● A fresh Western Disturbance, associated with cold temperatures, is going to affect Jammu and Kashmir for 2 days from tomorrow.
On Saturday and Sunday, Kashmir plains are likely to witness maximum temperatures not exceeding 2 or 3°C, and for the majority of the time, temperatures will remain below or near the freezing point.

● During the next 2 days, light to moderate snowfall is possible in Kashmir plains (rainfall may be absent).

● Similarly, cold temperatures will also affect parts of Jammu region, and snowfall can occur in parts of Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Poonch, Rajouri and Kathua districts (above 1300 m in elevation).

● Its main intensity will be over parts of South Kashmir & Jammu region. Heavy snowfall in a few areas is also possible.

Srinagar, 1st February 2024: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released the provisional selection list for the posts of Panchayat Secretary. The selection has been made against the advertisement number 03 of 2022 dated 26.05.2022 by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.

A total of 1395 vacancies were advertised for the post of Panchayat Secretary for various district cadres across Jammu and Kashmir. The provisional selection has been made for district cadres of Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Bandipora, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Budgam, Kupwara, Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri and Poonch.

The selection list has been uploaded on the official website of JKSSB – www.jkssb.nic.in. The shortlisted candidates will now have to go through document verification and other formalities before the final appointment.

The recruitment drive was carried out to fill up the vacant posts of Panchayat Secretaries in order to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system in Jammu and Kashmir. The selected candidates will be posted across various districts to support the smooth functioning of local governance bodies.

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has recently announced the results and score-sheet for the written test conducted on January 14, 2024, for the post of Stock Assistant in the Animal/Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department. This examination was held for various division and district cadres under Advertisement Notification No. 04 of 2021 and 04 of 2022.

The process began with the release of a provisional answer key on January 14, 2024, which was later revised and finalized after examining the objections received. The Revised/Final Answer Key was issued on February 1, 2024, through Notice No. JKSSB-COE0EXAM(UT)/103/2023-03 (7368109).
