In a First, J&K BOSE Likely to Announce 10th and 12th Results Together by April 30 or May 1

For the first time, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) is considering announcing the results of both the 10th and 12th standard examinations on the same day. In a significant move, the board has clarified that it plans to declare the results by April 30 or May 1. Top officials of BOSE informed the Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that they are working to set a new trend by releasing multiple results simultaneously. “As of now, we are expecting to announce the results of 12th standard on April 30,” an official stated. However, they added that there is an 80 percent chance of the 12th standard results being declared on April 30, but in case of any delays, May 1 has been kept as a backup date.

The officials further mentioned that the results of the 10th standard might also be declared on the same date scheduled for the 12th standard. If needed, they have kept a window open for the 10th class results between April 30 and May 2. “We want to set some new precedents and trends by declaring different results on the same day,” the official emphasized. They highlighted that BOSE is putting in maximum efforts to ensure the twin declaration happens, a move that would be a first for the Board.

The Board has engaged its staff to work round the clock to meet the ambitious goal of announcing both 10th and 12th class results simultaneously. “My staff is working tirelessly so that we can announce the results of both classes on the same date,” the official said. The initiative reflects BOSE’s commitment to streamlining and speeding up the result declaration process, which could positively impact students and the overall academic calendar.

Notably, a total of 3,55,963 students were registered for the annual regular examinations of classes 10th, 11th, and 12th. This included 1,32,992 candidates for 10th standard, 1,20,673 for 11th standard, and 1,02,298 students for 12th standard. Meanwhile, the Education Minister, Sakina Itoo, had directed BOSE and concerned authorities to ensure that the results are declared by April 30, further pushing the board to accelerate the process. The move is being seen as a positive step towards improving efficiency in the education system.

For the first time, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) is mulling to announce the results of 10th and 12th standard on the same date.

Besides, the board has further clarified that it is planning to announce the results by April-30 or May-01.

The top officials of BOSE informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the board was trying to set a new trend of announcing multiple results on the same day.

“As of now, we are expecting to announce the results of 12th standard on April-30,” the official said.

It also said, “80 percent chance of declaring the results of 12th standard is on April-30 but in case there will be any change, the results will be declared on May-01.”

“We may declare the results of 10th standard on the same date we have scheduled the 12th class,” he said.

The official however further said that in case of 10th standard results, the board has three days from April-30 to May-02.

“We want to set some new precedents and trends of declaring different results on the same day. BOSE will most likely announce the twin results of 10th and 12th classes on the same day,” the official said.

Students Not to Blame for Incident, Says J&K Minister Sakina Itoo

“Due to some incident, students should not be held at fault”: J-K Minister Sakina Itoo

Chandigarh (Punjab), April 26: Jammu and Kashmir Minister Sakina Itoo met with senior officials of the Punjab and Chandigarh administrations in Chandigarh on Saturday to discuss issues concerning the safety and well-being of students from Jammu and Kashmir studying in the region.

Speaking to ANI, Itoo emphasised that due to some incident, the students should not be held at fault as they have come to study only.

“I had come here to meet the students from J&K. I met with the Governor, and both the DGPs (of Punjab and Chandigarh) were present at that meeting. There isn’t any major issue, just some minor incidents that happened here, where there were arguments among the students. The students themselves are not very disturbed, but their parents are upset. They are calling their children back home, but since the exams are approaching, I suggested that if possible, the exams could be postponed or made online, so that the students can be relieved from this distress,” the J-K minister said.

“I have spoken with the J&K students and also with the college administration. The police have played their role well. Whenever there were small complaints, they took immediate action. Due to some incident, the students should not be held at fault. They have come here only to study,” Sakina Itoo said.

During the meeting, the Minister requested the Governor to take proactive steps to instil some sense of security among the J-K students and business community.

The Governor assured the Minister of full cooperation and stated that the Punjab and Chandigarh Administrations would ensure the safety and security of all Jammu and Kashmir residents, as well as the students.

Punjab Director General of Police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav and DGP, Chandigarh Police, Surendra Singh Yadav, were also present on the occasion.

During her visit, Sakina personally engaged with a cross-section of the Jammu and Kashmir student community and business professionals based in Punjab. The Minister held discussions with them regarding their safety concerns and emotional well-being, particularly in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack. She also engaged with several students and individuals on the phone, given the prevailing situation.

Later, Sakina Itoo visited the Universal Group of Institutions in Chandigarh to discuss the security concerns of students with college authorities, as students from Jammu and Kashmir in this college had left for their hometowns.

The Minister also visited the Saraswati Group of Colleges in Chandigarh, where she personally interacted with the students. She assured the students of all possible assistance from the Government.–(ANI)
