The Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has released the Marks Distribution Scheme for the academic session 2023-24, outlining the maximum and minimum pass marks for Higher Secondary Part-II (Class 12th) in various streams including Humanities, Science, Home Science, and Commerce.
According to the notice issued by JKBOSE, the minimum number of marks required to pass the examination varies based on the subjects. In General English, the passing percentage is set at 33%, while in each of the remaining four elective subjects chosen by the candidate, the passing percentage is 36%.
For subjects that include a practical examination, candidates must secure a minimum of 36% in both theory and practicals. This requirement extends to obtaining 36% separately in the practical test and internal assessment. Additionally, a candidate must achieve an overall aggregate of 36% in the combination of theory and practical components.
These regulations highlight the board‘s commitment to maintaining a standard evaluation system across different subjects and ensuring that students demonstrate proficiency in both theoretical and practical aspects of their chosen subjects.
The decision to set varying passing percentages reflects the diverse nature of subjects offered in Higher Secondary Part-II.
