudy with possibility of intermittent light to moderate Rain/thundershower at many places. Few places may receive intense showers with heavy Rain at isolated places of Jammu Division.

From July 9 to 10, light to moderate rain is expected at scattered to many places, while July 11 and 12 may see a return of hot and humid weather with brief showers at some locations.

The Meteorological Department has also issued a weather advisory, warning of possible flash floods at vulnerable locations, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones during the July 6 to 8 period.

The advisory also cautions about a likely rise in water levels in rivers, streams, and local Nallahs, which may cause waterlogging in low-lying areas.

Farmers have been advised to suspend irrigation and other farm operations during the rainy period due to the risk of flooding and crop damage. (JKNS)

Srinagar, July 4 (KNS): Director of School Education Kashmir, GN Itoo, has clarified that no decision has been made yet regarding the extension of summer vacations in schools. He urged the public not to pay attention to rumors circulating on social media.

Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Itoo said, “There are still three days left before schools are scheduled to reopen. So far, we have not issued any order, and we cannot say anything definite at this point.

He added that the department will take a decision based on the situation and communicate it officially. “If anything changes, we will inform the public through proper channels,” he said.

Summer vacations in Kashmir schools are currently scheduled to end on July 7.(KNS)

CUET UG Result 2025: After the official announcement, candidates can check their marks on cuet.nta.nic.in.

CUET UG Result 2025: The result of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025 will be announced today, July 4. After the official announcement, candidates can check their marks on the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA), cuet.nta.nic.in, using their application numbers and dates of birth.

How to check CUET UG results 2025 when declared

Visit the official website, cuet.nta.nic.in.

Open the CUET UG 2025 scorecard download link.

Enter your login credentials.

Submit and check the result.

NTA will also announce the CUET UG toppers’ list and their marks along with the result.

After the CUET result, qualified candidates need to apply for admission. There is no common counselling process for CUET UG and candidates need to apply for each institution separately.

CUET is the national-level entrance test for undergraduate admission to central and other participating universities.

This year, the exam was held from May 13 to June 4, including a re-test on June 2 and 4 for those who originally appeared for the test on May 13 and 16.

After releasing the CUET provisional answer key, NTA invited objections, if any, on the payment of ₹200 per question up to June 20.

“Challenges made by the candidates will be verified by the panel of subject experts. If the challenge of any candidate is found correct, the Answer Key will be revised and applied in the response of all the candidates accordingly. Based on the revised Final Answer Key, the result will be prepared and declared. No individual candidate will be informed about the acceptance/non-acceptance of his/her challenge. The key finalized by the Experts after the challenge will be final,” NTA said.

The final answer key has been released, and a few questions have been dropped.

NTA, in the exam’s information bulletin, said every effort will be made to ensure that each question has one unique answer and if it is found that a question has more than one option, it will be dealt with in the following manner-

If more than one option is found to be correct, then five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.

If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or a Question is dropped then all candidates who  appeared will be given five marks (+5) irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted.

The exam was taken using multiple-choice questions, and for each correct answer, candidates will get five marks.

If the answer is wrong, one mark will be deducted, and no marks will be awarded or deducted for questions not attempted.

UPSC CAPF 2025: Exam Details 

The written exam has two papers on the same day.

Paper 1 (10 am-12 pm, 250 marks) will test General Ability and Intelligence with multiple-choice questions in English and Hindi.

Paper 2 (2 pm-5 pm, 200 marks) will cover General Studies, an Essay (in English or Hindi), and Comprehension/Language skills (in English only).

After the written test, candidates must clear the Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), an Interview/Personality Test, and a Medical Examination.

UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandant 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be 20-25 years old as of August 1, 2025 (born between August 2, 2000, and August 1, 2005). Aspirants also need a Bachelor’s degree (final-year students may apply provisionally but must graduate before the PST/PET stage). UPSC may, in special cases, accept equivalent professional or technical qualifications. Anyone already appointed as a CAPF Assistant Commandant from an earlier exam is not eligible to reapply.
