SKIMS announces winter vacation 2024 for faculty members from January 01

In a recent announcement, the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) has outlined the winter vacation schedule for its esteemed faculty staff for the year 2024. The break is divided into two halves, providing flexibility for the academic professionals.

The winter recess for faculty members is scheduled from January 1, 2024, to January 28, 2024, for the first half, and from February 1, 2024, to February 28, 2024, for the second half. Heads of Departments have been urged to promptly submit the names of faculty members who wish to avail themselves of either the first or second half of the vacation.

Maintaining a balance, it has been emphasized that 50% of the faculty staff should be available in each department during both halves of the vacation. Additionally, department heads are instructed to ensure the presence of at least one senior faculty member in the department throughout each half, whenever feasible.

An important stipulation is that no alterations will be entertained once the roster is received from the respective Heads of Departments. The administration reserves the right to summon any faculty member back to duty in the event of emergencies. read Order below;

Crucially, the administration has underlined the necessity of including residential addresses and contact numbers in the vacation roster for faculty members. This information is deemed essential for effective communication and coordination during the break.
