Srinagar, May 9: All educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed until Monday, May 12, officials sources said on Friday. The decision comes amid heightened tensions and security concerns in the region.

Authorities said a review will be conducted on Monday to determine whether schools and colleges can safely reopen. “The situation is being closely monitored, and a decision regarding the resumption of classes will be taken on May 12,” an official source said.

  • Avoid Water Activities During Stormy Weather: Boating, Shikara rides, and any form of water-based recreation should be avoided in Dal Lake, Wular Lake, and other water bodies during spells of inclement weather or gusty winds to prevent accidents.
  • Landslide & Mudslide Risk: Intense showers, particularly in vulnerable hilly and mountainous areas, may trigger landslides and mudslides. Caution is advised for travelers and locals in such zones.
  • Temperature Alert for Jammu Division: A significant rise in daytime temperatures is expected in the Jammu region from 13th May onwards, which may affect daily routines, agriculture, and water usage.

JKBOSE Revaluation Form 2025: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has officially announced that all eligible candidates of the Secondary School Examination (Class 10th) and Higher Secondary Part-II (Class 12th) Annual Regular 2025 session who wish to obtain photocopies of their answer scripts and/or apply for re-evaluation can now do so online.

Students must apply online through the official JKBOSE website: www.jkbose.nic.in.

Fee Structure:

  • Re-evaluation: Rs. 550 per answer script
  • Photocopy: Rs. 285 per answer script

Srinagar, May 08 (KNO): Amid prevailing situation, authorities on Wednesday said that schools, colleges and universities shall remain closed across Jammu and Kashmir on Friday and Saturday.

Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Minister of Education, Sakina Itoo said, “Keeping in view the safety of students, all the private and government schools, colleges and universities shall remain closed on Friday and Saturday.”

Registrar of KU also said, “We have decided to suspend the classwork for Friday. If there are any other changes, we will notify the students accordingly.”—(KNO)

Srinagar, May 08 (KNO): Amid prevailing situation, authorities on Wednesday said that the classwork in all private and government schools upto 12th standard shall remain suspended across Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Minister of Education, Sakina Itoo said, “Keeping in view the safety of students, class work in schools upto 12th standard shall remain suspended on Friday.”

Meanwhile the University of Kashmir and Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) has also suspended the classwork for Friday.

Registrar of KU said, “We have decided to suspend the classwork for Friday. If there are any other changes, we will notify the students accordingly.”—(KNO)

JKSET/LASET Exam Scheduled on May 11 Postponed in J&K, Ladakh

Jammu, May 8 (JKNS): In light of the current situation, Jammu University have postponed the JKSET/LASET Examination 2024–25, which was scheduled to be held on May 11, 2025 (Sunday) across the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

In an official notice issued by the Jammu University Member Secretary (SET), a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, it reads, “It is hereby notified for the information of all the concerned that due to the prevailing situation, the JKSET/LASET Examination 2024-25, scheduled to be held on 11th May, 2025 (Sunday) in UT of J&K and UT of Ladakh, stands postponed till further notice.”

The notice further mentions: “Fresh date of the examination shall be notified very soon. The candidates are advised to visit the JKSET website www.jujkset.in regularly for updates.” (JKNS)

All Schools, Colleges to Remain Closed in Five Jammu Districts on May 9: Div Com Jammu

Jammu, May 8 (JKNS): Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar on Thursday said that all educational institutions across five districts of the Jammu division will remain shut tomorrow as a precautionary measure.

Divisional Commissioner Jammu as per news agency JKNS stated, “In view of the prevailing situation, all Schools, Colleges & educational institutions (private as well as Government) in the districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch shall remain closed tomorrow on 9th May as well.”

The closure comes amid heightened security concerns on the boarders. (JKNS)

Srinagar, May 8 (JKNS): Director School Education Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Ittoo, on Thursday said that all government and private schools in select areas of Kashmir shall remain closed for two days as a precautionary measure.

As per news agency JKNS, director school education said, “All Government and Private Schools of Baramulla, Kupwara, Sub-Division (Gurez) and schools falling in the proximity of Srinagar and Awantipora Airport shall remain closed on 9th and 10th of May 2025 as precautionary measures.”

The decision has been taken in view of the current security situation and to ensure the safety of students and staff, he added. (JKNS)

BGSBU Postpones All Exams Scheduled from May 13 to 17

Rajouri, May 8 (JKNS): Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri on Thursday announced postponement of all exams scheduled between May 13 and May 17.

In an official notification issued by the Controller of Examinations of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, it is hereby notified for information of all the concerned that in view of the prevailing circumstances, all the University examinations scheduled to be held from 13th May, 2025 to 17th May, 2025 stand postponed.

Fresh dates for such of the postponed University examinations shall be notified separately by the concerned Principals, I/c Principals, HoDs, I/c HoDs, I/c Directors and Coordinators in due course of time, notice reads.

However, all the University examinations scheduled from May 19, 2025 onwards shall remain unchanged and being held in accordance with already notified Date Sheets, it reads.

Accordingly, to avoid any confusion, the students are hereby advised to keep in touch with the concerned College / Department / Centre and University website for any update / query.
