Reckless Driving: Two Vehicles Seized; RC and Driving License Canceled: SP Traffic City Srinagar

Urges Parents to Guide Children on Road Safety; Stresses the Need for Responsible Driving

Srinagar, Jan 09 (JKNS): Two vehicles involved in a reckless driving incident were seized by authorities in Srinagar.

SP Traffic City Muzaffar Shah said that the driving licenses and vehicle registrations of the involved vehicles have been canceled. Additional sanctions are being filed to prevent such incidents in the future.

When contacted SP Traffic City Srinagar Muzaffar Shah told news agency JKNS, “Today, we seized two vehicles involved in reckless driving. These same vehicles were seized in November after they were involved in a similar incident. After 13 days, the honorable court ordered the release of their vehicles. Counseling was provided to both drivers, and their parents were also called in to educate them on the dangers of reckless driving and the importance of behaving responsibly on the roads.”

“Unfortunately, yesterday, I received a video showing these vehicles involved in reckless driving again. This evening, they were called to the Traffic Headquarters in Srinagar, and the vehicles were seized again.

The driving licenses and registration certificates of both vehicles have been canceled, and additional sanctions will be filed, he said.

We are committed to ensuring that such reckless behavior is not repeated, and I urge parents to guide their children about the consequences of irresponsible driving and the importance of road safety,” he added. (JKNS)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the JEE Main 2025 city intimation slip, enabling candidates to confirm their exam city. The slip will be available on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. However, official confirmation is still awaited. The JEE Main 2025 examination is scheduled to take place from January 22 to January 30, 2025.

According to the schedule, the BTech exams will be conducted on January 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29, while the BArch exam is set for January 30. Admit cards are expected to be issued on January 19, 2025, three days before the exams commence.

REVISED JEE MAIN 2025 EXAM PATTERN

The exam will last three hours and will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Anganwadi Recruitment 2025: Check Vacancies, Eligibility, Last Date 

Eligibility
Candidates who have passed MBBS/BDS (including completion of Internship) or equivalent degree recognized by MCI/DCI are eligible to apply.

Only those candidates who have passed MBBS/BDS (including Internship) not earlier than three years before the start date of Junior Residency i.e. January 1, 2025 will be considered for the post. This means that those who have completed MBBS/BDS or equivalent course (including completion of residency) on or between January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2024 only will be considered.
DMC/DDC registration is mandatory before joining, if selected.

Those who had joined Junior Residency at the AIIMS and whose services were terminated on account of unauthorised absence or any other disciplinary/ground, will be ineligible for the post. Candidates who have already done three terms of Junior Residency either at AIIMS or outside will not be considered. Experience in Army Services, Central Health Services, Private Nursing Homes and Private Practice will be taken as equivalent to Junior Residency.

Payment of security deposit
The candidates are required to deposit the amount of Rs 25,000 for JR January 2025 session as Security deposit through electronic fund transfer mode. Only those who have registered and deposited the amount will be eligible for seat allocation.  The refund (if any) will be processed after completion of all rounds of counseling.

Salary
The applicant will be entitled for level 10 of pay matrix (pre-revised pay band-3, Rs.15600/- + 5400/-(GP)) with entry pay of Rs.56,100 per month plus usual allowances.

CTET Result 2024 Declared: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the result of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted in December 2024. Candidates can check their results and download scorecards from ctet.nic.in.

  1. Go to ctet.nic.in
  2. Open the December exam result link.
  3. Enter your roll number and submit.
  4. Check your result and download the scorecard.

The exam was conducted on December 14 and 15 at test centres across the country.

The provisional answer key was released on January 1 along with the scanned images of OMR sheets. The board also invited objections from candidates on the payment of ₹1,000 per question.

“ There is a provision for the candidates to challenge the answer keys through the link available on the website ctet.nic.in from 01/01/2025 to 05/01/2025 (upto 11:59 PM). A fee of Rs. 1000/- per question is required to be submitted through credit/debit card. The fee once paid is non-refundable,” CBSE said in the official notice.

It added that subject experts will review the challenges submitted by the candidates.

If a challenge to the provisional answer key is accepted, meaning if the subject experts notice any mistake, a policy decision will be made, and the fee will be refunded, the board said.

“The refund (if any) will be transferred online to the concerned credit/debit card account, so the candidates are advised to pay from their own credit/debit card,” it added

CBSE said the board’s decision on the challenges would be final and that no further communication would be entertained.

J&K Government Directs Employees to Attend R-Day and Beating Retreat Ceremonies

Jammu, Jan 9, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has instructed all its employees to participate in the Republic Day function and the Beating Retreat Ceremony as part of their official duties.

The main Republic Day event for 2025 will take place at Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu, with the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor presiding over the ceremony and taking the salute. Government officials and employees from Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) stationed in Jammu have been directed to attend the event.

In an official directive, the administration emphasized that all Heads of Departments (HoDs) and Chief Executives of PSUs must ensure their presence at the event along with their subordinate staff.

In addition, a separate circular announced that the Beating Retreat Ceremony, marking the conclusion of Republic Day celebrations, will be held on January 29, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. at Maulana Azad Stadium.

The directive applies to all government employees stationed in Jammu, with HoDs and PSU chiefs instructed to ensure their attendance along with their staff. [KNT]

The maximum grant is ₹10,00,000/-.

Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence (RGS) scheme: Under this scheme, the Rajasthan government will help 200 meritorious students of the state study abroad. Financial assistance will be provided for undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, and post-doctoral studies at 50 reputed institutes around the world, such as Oxford, Harvard, and Stanford University. The state government will bear the entire expenditure of the students, including fares, tuition fees, etc.

Srinagar, Jan 08 (KNO): Indian Railways has achieved a historic milestone with the successful completion of a high-speed trial on the challenging 180-degree climb from Katra to Banihal under the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project.

This development, conducted under adverse conditions, marks a major step towards connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of India via a direct rail link.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Northern Railway Safety Commissioner Dinesh Chand Deswal described the event as a promising advancement for the Indian Railways, signaling the potential launch of the much-awaited rail service. “The trial at 110 km/h on the 180-degree climb is a significant achievement in the history of Indian Railways,” Deswal said.

The high-speed trial began at Katra station at 10:30 AM, with the train covering the distance to Banihal station in just one and a half hours. The return journey commenced at 2:00 PM, concluding at Katra by 3:30 PM. This trial is the final high-speed test on the track, according to Deswal, who added that the data collected during the two-day statutory inspection will now undergo analysis. A decision regarding the launch of the direct rail service is expected to follow after review by the central government.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had earlier announced the completion of the Reasi-Katra section in December, a significant step in the USBRL project. Launched in 1997, the project has faced numerous delays due to challenging geographical, climatic, and technical conditions.

The USBRL project is a critical initiative aimed at integrating Kashmir into the national railway network. “The success of the trial not only highlights the technical prowess of Indian Railways but also brings the dream of seamless rail connectivity to the region closer to reality,” Deswal said—(KNO)
