Srinagar, March 2:The Meteorological Department has predicted another Western Disturbance set to impact Jammu and Kashmir from tomorrow onwards, bringing light to moderate rain and snowfall across the region till the morning of March 4.

According to the News Agency—Srinagar News Observer (SNO) As per the forecast, light to moderate rain showers will drench the plains of Kashmir, while higher reaches are likely to witness moderate to heavy snowfall during this period.

However, an improvement in weather conditions is expected from the early hours of March 4, with mostly dry weather likely to prevail across Jammu and Kashmir till March 9.

Authorities have advised residents, especially those in higher reaches, to remain cautious due to possible disruptions caused by snowfall.—(SNO)

The registration process for NEET 2025 started on February 7 and will end on March 7 at 11:50 pm, but the agency does not want candidates to wait till the last minute to submit their forms.

“Candidates are advised to complete the process at the earliest to avoid any last-minute difficulties. Candidates are requested to ensure timely submission of their application to avoid last minute rush,” NTA said.

The agency has advised candidates to regularly visit NTA websites nta.ac.in and neet.nta.nic.in for the latest updates regarding NEET UG 2025.

NEET 2025 will be conducted on May 4, in a single shift from 2 pm to 5 pm. The tentative date for the result announcement is June 14.

For those who will appear for the test outside India, the NEET UG 2025 application fee is 9,500.

After the application window closes, NTA will allow candidates to correct their forms between March 9 and 11.

Exam city intimation slips will be released by April 26, and admit cards will be released by May 1.

CUET UG 2025 Registration Candidates can apply for the exam at cuet.nta.nic.in up to 11:50 pm on March 22.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has started registration for the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET UG 2025) at cuet.nta.nic.in. Candidates can apply for the exam up to 11:50 pm on March 22.

The exam will be held in May-June in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

As per the schedule, the deadline for fee payment is March 23 (11:50 pm). The application form correction window will open on March 24 and close on March 26 (11:50 pm).

The exam will be held between May 8 and June 1, 2025. The paper-wise detailed schedule will be released later.

North, Central Kashmir may receive moderate to heavy snowfall tomorrow

Srinagar, Mar 01 (KNO): After a major wet spell of the season, the weather improved across Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, while the weatherman predicted that light rains and snow would continue in the Union Territory till March 12.

According to the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Batote in Jammu division received a rainfall of 28.8 mm in the intervening night of Friday-Saturday till 08:30 am today while 19.0 mm rainfall was recorded in Banihal.

The details read that 10.0 mm rainfall was recorded in Bhaderwah during the period while Jammu and Katra received the rainfall of 7.6 mm and 7.0 mm respectively till today morning.

Nearly 12.2 mm rainfall was recorded in Qazigund till this morning while 11.2mm precipitation was recorded in Kokernag.

Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a rainfall of 1.4 mm till 8:30 AM.

Meanwhile, Director Meteorological department (MeT), Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that generally cloudy weather is expected on Sunday with the possibility of light rain and snow at isolated places late night today as well.

He added that on March 3, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snow at most places, adding that few higher reaches of North & Central Kashmir may receive moderate to heavy snowfall.

From March 4 to 9, he said generally dry weather is expected during the period, adding that a fresh spell of rain and snow is expected between March 10 and 12.

Moreover, the MeT has issued an advisory, advising the tourists, travellers and transporters to follow administration and traffic advisory.

“Farmers should suspend irrigation & other farm operations till March 4. Landslides, rock fall and shooting stones are expected at vulnerable places,” the advisory reads.

“Avoid sloppy slopes & avalanche prone areas & follow DGRE’s avalanche warning and bulletin,” it adds.

Pertinently, J&K witnessed moderate rain and snowfall for the past four days, especially from February 26 to February 28, which led to the increase in the water level in all the water bodies including river Jhelum—(KNO)

As per an official order issued by GAD JK a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, In the interest of administration, the Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered the following transfers and postings with immediate effect.

Ms. Vivek Sharma, JKAS, Special Secretary in the Agriculture Production Department, has been transferred and posted as Director General, Floriculture, Jammu. She shall join at her new place of posting upon the retirement on superannuation of Mr. Jatinder Singh, JKAS, on March 31, 2025.
